Brilliant video. Well informative. In terms of off grid, I do this all the time with our rally group from Yorkshire ( Yorkshire friends Ralliers). Since i joined, hardly book on caravan club sites. More roomy, less cost and fantastic venues. I would say, if you are doing more off grid, change your battery to a AGM, 120ah. These can run down to 20%, instead of 40% on the standard lead acid. Also they charge 4 times quicker. Good advice on the fridge, always use on gas, hardly uses anything. Once again, great video, you seem such a natural presenter.
Andrew I really appreciate this comment. The 1st comment on the video! When I returned I looked into AGM batteries as well as a MPPT solar charger as these both would have helped. But a great learning experience. I think I need to learn more about Yorkshire friends ralliers. Sounds great! Thank you for watching and taking time to comment. Rob.
Great video, I went for the first time in 2005, caught the bug and haven't missed one since. Have worked the last 5 so normally onsight for 11 or 12 days in a campervan. Spot on with your tips and advice.
Well done Robert, absolutely fantastic video. Can tell there’s a lot of work gone into the video. Glastonbury looked absolutely amazing. Keep up the good work Robert. ❤
Haf!!! Oh wow it’s great to hear from you!! Yeah we absolutely loved it, had a fantastic time. Unfortunately we won’t be there this year as we don’t have tickets…gutted but we’ll be watching at home. Hope all well your end? X
Great video. Pretty much my experience too. I usually take a spare leisure battery that I keep in the back of the car. I use it to charge up phone power banks. I’ll be there this year after a six year absence. Can’t wait. 👍👍👍
That’s a great idea. I actually had a little lithium battery which charges off a solar panel. But because I only used it for my camera batteries I didn’t mention it as it wouldn’t have affected anything else.
Brilliant video. The bit at the end had me chuckling. Once youve been there's not a thing in the world that will stop you from trying every year to get tickets.
John I’m so grateful to hear this. It’s not quite hitting the amount of people I would have liked to any comment of this nature goes such a long way. Thanks.
Great insight in to doing Glasto in the van. We’re going this year and thinking of going in my friends motorhome instead of my big tent, so sending this through to her. Interesting that you could set up Tuesday, I’d wondered this, with the car parks being open. Thanks so much, sorry you couldn't get tickets this year, good luck for resale. Hope to film some bits with my 6 year old daughter and put on her youtube channel @ChloesDayOut
Cracking video, I've been looking for something like this for ages. Very helpful! Thanks for taking the time out of your festival to make this content! Gutted you guys didn't get tickets, hopefully see you in the field next year!
Great video, love the editing, really captured what it's about. We hire a campervan when we go and use the fridge with gas, works a treat. Shame you haven't got tickets this year, we were somehow lucky enough to get some again!
great vid thanks for the advice, one quick question would be was the walk manageable to and from the east campervan site to the main arena's everyday? thinking of taking the camper this year. thank you
Hey thanks for your comment. On the whole i would say absolutely it's absolutely managable for anyone with no walking difficulties. There is a hill just as your about to enter the festival or just as you come out its about 80 metre. we found it no issue at all. the key is the earlier you get there the closer to the festival you will be or thats certainly our experience we arrived on the tuesday and weren't far from the top of that hill.
This was a great video, someone recommended it in Facebook. We’ve done it in a tent and our campervan a number of times. The van is definitely preferable. Shame there are less campervan fields now, seems to be all moving over to £££ glamping type tents. Upgrading your batteries and solar would help. We’ve always run a compressor fridge and a 12v cool box for the week we’re there. I guess in a caravan you potentially won’t do a lot of off grid camping though so possibly not worth the £. Glad your enjoyed it though and again, great video.
Thankyou for a great comment. I really hope they don’t completely get rid of them that would be a huge shame. And you’re right. Batt and sole upgrade pending. Including a video about it.
Just take a 5 day cooler, I fill large lunchboxes with water and freeze them into giant ice cubes, then throw all your cans of beer in there and you have cold beer all week, this year will be my 10th, tried and tested
Great video mate. Whats the situation with food vendors on the campsite itself before entering festival? And how long does your water last for the shower?
Yeah there is a vendor at the top of the hill before you descend into the entrance to the festival. I don’t think there’s any after that point. But it’s a good place to go before heading in as they are busier. But the food was really good everywhere! So there was 4 of us in the van and we could get showered on one aquaroll. That was quick rinse. Turn it off. Lather up, rinse off. Done. So sparingly. Hope that helps.
In my opinion no. But that’s not to say it’s easy. I was as set up for the camping tickets as I was for the main tickets. I would approach both the same.
Hilarious. And for clarity I had asked her 12 questions by this point. I think she was humouring me to even answer the question by that point. 🤣 thanks for watching and commenting. R
Can't imagine paying the exorbitant CV pass price to camp somewhere with no atmosphere a 30-60 minute walk from the stages that you have to do at minimum twice a day.
I can only my speak from experience. It depends which stage your travelling to. But from the circus stages. It’s a 9 minute walk. And to prymid from my caravan in 2023 I could walk it in 18 mins. It cost me £150. For me it was worth it. We were surrounded by some lovely people and there was an atmosphere. Sure it wasn’t banging with music but that what I wanted. I wanted to be able to get away from it all and sleep. But still have some atmosphere. But each to their own right?
@turkeyphant it's an infinitely better experience. I've done camping 3 times and CV once and CV beats camping by an absolute mile. Maybe it's because I'm over the hill of my 20's but I wouldn't do camping again
If you have any other Tips you can share with anyone looking at this feel free to add some in the comments.
Bravo Bravo Robert!!! Well done cracking video, best one yet! ❤
Thankyou Luke. Really appreciate the support.

Such an amazing video, Rob!!!!🔥👏👏👏
Ahh thankyou Beth. Means a lot. I love it when people that don’t even have or are interested in caravans enjoy my videos. Thanks for watching.

That’s a great tip Steve. I’ll remember that for next time. Thanks for the comment.
This is the only way you would get me to Glastonbury 😂 I’ve never been because I hate the thought of being in a tent and not showering for days
The exact reason we had never been!! As soon as we got the caravan I said oooooh guess what!… 🤣

Another question mate is there anything you need to attach to the hose to be able to reach the water barrel?
Change your gas bottle to a safefill you fill up as and when needed bottle expensive to start but costs about 10 to 15 quid to fill up.
Yep got one Craig. Fantastic. In fact there a full review of my thoughts on it on the channel! I love it. Thanks for watching.
Is the camper ticket as hard to get as the festival ticket ?
In my opinion no. But that’s not to say it’s easy. I was as set up for the camping tickets as I was for the main tickets. I would approach both the same.
100,000 miles! that's exactly what my Mrs would say 😆
