I have the blue version of this VAX , I bought the spinscrub tool off Amazon, it works much better than the standard tool and leaves the carpet almost dry
hey mr ibasiac i would like to thank you for bringing the spin scrub wash head to my attention. this has completely changed my vax 6131 for the better and has made carpet cleaning a joy. i was debating on changin my vax for a stand up cleaner with spin scrub brushes built in but this has saved me a lot of time and money. cheers
Ibasaic I have the blue V303 wash n dry model which looks identical to this one apart from the colour. I wasn't able to tell from the video but if the waste tank has the moulding for the bag collar to slide into at the hose inlet, and the float valve assembly is removable from the motor unit (twist to unlock) then simply buying the round hepa filter (which is a push fit on the bottom of the motor unit) and a bag would convert it to dry use.
I used one of these and I think its terrible,no sort of agitation with the standard brush(I dont have the spin scrub tool, its my uncles machine so he buys parts).
You can buy the Vax Wash N Dry in Australia from Bunnings and it comes with everything here + the dry tools. Not a fan of the floor tool, reckon the classic style inverted "V" head with a trigger is better.
This is only suitable for shampooing carpets and upholstery as it doesn’t come with the dry tools and filter you need for regular vacuuming. It has been used in a demonstration on my channel but it works the same as the Vax 6131 (apart from the dry vacuuming) which has had a full demo. There are better models available for car valeting such as the Numatic George.
Do they still manufacture and sell it? I have a 6121, EXACTLY the same but it is also a vacuum cleaner. Now, why have it as a Vaccum cleaner. Let me say I cant get filters for it now. Its 15 years old! It still works, and it has been used on building sites, cleaned carpets, soaked up spill, washed car seats, been in the back of Van's, in cars, fallen down stairs and yet it still works!!!! It's not damaged and I have all the parts excluding the extension tube. But! I cant get the main circular filter anywhere? Why not? It still works for goodness sake. Why did they stop making them? Why throw away when it's still used for every thing!?! Yes, its 15 years old but then Vax must have made a good machine!
The filters are still easy to get hold of. A quick Google search of Vax 6121 filters brings up many results, including a set direct from Vax. www.vax.co.uk/filter-kit-1-9-125407-00/?___store=uk_default

I was thinking of getting a Numatic George. Have you ever used one? If so what's your opinion?
Haven't used a George.So I dont know,but avoid this one.
+Numatic Collector I think I will get a George when I can afford it
I dont think fishtail/straight suction cleaners are good.
+Carlover16 There is a George demo on my channel. It's really good for car cleaning and above floor jobs, but time consuming on carpets.

Thank you 💙
In the video you mention a link to see the Spinscrub head in action but this doesn't seem to appear.
I haven't made that video yet, but I will be very soon.
Did you ever do the demo on this as I couldn't find it. Just looking as I'm looking at buying one today for the car. Thanks

@@ibaisaic That's not the correct filter kit I promise you.
Those are the filters that fit the cleaner in this video. I’ve seen the pleated filter that you want online, but it was in Romania.
I had this for 2 years now and have used this as a normal vacuum. I had to buy a head but It dosnt matter
