One piece is the first anime I ever watched where you feel like you’re in an actual WORLD. You hear about world building as a concept, but OP does so many little things to make you feel like the story is taking place on an entire planet, with different stuff going on everywhere. There are so many things that make this show great, but even this early you’re beginning to see how big it is.
I'll give it that, I don't like one piece frfr, cuz it be feeling mad slow. But it beats every else in terms of world building. Even when I watched the marine arc( the only one, plus the Amazon arc) the world felt bigger than most animes. How does it compare to jjk?

The moment that Zoro calls Luffy “king of the pirates” is such a good touch if he didn’t say that I probably wouldn’t like the moment as much but man that’s such a good touch

I am just imagining with the current pacing contraint the anime has, Mihawk cutting the ship in half would have at least 15 secs of hype music, 10 secs of Mihawk slowly pulling his sword, and then 3 mins of Krieg's men screaming as the ship goes down. Here, it's done in like 20 secs.

That was the time where Oda didnt take breaks and the animators could animate more than one chapter per episode. Dont worry the pacing in the current anime will change soon because of the acts.

i say let them decide their own pace. they can wear it if they truly feel like it, not just because of passing some number
when level 1 player challenge the strongest player in the server.
The one thing about Luffy is he is patient and doesn't intervene if youre his friend and you want to do something. He was so pissed you could tell but didn't let anyone interfere with Zoro and Mihawks scrap.
Thats what i love about one piece man. It makes you laugh and makes you cry.

It's always funny to go back to this fight and realize that Mihawk had some mad Haki on he's side. like how he blocked right at the point when Zoro's attack had all three swords crossed or deflecting bulelts.
Oda really showing off things that wouldn't be in the spotlight for many chapters/episodes to come.
Zoro is such a good right hand man he respects luffy and always says what right at the good moments you will see further in the series

This is the episode which got me hooked to One Piece. Furthermore, I feel like this marks the beginning of the journey. The arcs that follow are lit! Additionally, because of the slow pacing you will come to appreciate a lot of these moments even more in retrospect. It only gets better from here on. The story builds on itself and all of these past moments make you feel rewarded later on. Keep going!
