Back then, Fab's then very thick German accent would have been a dead give away. As it was back then when they did their first interview on MTV in the run up to the Grammy Awards. It was that same thick German accent that made many people question if they had actually sung on the record or if it was the result of a producer inflating the product, which ended up being the case. Now, had Rob & Fab had time to work on their accents and their English skills to match Charles Shaw's American accent, Frank Farrin would've probably given them the chance to sing on the next record. But the truth had been exposed by then and there was no going back. Not to mention, many consumers had returned their CD's back to record shops and many also sued Arista Records over it causing Clive Davis to delete the album from Arista's catalogue. Over the last three decades since this happened, Fab Morvan has had the chance to practice his English speaking skills and bring his accent more in line with those who actually did sing on the record, so he may still have a chance to succeed yet, but the Millie Vanilli controversy will always be a part of his history and that's something that he'll never be able to escape.

It was a crime to not let you sing these parts on the original recordings. Maybe it was Rob that was the issue vocally. Having two vocalists really round out this song but come on. The crime was what the management did. Unfortunately a contract is a contract even if you weren’t really singing in the release.
I think he still has it. Maybe he can surround himself with a better crew of musicians, better sound, backup vocals, and dancers. He could do a tour many people are willing to pay to see.
They should have gone for voice training to improve their voice and used it.With their "new" voice,looks and dance moves,they would have still been a hit!
