Your IMS shocks are rebuildable, hence why they are more expensive than the nitro gas. 👍 So don't throw them away once they flog out, send them in the the Melbourne branch and get them rebuilt, which isn't overly expensive.
You know, when modifying the suspension on these, you are really messing up the steering geometry. They become unstable at 80 kph without a few other mods. First, by raising the chassis, you change the steering caster angle, making the steering twitchy. You need to install offset caster bushings in the front radius arms. Then, you need to lower the front steering arm so that it is parallel to the front axle. All the sway bar links need to be lengthened. Next, your panhard rods are no longer parallel to the axle. So you have introduced a lot of bump steer front and rear. You need to weld up some brackets to drop the mounting points on the chassis, on both front and rear. Lastly, you will start chewing up cross joints on all the axles.
hey bro just an fyi before u get a bullbar, you can bolt the vdj front end (76, 79 series etc) onto the prados and 73/74 series. makes it look really cool with the bonnet, lights etc off a 79 and means u can fit a newer (and probably easier to find) bullbar to the car
Oooooh yer baby this thing is looking smicko already, geting 4 inches in the back its kinda crazy. i have a feeling this is going to be a build like no other and genuinely cant wait haha ps: every inch counts brother lol
looking good man! Force4 in NZ is the place for Prado mods, the owner Phil has a winch comp Prado with a blown 1UZ in it. flick them an email if you need info they are good guys!
What size rims are those would love the measurement next time if you measure from the guard to the centre of the hub just want to compare the height to mine hope you enjoy your new purchase can’t wait for more updates cheers for the great videos and content man 🎉
In the world of internet strapped to your wrist it frustrates me you spend so much on products and parts and have no knowledge on why your buying them or why there better other another. LUL

What a rig I can’t wait for the little build series and see it out on the tracks 🤙🏼 and can we all give brad a massive shout out what a top bloke 🍻

Any idea if you can do the same to 78 series?
Welcome back Adam!
Excited to see the JDM Prado.
Mistake on the Dobinson shocks. Had them in a KZJ78, ridiculously stiff and overdamped. Much prefer the EFS currently running.
Great video good to see one with out big head Sam. Should be more of them.
This rig is going to be nice 👍🏼
Those voids in the radius arms bushes will allow a bit more flex I reckon. I still reckon rubber will be good rather than urethane.
Cant wait to see this thing on the tracks
Love the build mate! Mine is a bit newer but they are both capable all the same 👍
Hey dude your front bumper is on the lean check the front bolts in the middle looks like you are missing 2 of the 4

I've seen a few ads for these on carsales, yours is the first time I've heard of a manual. Always hated the Toyota 4 speed autos.

Nice work guys 👍

Hard to find this model with the coil spring in my country.. Mine is leaf spring.
hey mate, i have an LJ9 over in fiji, im struggling to find bushings, for the rear support arms, have you done these?
Can you give the part numbers for the Springs?
Where can i get these very parts or something similar in Europe
Hi, if just do 2 inch lift, do I need sway bar H extension ?
Where I can find the coil spring and shock breaker
I have 1994 KZJ78 and I wish I had the stock height springs. I have a 2” lift kit from Dobinsons all around and I’m not feeling it
Want to swap? I have the standard suspension with Toyota Electronic Management Suspension shocks. Im from the Philippines 🇵🇭 by the way
@@michaelbautista5803 I wish! I am honestly still waiting for next year to replace my set up but I never recommend the Dobinsons on anyone
How mch are those shocks please
Pls tell me what those rims are mate! I’ll like and sub!!
Did u buy this interstate? Ive only seen one in S.A and was for sale not too long ago
Oh wait this guy doesnt reply. Thats soooooo shit!

Finally!
Detalhe of suspension number for front and rear
how much did you pay for the import?
Fuck ive been waiting for the update
Looks nice should defs put 76 front end on it to confuse ppl
Nice one 👍 it's funny the 90 series is the other way around. Bitch of a job doing the rears but piece of pies doing the fronts
Rear springs just fall out, top bolt for the shock isn't too bad with the wheel out of the way. Need an offset spanner.
hi
Weird looking patrol
