      - 2 cups fine green beans, trimmed and cut in half
      - 2 cups mushrooms (button, cremini, or your choice), sliced
      - 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
      - 3 cloves garlic, minced
      - 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
      - 1 teaspoon all-purpose black pepper
      - Salt to taste
      - 1 tablespoon soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce (optional, for extra flavor)
      - 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
      #### **Instructions:**
      1. **Blanch the Green Beans**:
      - Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch them for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender.
      - Drain the beans and transfer them to an ice water bath to stop the cooking. Drain and set aside.
      2. **Sauté the Mushrooms**:
