    Brilliant video, straight to the point, no bullshitting around, no stretching the vid to get monetised views. Job well done sir!

    I do think that pigs should be re-done. A sow should produce between 6 -10 piglets in three months after breeding. So if you bought two pigs of breeding age, and take care of them. Then in a year you should have at least 12-20 more pigs since a sow can liter twice a year.

      Believe it or not but sows can birth up to 28. I believe it is a world record. I have worked in breeding for 15 years at an Agri-Business and we average 13-18 born alive.

      FS19 with Seasons (mod) had this more realistic breeding pattern. Combined with 1000 capacity pens, pig were crazy.

    as someone who has had 2 324 pig pens on a save for like 12+yrs. they are profitable. but you have to sell them off once they hit max$ value. so you get free piglets that grow up. i have them on a rotation to where i sell 40 pigs every other month or so and i make like $50k a sell. but i feel if i used the crops that make the feed and put those into a production building it makes more. also the slurry/manure seems low

      I am pretty much doing the same, but now I am selling 36 at a time because that's what the trailer holds. In the example I did slurry but not manure because in FS 22 the default is without. So, manure will add to the profit.

  • @arieswar0353
    @arieswar0353 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Techinally earlier then that. Getting the slurry and manure means you can add extra value to other crops

    • @farmerteacher-FS
      @farmerteacher-FS  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I agree. I did slurry and not manure. That's what most beginners will do.

    Did you feed them with your own crop or did you buy the pig food pallet in the store? (If those are in fs22 I haven't played it in a while)Also do you think it's the same for fs19? I currently play on my steam deck but only have fs22 on xbox.

      I used the multi-fruit buying station. It's a mod, but cheaper than pig food from the shop. I have done pigs on FS19 but did not test it. I have an updated video here with a little more info:

      Whenever I had a pen full, I would sell 30 to 40 of the most valuable ones. The price varied some.

    I'm wanting to get back into FS22, again. I'm thinking about selling my horses and the stable, because I just don't think they are that profitable and daily riding just seems like a chore. Selling them should give me some good money and I can focus on other Livestock, such as Sheep and Cattle. As well as a larger crop field to sustain them.

    • @farmerteacher-FS
      @farmerteacher-FS  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Riding the horses is a chore for sure!! Ride them though to get their value up before you sell!

      @Farmer Teacher - Farming Simulator I had four horses and made a good profit. I bought them at $500 and sold them at about $2200-$2600. Think they might be a better animal to have in multiplayer. Then more people can exercise them at once. I also wanted my field back that I placed the stable in.

    Alright I literally just started your video and already a massive issue the main ordeal for livestock is the animal husbandry aspect it's more than 50% of the purpose for most farming sim animals you can't fill your pen more than halfway or they will never reproduce there for you miss ot on 80% of your possible income especially with pigs, sheep and chickens you got 75% more money from reproduction versus the products they make massive fail from the start

    • @matthewperrigin9292
      @matthewperrigin9292 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      not really with chickens. do the math. each chicken lays X eggs/month once productive. if u sell grown chicken u will lose it's eggs for each month the new baby chicken is growing. even on hard the price of the eggs you lost from selling that grown chicken, is more than u'll get for selling the new chicken once grown. best to fill chicken houses up and just collect your eggs.

    • @josephpavlot2247
      @josephpavlot2247 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As I said before most animals are best selling a percentage off nice work listing the only which is not especially when the video in question was about pig so how you going to try and say that when 4/5 do do better with selling off and I'm sure with a tad bit of math you may be correct with base game coops but with much larger mods available I'm sure selling chicken can also be profitable

    • @matthewperrigin9292
      @matthewperrigin9292 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josephpavlot2247 even using the 5000 chicken coop. if u sell 1 chicken it takes 4 month for that chicken to reach maturity. that's 32eggs iirc that u lose waiting on chicken to reach maturity. price of 32 eggs = more than price of that chicken you sold.

    • @TheFarmingSims
      @TheFarmingSims ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josephpavlot2247 Matthew is right. Chickens are so cheap to get started, you might as well just fill the coop to max and get max profit from selling eggs. However, our Teacher took that strategy and used it for pigs. You should buy 90 matures and in 8 months you will have 180 mature, selling 90 piglets every 2 months. Even better is buying a second pen for holding 530 pigs and sell 90 matures for $70k+ each time. Sheep and Cows should use this same strategy.

  • @TheFarmingSims

    This is not a profitable way to run a pig farm IMO. They reproduce every 4 months. My suggestions for beginners: divide your animal pens by 3. For 270 capacity pen buy 90 mature pigs ($50k). After 8 months you will have 180 mature and 90 piglets. Now, option 1: sell 90 piglets every 2 months ($9k) + manure and slurry. This is quicker to break even and more profitable after. Option 2 for advanced players: buy a second pen and move mature pigs around so you have Option 1 in both pens. After 14 months you will now have 560 pigs and you can alternate between selling the highest price mature pigs ($70k) and piglets ($9k). With the setup cost of $380k for 2 pens and 90 pigs (not including food) it takes longer to break even. But your future profits are much higher and worthwhile.
    I like what you are doing with your channel, but you may need more experience across some aspects of the game, esp if you are going to advertise and covert views into subs and positive feedback. I have taken to time to help, not to be a hater. I wish you the best of luck as you cross the 1000 subs mark. For me, I just make vids for fun, I am not trying to teach, but I have a lot of respect for those that give it a go. Good luck.

    Dont max out your pig pen otherwise they'll be no pigs to sell. Just get 4 pigs and keep them healthy and they should reproduce and you can sell them for a profit. Thats how you make your money with pigs

      @@farmerteacher-FS you should redo and do it as 10-20 piglets instead of buying full grown so that you can show how much money you can make and have to spend to start up a small operation that would blossom into a bigger more profitable operation. What you show is helpful please don’t think I’m bashing it just feel it could be more accurate into prices it takes to turn a profit. Maybe an extra content video could also be a way to maximize the profit like I like to have two pig pens one for maturing pigs and another for breeding and when the new pigs are born I sell that many from the other pen and then move the new babies to their spot and so on

    • @farmerteacher-FS
      @farmerteacher-FS  2 ปีที่แล้ว
