    First. Dream car. 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. Dad owned one and sold it, life in the way and it was never restored. I owned a '56 Victoria, same story. I wish more new guys in the field were required to watch a ""Required Series" set of videos. It would make the whole industry more efficient. Too many companies hiring unqualified 'helpers'. They are not just lazy but have no ambition, and no initiative. I think part of that is that they have no education in the field and so the just stand around on their phones and in turn makes it hard for us experienced guys to try and get the days work done while being a damned INSTRUCTOR.

    Thank you for having your channel, we have CEU electrical class at work but Everytime I attend, I’m online understanding probably 25% of the topics. Your teaching skills, simplifying things make sooo much understandable. Thanks coach. I’m brand new to the electrical world but you make it easy.

    Thanks for your videos. I got confused in the 2020 looking for 310.15 b7. I used the key and index process that you taught. Which brought me to 310. 12

    'Continuous Duty' is listed as 'Duty, Continuous' so all the other 'Duty' definitions are in the same place and you can read them all at the same time. Otherwise you would have to flip pages looking under "C", "I", "P", "S" and "V" to find all the 'Duty' references.

    Dream car: VW Beetle electric car conversion Favorite subject: residential and commercial load calculation

    At 43:26 you seem to be sizing the wire based off the breaker size x .83. I'm a little confused because you always say to size the wire based on the load and not the breaker.

      For this section we first size the service and then follow the steps.

    Article 310.15(B)(7) Min 41:00 isn't in the 2020 NEC, but I did find it in my 2017. Does it still apply in this example? Or am I missing it somewhere, and does it apply in our testing here in Texas? I was scrambling to find your article mention in my 2020 book, and it would have been a wrong answer had I NOT looked in my 2017. So I don't know now. Are we under sizing wire now since the .83 rule isn't in the 2020 code book?

    • @Electricalexamcoach
      @Electricalexamcoach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep exactly the same outcome in both, difference code references.

      @@Electricalexamcoach gotcha! Thank you.
      FYI, This series has been unbelievably helpful, insightful and one of the best I’ve seen thus far.
      I’ve been approved for my Texas exam, and this video series has me more and more confident, the more and more I watch and rewatch them.
      Update: it looks like they moved it to article 310.12, if anyone else has had any trouble finding it.

    In the very last question, you sized the wire based on the breaker size (225A) instead of the calculated load size (52000VA's/240V). Is that right?

    • @Electricalexamcoach
      @Electricalexamcoach  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I rewatched it it looks good

    • @ChrisCharles97
      @ChrisCharles97 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm with them also, you sized it based on the breaker and earlier in the videos you said size them based on the load, or so I thought so.
