This is one of the best videos I've seen about Milwaukee. You did research on history and architecture. You also have an energetic enthusiastic personality.
Had no idea Milwaukee is such a great city! its like a mini Chicago without the L, cool seeing the historic architecture there in brew city, might visit next summer!
Great way to put it bro! They definitely have a lot of historic architecture, more than I could cover in this one film but I'll be back for sure! Hope you get to visit next year 😎
Milwaukee used to have a great street car system. But it was run by Wisconsin Electric Power Company. Due to legal reasons they had to divest themselves of it. Replaced by buses. Buses do have one advantage. Greater route flexibility.
Awesome! Milwaukee rules, lived there my whole life and recently moved to Chicago (watched ur vids for that too). I was just in MKE showing my friend from Germany around. Can’t imagine visiting and not having a few beers everywhere you go. Next time you gotta go a little further south to bay view if you haven’t already! Love the vids.
Nice! Really well done video… some other options for future visits, depending on the weather: -Bradford Beach -Bay View (South Shore Park terrace/beer garden, restaurants/shops on Kinnickinnic, etc) -Milwaukee County Zoo -Milwaukee Public Museum -Custard at Leon’s, Kopps, or Gilles -The Rave/Eagles Club -River Kayaking or River/Lake cruise -Pedal Tavern through the Third Ward -Holy Hill (further out, but very cool, especially in fall) Probably missing more, but just some things from my personal list. 👍
My old man is from cudahay and grew up in Milwaukee, met my German mom after they both studied architecture at UWM. Im born in Hamburg Germany as my parents both moved over here in the 90s but I did live in Milwaukee for 4 years age 5-9 and never forgot the magic of Kopps Custard!!! Lived in Whitefishbay at the time and there was a Kopps right around the corner, I can still taste that vanilla cookie dough!
I've been to Milwaukee many times, mainly to watch the Cubs @ Miller Park (formerly known as) and Fiserv forum (steep walkways in the nosebleeds) but highly recommend going to Lakefront Brewery, their downtown is very similar to Chicago's. Also, remember going to this place called Cubanitas, it was a late night, had empanadas and sangria- spot was cozy! Just a suggestion. Great video!
Luis, thanks for this awesome overview! I’ve seen a couple of travel videos on Milwaukee and I enjoyed yours the most. I look forward to visiting this beautiful city someday!
Some items for next time?: - Water Street - Beach Volleyball - Yacht Clubs - Milwaukee Zoo - Beer Gardens - October Fest at Heidelberg Park - Germanfest - Irishfest - Italianfest - Indian Summer - Mexican fest
As a student at UW Milwaukee I thought this was a great video! I think that Bradford Beach and Oak Leaf Trail/Hank Aaron Trail are fun outdoor things to do
Visiting Chicago and Milwaukee next week. Thank you for all of your amazing and helpful content!! Your personality really shines through in these videos
Glad to see your channel growing! These cities' tourism boards need to be sponsoring you because I wanna go everywhere you recommend! Great job as always. You fit so much information into a brief video.
My hometown!! I love going home. The food, the festivals and art scene. A great place on a great lake! My school field trips growing up were amazing!! Nothing like BrewTown.
@@slickwilly6868 I grew up in a hard-working middle class family. Dad owned his own business and my aunts and uncles families had good lives, working hard and raising family. In my 20s (in the 90s) I worked for a top airline based out of Milwaukee. So, I didn't know too much negative. - on the flip side, Milwaukee these days....makes it very hard for some black people to have good housing and a good living. Which is sad.
I came across your channel and I loved the content! You're an excellent speaker and a great tour guide. TH-cam is doing itself a disservice by not promoting your videos, with your talent, you should have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. I have never seen a TH-camr who provides so much detail about a city's past, architectural marvels, museums, breweries, hotels, places to eat and enjoy the city. P.S. Cities across the US should hire you to be their spokesperson, you did an awesome job with this city. Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos.
I agree with other commentators to visit during one of the ethnic festivals in the summer, and/or Summerfest if you like music. Bryant's is classic and now we have the Public Market as well. Great job on the video!
Thanks bro! The Hop streetcar is a lot of fun to ride and it's free. For the buses, you have to download an app and buy ride passes through it - it's called Ride MCTS 🚍
Great video thanks for putting it out. I recommend the downtown marketplace and the restaurant cafe Benelux. I got a little distracted with all the different style editing but better than anything I’ve put out so thank you.
I’ve livid south of Milwaukee for over 20 years and I’m excited to go visit some of the places you talked about. Also I’m subscribing to your channel great content. Thank you be blessed!
Loved it. Bay View neighborhood is dope and an absolute must next time. Check out Odd Duck, and the South Shore beer garden nestled right along the lakefront. Great setting
That was an excellent review of my old home town. A lot of people have migrated to Milwaukee from Chicagoland because it has a similar feel at much reduced cost.
Oh no don’t do that,I seen this video like huh?? I grew up on 39th vliet and I never seen it represented like this video did .i been in Ohio now 7years I had to go…
I would love to see you guys do a video of Cedarburg Wisconsin! It's about a 20-30 min drive north west of Milwaukee and it is cute as hell! I would recommend going during a festival like Strawberry or Wine and Harvest fest but I really think you would enjoy it there. :)
Tremendous job love the way that not only does the waterfront and the history and architecture get explain so much more in this video. Love the way it all gets explained love the great lakes especially the western ones. Go Wisconsin.
Minute and a half in, Amtrak Hiawatha from Chicago, bus and streetcar, 1000 percent better than "oh it's such a walkable city, I didn't even see the streetcar" from another youtuber with a Milwaukee vid.
Well done Luis! Your historical backstories were great and I appreciate the variety of topics you both covered. I've lived here over 50 years now and you even taught me some new things! Some suggestions for next time; The Safe House, Harley Davidson Museum, Summerfest, Shaker's Ghost tour, to name a few...
If u think is very interesting one should check out "The Making of Milwaukee" as one sees here its a crying shame what Milwaukee use to be in the beginning and how it came to be one of the most manufacturer capital of the Great Lake Region, still a great place although I remember as some would say in the good old days in the 70's
Wow thank you for the video. We moved to the Milwaukee area a little over 2 years ago and love it here. Originally from Michigan. We're still exploring and have been to a few things so far. Taking the ferry to Michigan this weekend to visit family and want to take the train to Chicago this year also. Again thank you
I agree with you so much about the protected bike lanes. They need to expand the bike lanes and build more protect street area for the bikers. The drivers in Milwauke are craaaazy and way worse than Chicago. People blow red lights all the damn time like it's no big deal. That's why a lot of people ride the limes and their bikes on the sidewalks.
Finally someone calls out the drivers here! I moved to downtown Milwaukee from L.A. in '19 and I am loving the walkability of the city, but I find the freakishly aggressive driving, especially on the freeways, absolutely terrifying! Wisconsinites blame Illinois drivers for everything, but it seems all midwest drivers are on a death wish...
I believe if Milwaukee had 1 or 2 really tall skyscrapers it could compete with Dallas and San Diego and would be bigger than Minneapolis and Denver.Milwaukee is already a known u.s. major city. All 5 of those are on the major cities list.Because I met somebody from Milwaukee actually he lived outside of Milwaukee.Any ways we were in Houston and he told me that Houston ain't too much bigger than Milwaukee.Thats what he said.

This is probably the best video about Milwaukee I've ever seen, and I say that as a Milwaukee local.
I grew up in Lincoln village from 65 to 84. You have represented Milwaukee very well. You make me want to go back and visit.
I love living in Milwaukee. I once lived down the street from Laverne & Shirley, those were some Happy Days!!!

planning a trip to Milwaukee from Sydney Australia, this video was really informative and entertaining!
