So hey, question. Can you go back to see if you can kill when he first gets out of the elevator? If you wait long enough after T-Bug tells you to hide, Adam actually just stolls out of the elevator to try and kill you. Note sure if he is unkillable here or not...

To be fair, by the time you end up fighting smasher, you have a comparable ammount of cyberware in your body that David had before the battlemech. The mechsuit was a bad match against smasher, but perfect to mow down the rest of Arasaka security.

In the old Baldur´s Gate games there was "Biff the Understudy" who came in and played the role for essential characters that got killed off by a bug or cheat. That would be great for Adam Smasher too. Instead of that war cyborg there is a small actor who says the line and has to fulfill the final battle at Arasaka.

@@kittystcherbatski67 Not quite, Smasher hates Arasaka, he only works for them because he almost died and they rebuilt him in exchange for his merc contract, but he could not care less about normal organics.
Considering that one of the quickhacks is ping that reveals enemy locations, it's not a stretch to imagine that Adam knew V and Jackie were hidden, but didn't say anything as it would interrupt the assassination and hostile takeover of Arasaka, and counter hacking to reveal location exists. Besides, he knew where you were going to escape judging by the fact that he explodes out of the building to smash into your car. He likely figured he could destroy you at leisure and didn't factor in Delamain.

Unfortunately, you're wrong about half of that. Can't use quickhacks from either Berserk or Sandevistan OS, only cyberdecks. I'd wager Takemura realized when he looked directly at V and Jackie through the one way screen, probably used ping right then.

In the actual game if you go out naked V will always wear at least shorts (but no bra) even if in the menu she is completely naked, so there is at least one decency law that isn't broken!

The threat detector is probably red because Adam Smasher is hard coded to always know the player's location for the purposes of the boss fight.
But in the smasher fight im pretty sure you can stealth it
It's cause he knows you're there. You are the scapegoat for Saburo's murder, it's pretty obvious since he stares at you the whole time and only attacks you once you "surprisingly" make it out of Konpeki alive

The real reason he can see you probably has nothing to do with his character, cyberwear, or story. The real reason is probably because he's the only one in the room who's an actual enemy character model that you fight later, and that model is being used in a scripted event. Sounds like two seperate systems interfering with each other and causing weird things to happen

For those curious, it's because all bosses in the game have a script attached to their AI that automatically detects you so all of them have that red overlay. That said it's likely Adam can 100% see us anyways, it's just that the red overlay in gameplay is because of the script, even bosses that aren't aware of you show up as red.
In the story however Smasher likely doesn't do anything about us because he hasn't been told to do anything about us yet, he only attacks Del because Yorinobu probably told him to stop us. He gets shit done and if he hasn't been paid to do something boring (like killing 2 bit-part runners) he won't do it, likewise if he wants to do something you really need to keep him on a leash somehow, whether it be cash or new tech he wants.
Adam Smasher is sadistic cyberpsycho since like early 2000, there's no way he won't take the chance to kill two intruders right where they stay, it's not about money
Its intentional in game because he looks at you not the other NPC's the entire time.
The fact that they kept this 'bug' in from launch until 2.1 makes me think it isn't a bug at all and completely intentional.

I just did the scene again and only focused on Smasher with zoom even the whole time...Smasher is standing ALWAYS facing you the ENTIRE TIME, never taking his eyes off you.
Even when he leaves he looks over his shoulder at you.
He never faces his employer, Saburo or Takashi. He only ever... looks... at... YOU. ...implant says so too.
It would be an absurd coincidence if the implant saying he has detected you is a bug AND the devs just happening to have his body and head be facing you and only you in two instances.
It's not really a *bug* per se, more of an oversight. Since it's just that they used the same stuff from his boss fight at the end. There it *makes sense* for him to always know where you are and always be facing you, so that's what he's programmed to do.
CAN still work canonically though, which may well be why it's stayed around. Kinda like a nice easter egg thing

Thats not an oversight tho CDPR has done it on purpose 1000%, such thing is easily avoidable in RPG games by making 2-3 different NPC's so 1 would be Adam Smasher the boss fight which is the main one, the other would be Adam Smasher just for the scene that behaves differently and is not a Boss and does not keep an eye at V at all times it takes seconds for them to make a new "Actor" and do this, CDPR are not a bunch of idiots if they can make such a game, they would have know about this trick that Bethesda and other RPG Games pull off all the time@@superjuliracing

I haven't played through all the game yet (still pretty early in act 2). But I figure the bot is there because there are different kinds of NPCs Killable and non-klllable. Again, I haven't played much beyond the prologue, and I'm not even gonna finish this video because I sense spoilers, but I figure that you're probably gonna be able to fight Smasher at some point. As such, he needs to have certain interactions with your abilities whereas someone like Saburo should have none. Outside of the narative of the scene and only in the technical game sense, everyone in that room probably "notices" you, but everyone already has their behavior preprogrammed, so the Smasher model won't act on being aware of your model, and you won't know the other models are aware of you because they don't interact with your abilities.
I don't know much about game developing so take my guess with a grain of salt, but I do still suspect that I'm right.
That said, Smasher detecting you without the urge to do anything and you only being able to know about it if you happened upon certain cyberware, would be quite a fun little easter egg, if that's even the right word for it.

@@oOPPHOo I have not finished the game either but you interact with Takamura in the Game later... I‘ll try if you can attack him and get him into a combat-stance. If that is possible, the detection is a developer-decision. (I think those are civilian models without combat-AI though)
He lights up like that even if you don't have the detection chip. It's just the game telling you he's a threat.
I think the reason Goro or Yorinobu is not highlighted is simple: they’re not tagged as enemies in a game engine (spoiler: Goro will be on your side), while Adam is always an enemy. The detection system probably works fine, just Adam programmed to do nothing but play role in a cutscene. If you stop cutscene somehow, I’m sure he’ll be attacking you while others just stay around.
Adam knows you're there, that's why the response team finds you so quickly, and knows to look for you and Jackie. Takemura didn't "fold", he was smart to play it the way he did. The father was already dead, feigning allegiance gave him time to gather intel, find you, make a plan, and most importantly not get killed by Adam.
And you could tell Adam was ready to kill him on yurinobus word cause he waited for takemura to leave first so he could follow behind. Dude is glorified serial killer waiting for his next piece of fuckable meat

The way I see it, he saw us. His priority was the son. He stared us down, ready to act if we made a move. He then radioed in assassin's in the penthouse. And waited downstairs for us once he got his priority to saftey.

Smasher is probably coded that way to always see you, since he's later used for a boss battle where he's always able to detect you and know where you are, they've already had that written in in this cutscene.
If you use optical camo he actually loses you
You can actually lose him pretty easy, also enemies can’t normally see you through smart glass.

Given how loaded Adam's current cyborg suit is... (the IEC Dragoon) I think with all the sensory tech that comes on that thing stock, Adam most definitely knows you're there. Oversight or not, the Dragoon full-body suit is like a one-man army.

It'd be the biggest Easter egg that Adam knew you were there all along and was colluding to kill the old man. It'd make so much sense - let you get "caught" by the MedTac team, and then have the excuse to kill you and Jackie as the scapegoat.

Theory: Smasher wants you to get away with Silverhand so he can kill him properly
Why would he care about Johny at all? During the Arasaka raid, he didn't even knew his name, he didn't recognize him.

Implication of a big rivalry there. Then Smasher doesn't actually end up killing Johnny after all, and being Yorinobu's personal bodyguard it's not far-fetched to assume he knows about the chip. Being that chromed, it's also not far-fetched to assume he could scan your character.
Smasher would know that as long as Arasaka owned the chip, Johnny would be out of his reach.
And uh, he didn't recognize Johnny during the final mission because he's in a different body, with a different voice.
@@SWnerdGUY No, no. I ment that in the actual canon, you know, in Cyberpunk 2020, he doesn't even know who Johnny is.
It is also implied in the game that what we see in the flashbacks are just blatant lies, Johnny sees himself as the one who came up with the whole plan for the raid, while in reality it was Morgan Blackhand who was hired by Millitech to attack the HQ. Rogue even says during some mission that V shouldn't belive any word of what Johnny says.
There is also another implication.... I belive by Hellman? Basically, Silverhand we see in the game is just an 80% complete engram of his real self. Like, those 20% are just the stuff the software thinks Johnny would say or think.
He was at the Arasaka HQ that night, but the reason he is so badass during the whole mission is that's how he remembers that event. Or the software thinks he would recall it that way. He is making himself out to be a bigger deal than he actually was.
In Cyberpunk lore, Silverhand was just that one egoistic rockerboy, no one really special. On the other hand, he wasn't as big of an asshole as he is in the game, he truly cared for his friends there.
No, he seems geniunely surprised if you let him know about Johnny after the boss fight. In all likelihood, Smasher, a grade-A sadistic psychopath, just decided to let V and Jackie stew in there for his own amusement before hunting them down.
That wouldn't make any sense since he would be able to know that V would be shot in the head.

@ThatCattieroGuy Potentially. Personally, I would've just hard-animated a model with none of the logic whatsoever. I can't imagine the cutscene uses any of AS's logic at all, really.
It would have been way better optimized if he wasn't a complete instance of himself, but they put 30,000 vertices on some lady's butt so they probably don't care. Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V

The bodyguard doesn't detect you because his boss distracts him mid-scan. The game actually says unauthorized scanning in progress when the bodyguard is in front of you

Takemura doesn't detect you because he uses the same implants as you, and he is stopped by Saburo before the scan is complete. He even mentions it. It's right there in the dialogue.

In fairness, everybody who was anybody knew that Yorinobu murdered Saburo. Hanako only decided to use it against him when she realized that now he was trying to murder her as well.

It is unlikely that they coded the game in such a way that it would be the same physical instalment of Adam popping up there. It's possible ofcourse, just very unlikely.
@@SAMMY_ELWAY It's possible to finish the game without having them killed and still take your body. In the secret ending you storm arasaka tower alone with Johnny, and if you succeed, they still live, cause they dont help you in take the tower.

I've heard that the Threat Detector is really just highlighting Adam Smasher because there is a game script that causes all bosses to be instantly aware of the player's presence and they never fixed it so that in the rare instance when the player is hiding from the boss, that boss wouldn't be highlighted by the Treat Detector. Perhaps they decided to leave it in the game BECAUSE of all the unverified theories that it has caused, thereby enhancing the mystery aspect of the game.

My sword did literally 0 dmg to him in the ‘very hard’ secret ending. Dunno why. Had to resort to running around and frantically shooting him to avoid getting 1-shot.

I think Adam definitely did detect you. Takamura almost did but got distracted. If you follow what the game says, Adam is using military implants, and is basically 2% human. With V's low level implants, you can tell how dangerous someone actually is. Im sure Adam detected you but him being red isnt a glitch. That far along in the game, you arent supposed to be that high of a level, with those abilities. So i think thats why Adam just stood staring at you, its to demonstrate he does see you. I actually never noticed him staring until this video. Him staring could mean he was trying to determine your threat level. He probably would of reacted if Jackie did something extra because Jackie is a Valentino, so he's kinda tough, nothing close to Adam tho. With the type of weapons Adam has, he wouldnt be able to attack you without literally blowing up the room with yorinobu in it. So my assumption is he watched you because he chose not to try and do anything and being that deep in Arasaka Tower, means you'd probably get killed anyway. Especially with Takamura there, Takamura alone could of actually killed V and Jackie. He has to have very high level implants since he mentioned being faster than Oda.(Youll find out who that is later on) This puts the whole story into a different perspective i think
He mentioned that he use to be faster then oda and that he hopes hes still faster stop twisting shiit just fit this bullshiiit he did not see us hiding he would've attacked he doesnt have to fcking blow up the room

I thought why Adam didn’t say anything when he saw you. I think it bcs he knew about the whole scenario of killing Saburo and V with Jackie weren’t any threat. If Smasher said anything, Saburo would be evacuated and the whole plan was going to fail. So he took the risk and he was just staring at you. He just wanted to be sure you didn’t try anything. That kinda makes sense to me.
Yeah, you are just two thieves who have stolen some important piece of technology, and witnessed his boss committing murder on his father. Sounds perfectly fine to let you get away without noticing anybody. Although he'll still suddenly decide to stop you when you try to get away in a taxi cab, because logic.
Or the whole thing of him activating the threat detector is just one of the many overlooked things there are in the game. Occam's razor, guys.

Or it is simply that the whole event is scripted, but CDPR didn't remember to deactivate the interaction between your eye mods and the AI of Smasher's toon. You know, like they fucked up a lot of other little details because they had to rush out the game. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point this got fixed, meaning, Smasher simply not lighting up with the mod any more.

They're unknow quantities, you don't know how they will react, what they are after -after all they could have been there to kill your boss as far as you know. Would you really leave the room, letting two intruders with unknow agenda near your boss ?
And even if you did something that stupid, why not get them immediatly after the murder ? Why would you let them flee, when they are right there in the room, ready to be captured and blamed for the murder ? Why take the risk of them escaping, and reveal how the murder actually happened ?

I don't think Adam detecting you is a bug. At the tabletop game, he was always the kind of edgerunner that didn't gave a shit. He have no respect towards Saburo nor Yorinobu, so if they die, he would not give a dam. There is always someone willing to pay top eddies for a legendary solo like him. Also, he is probably tired of this spoiled kid anyway, and, as V, os not a concern for him. Pretty cool detail.
Nah, it makes perfect sense as a bug. They just re-used his model proper and cut out the fighting part of the model but not the seeing part because without the fighting part it doesn’t really matter. Much faster than hard animating him because all he does is walk and then stand.

Doubt it, if Jackie and V were to be the fallguys for Saburo Arasaka's murder why say he was poisoned? That indicates an unknown party, when you have the scapegoats already trapped. I put it down to two things spur of the moment on Yorinobu's part and just lazy writing on the Dev's part. LOL
Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the game, but the prologue part of the storyline could have used some work.
My theory is that Smasher thinks we are some part of Yorinobu's plan in dealing with Saburo. He probably got used to his employers never revealing whole truth about their plans and just stopped questioning. Besides, who would seriously believe that two low-life mercs would break in one of the most guarded penthouses in the city and hide behind that wall like some Scooby-Doo characters?

Uh, if you glitch through the garage gate to kill Smasher and then get the access token to his stash ... you can just glitch through that door on his ship, no? But sure, it's kinda interesting to see what happens when you run into Smasher outside the scripted interaction.
If you glitch through the door to his stash you can get in and get everything except for the arasaka case with the crafting spec. You need to have his access code to get that. Thatssss what he was looking to try, you can actually enter his stash at any point in the game I’m pretty sure as long as you have the double jump

It makes sense if Yorinobu planned to kill his dad all along. In that case it is all part of the plan - Smasher notices you but dose nothing, because Yorinobu needs someone to take the blame for his fathers death.
I'm pretty sure takamura knew you were behind that wall. When his red eyes look in your direction, it says "unauthorized scan detected."
That's Why He's eager to find V and in the end He decide to keep V alive because he knew V is a witness Also everyone on board members Knew yorinobou was the one who killed his own father but don't have enough evidence so they just Ride along with lies until V showed up.

My take was that he was about to discover V and is stopped from doing so. I don't think he is saving V there because it seems like he did think V might have killed the emperor until you are both attacked, making him question his assumption.
But it is possible he is only attacked because he suspected and was digging and does try and save V.
Playing through this, I literally could just tell Adam Smasher had to know I was there it looked like he was staring right at me

This is an interesting find. My theory on why Adam Smasher didn't say anything about him knowing that V is inside the the column is because he knows about the plan where Yorinobu will kill his father. So alerting the security at that time would mean Yorinobu will not get the chance to kill his father and his plan will fail. The reason why he didn't say anything the second time around when Yorinobu did kill his father is because Yorinobu's story about his father being poisoned will look sus since the killers are hiding their in the column and might even get to extract the truth. So he let it play out till the opportunity came to kill them off without raising any suspicions. This will be my take on it.

This prologue version of Smasher likely doesn't expect the player to have a threat detector mod and the developers just left the switch as always on, for when they throw his model into the Delamain escape sequence. I would not be surprised if in other areas of the game, Smasher is coded slightly differently.

Hey Khraze, you can also noclip into the CCTV rooms at konpeki and kill Mayor rhyne and Mayor Holt. You can do this anytime after the heist even if Rhyne has already died, their npcs will still be in that room and you can kill them without repercussions, they don't fight back and don't class as civilians so no notoriety. Kill the others though and you'll be wanted

it's so eerie watching him just stand there and stare through the glass at you. My theory is the reason he doesn't say anything isn't because he doesn't see you as a threat it's because Saburo probably told him at some point what he knew was going to happen, Saburo never trusted Yorinobu after his initial rebellion so he kept his enemies close and waited for Yorinobu to get anxious and make a move. The whole time Saburo was developing a consumer safe version of soul killer to live forever. At the end of the day smasher doesn't care what happens as long as he's being paid and allowed to drop anyone who crosses him.

I just played that mission. They say "it's Adam Smasher" while they are in reverse. On your clip after you destroyed him. He still crashes the car but they didn't acknowledge Adam at all.
OR you just clip into the storage and loot everything.
you can't open the briefcase without the token, you can enter the room at any point and loot the rest of the guns though
Yea @sushanth nailed it. This gives you access to the shotgun early, though you could also just get a cheat for that too. But smashing adam is more fun :)
@@Khrazegaming If you're going to use a trainer why bother? Just use the PC console mod to give yourself the token. Way easier. Or just give yourself the crafting spec directly. If you're going to cheat why do it in such a roundabout way?
if you use a cheat to clip, you can also use the cheat to get the blueprint... also, every developer can tell you the glitch of him seeing you and being a thread is not intended and has nothing to do with the story. it's simply scoped development, where the classes (code) responsible for his character and detection is one thing, but the scripted sequence a completely different part. the devs simply didn't interfere with the code for his abilities to detect you, because the scripted sequence overwrites what he has to do. sorry to break immersion :)
