Mr. Dykes thanks for always putting these videos and now lessons out for us… that’s a killer pic with Scotty Moore and the L5, and fantastic story of you and your wife going back and forth selling the L5 for jewelry she wanted, then her using the inheritance $$ to repurchase an L5 for you - that’s true love! Glad you got an L5 and we’re able to share in on all that big bout tone :) PS Chetley Medley (and all the jams on Return of the Falcon) are on replay daily here. Wishing you all the continued love and joy in your lives and thank you again.

Thanks for posting these videos Doyle!! I just found you a few days ago. I've been playing since the mid 80s. I've learned alot from your videos in the last 2 days!! I can't play the songs exactly like you but I am playing similar things...please post more. Even if it's just one piece of a song at a time

Thanks for these videos! Super. I sold my Martin before moving from FL to AZ last year but I may buy another guitar - still have my Baritone and Concert Ukuleles. I think these video lessons may prove useful to me in my development from beginner to more of an Intermediate player. Many thanks.

I’m learning Three Little Words right now. Im mainly going off the arrangement Paul Yandell plays in another video . This helps iron out the detail. Thank you ! Liked and subbed.

    I still have a 1959 Gibson 345. I don't know what it is worth.

Solid woods give greater frequency responses, more details, more value !!!!

    • @teunio501

What has more value is a matter of perspective, hollow body guitars have more character and a more open and fuller sound. I also like Chet's Gretsch country gentlemen more then his Gibson.

@@teunio501 The Gretsch countrygentleman sounds better than the Gibson, but they are both laminated guitars; Solid guitars, like the L5 or Super400 to name a few, have a much more complex workmanship, hand-carved boards, the covered frequency spectrum is really superior to laminated ones. I own both gent and 335 and L5 and these things I have really checked.
