    Still, it's hard to believe that, with all of these judges saying how much style means to them, kaku can still win with a headspin competition while Do Knock was actually dancing.

    Do Knock's style is amazing!
    I wish he was in the "right" Red Bull BC One, like Cloud and Bruce Almighty were at the right place and at the right time

  • @Slider821tube
    @Slider821tube  17 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    But you can see the different emphasises on what is considered breakdancing by whoever these bboys learned from. Kaku would do a headspin(power move) and Do Knock would answer with some of the sickest dancing and uprock in BC One 06, and Kaku would answer that set with another headspin. This is the reason Lilou, Hong 10, and especially Ronnie win; they are outstanding at both.

    Do-Knock's sets were unfinished, sloppy and were very short. Kaku showed many different feats and he always completed his sets. Kaku listened to the music greater as well (i have seen the orig music) and that is why Kaku won!

    In comps like this the judges see if you can be fresh and pull out things they didn't see you do in any of the previous battles. So he was most likely just conserving his best moves for later to raise his chances of winning/

    @KimGeestatus we're not even talking about being able to do head spins better than kaku, we are saying that he shouldn't have won and do knock should have moved onto the next round, the only move that kaku did in reality were headspins but do knock owned kaku with footwork and style, so dont comment if you dont know what you're commenting about

  • @DemianRX
    @DemianRX 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do knock should have won, but i think that it was because he didnt use his round to the fullest like Kaku and he did more stuff like butterfly kicks then sixstep and breaking.. but if it were me, i'd say do knock had the whole round in his pocket, no doubt (even the crowd said so, biggest boo in rb-bc1 history)

  • @ismbc09ers

    i actually like that do-knock won although i've got so much more respect for style... do-knock's sets were highly impressive though and even though he won, he wouldn't have lasted the whole competition anywayz... he just went all out... much respect to both bboys

  • @patelkedar
    @patelkedar 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm surprised kaku won... Usually I hate it when judges always go for style in a power vs. style battle, but do-knock actually had some pretty snazzy moves.
    Though Kaku did do some nice variations.

  • @DemianRX
    @DemianRX 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    In our hearts, do knock won because he was more entertaining and everybody allready knew Kaku wouldnt bring something else then headspinning. but i think that do knock didnt go on mainly because he messed up his last set. but still.. do knock is still a real good example for how to battle (explosive, variant, crowd pleasing and enjoying himself)
    not many people do that these days (like; ow, ok you ended your turn? ok let me slowly start my turn and then i'll.. NO!! Just do the damn thing!)

    all right... for sure do-knock is one of the most unique bboys up in bboying so dont go underestimating him. I've seen him rock vegas shakedowns from the start and you can see he was holding back here
    check out 2:20... one of his sickest sets

  • @JkDiggyPal
    @JkDiggyPal 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    i agree about that too,
    kaku's really repetitive..he always do the headspin to 2000's set,even do knock can predict what kaku wants to do when kaku do his 1st set,you can know that when you see do knock's reaction,he rose up his hands and showed the 2000's move from 0.30 till 0.33~

    as far as difficulty goes,kaku took it.but repetitiveness with little variation in his freezes took away from that.do knock on the other hand had musicality,originality,and each set differentiated from the last.however the crash he had on the last set probably cost him.but i still woulda gave it to him.

    @EUBE325
    Bro, I was bashing people who always attack Powermovers, go re read my comment. What I am saying, is people take the word "style" and automatically associate it with 6 steps and air chairs. In reality, style is not a genre of dance. No bboy does "style" moves. They either focus on power, footwork, blow ups, or any combination or variation of those moves and the end result is his/her style.
    And if you go back to my ORIGINAL comment, I am actually defending Kaku.

  • @inland75
    @inland75 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    My view is that Do-Knock should have won 2 rounds to 1 but really it's not as outrageous as people think. First round I give it to Kaku especially if he hit that freeze on beat. Do Knock has mad flavor but his entire first set was top rock, wtf is that spent 3 seconds on footwork. Horrible set for BC one. 2nd set I give Doknock because Kaku crashed hard still though WTF Do-Knock's set it wasn't even complete,he just cut it off making it strange.Third set I give Do Knock but even he crashed.

  • @bboyNicolle
    @bboyNicolle 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeah I agree do--knock won
    even I idolize kaku a lot
    cuz i think do-knocks style is better than cloudds style
    and cloud defeated kaku while kaku defeated do-knock
    a bit confusing, i just want to blame the judges
    say whatever they want but thats the game of bboy battles
    theyr viicory lies in the hands of the judges
    bot like basketbell theres no judges the truth shall prevail
    you really need to struggle to win
    and it deseves it

  • @lupinyonsei
    @lupinyonsei 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @dzjai look. I love doknocks tops. He has one of the best flavour and style in his tops. but this isn't a toprock battle. and he wasnt doing shit in his first set. and his endings to his sets were horribe. In his second set why didn't he stop it at 2:24? why did he get up and toprocked for another 10 seconds? if your finisher/ending move is gonna be some weak sauce shit like that, its better to not even do it. his third set didn't have a good finisher either.

  • @Flavorbaby
    @Flavorbaby 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @qnzchoe You're right. It's not a matter of who had a better six step. It's a matter of opinion. It seems like both of ours are informed and I respect yours. I also respectfully disagree. I also can't agree that there's no such thing as power vs. style. YES it's all bboying. And under that roof each bboy/bgirl has their own flavor. In terms of style, Do Knock and Kaku are set apart on almost binary terms. The only way to be ignorant here is to assume that there is a right answer.

  • @Qurash
    @Qurash 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    anybody who says Kaku has no style is a hater
    i mean just because he is doing power doesn´t mean he has no style...he has good energetic toprocks and has his own headspin variation (spinning on the back of his head) his transitions are really difficult and unique and he ends his sets with freezes on beat...so i dont see why he has no style...
    dont get me wrong i like Do Knock´s style very much he is a crazy dancer and a good allrounder but u have to show it or you lose

  • @JohnnyXYo2003
    @JohnnyXYo2003 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think Do Knock just wasn't feeling it that day. All bboys have their "off" days. This, to me, looks like one of those days. Do knock fell a few times. If you all look closely, I'm sure you guys can see it.
    2:21, 3:15, 3:19, 3:25. May not seem like it, because he tries to cover them up, but they look like falls to me. At least 3 of them do. Feel free to express your opinions, I welcome them. This was just mine.

  • @ooCHENGhanglow
    @ooCHENGhanglow 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    I personally think do knock is the better bboy because he can do other things besides headspins and its variations. BUT having said that, do knock deserved to loose this battle cause he didnt go all out. his sets were short, barely had ANY footwork, and consisted of a few tricks and freezes.
    If do knock went all out im sure he would of won. but you dont judge a battle on potential, you judge whats in front of you.

  • @ykkvn
    @ykkvn 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Im sick and tired of every1 complaining about how Kaku had no footwork and shit. Yea its true but simply having more footwork than the other guy doesnt determine the winner. Kaku is a pwrhead so he will do mostly powermoves. everyone acts like footwork is more important than pwrmoves. if someone doesnt do footwork then everyone is pissed off. if someone doesnt do pwrmoves then nobody gives a damn. come on ppl pwrheads are as legit as ne style head out there so start giving them some respect.

  • @dogbitebboy

    first of all.. I HATE REDBULL BCONE WHEN THEY CHANGE THEIR FUCKING MUSIC TO KYLE-MIGNOUE-ASS-TECHNO! But, since I've allready watched it, I gotta say that Do knock got robbed.
    I dont care if you do power, footwork, style or anyother thing you guys are babbling about!..
    You can go to a workshop and LEARN style! But what you can't learn at workshops is FLAVA, ORIGINALITY AND MUSICALITY! If you got them, you win. Since it's not original music I can only judge by flava, KNOCK has it, kaku NOT!

  • @SluggaSlamoo
    @SluggaSlamoo 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    The fact that Kaku uses headspins as his linking move (instead of 6 step) is original in itself.
    No offense but don't you reckon you are being 'biased' by saying, "all kaku does is headspins and DoKnock did everything?" Kaku did blow-ups, freezes, top-rock, he linked all his moves with headspins.
    Compare that to Do-Knock who didn't link anything, he did martial arts tricking, popping, and flips. You don't score points if you don't bboy. Do-Knock didn't try and paid the price. :P

  • @deftbeats
    @deftbeats 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    nope... i've been watching Do Knock for a while now. First thing that comes to mind when i think of Do Knock is wild flips, fancy chairs and few clean powers, which is pretty much what a "BREAK DANCER" need. He has a very weak "BBOY" foundations and flava compared to other Bboys such as Roxrite, Kareem, or machine. I'm not saying his moves are bad. They look really cool and fancy. But that's not what bboying is all about. Peace.

  • @VoteWithYourFeet
    @VoteWithYourFeet 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    i think do-knock had more 2 offer he thought that his extreme style(what do-knock thinks) could beat kaku extreme power but obviously the judges disagreed with that

  • @bboygenetics15
    @bboygenetics15 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MackDaddyOnTheTrack
    Whoah whoah, dude I agree with your 1st paragraph, but wtf? How do you know if he even danced on beat? This music is just another music that Red Bull used to overlap the real music that was played during the event. I'm not really sure how you assumed this was the actual music that they danced to.

  • @MackDaddyOnTheTrack
    @MackDaddyOnTheTrack 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Powermover001
    Really I have no clue what I am talking about? I know enough to realize that style does not equal footwork like some of the people on this comment section are yelling about.
    STYLE ALWAYS BEATS POWER!!!111!!!one!!!shift+1!1eleventy!!
    In actuality style has nothing to do with a specific move, but a specific move in relation to the dancer him/herself

  • @LtJohnnyWalker
    @LtJohnnyWalker 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kaku was a bit repetitive, doing headspins and 2000's, which is pretty good, but I have to agree Do Knock had more style, but hardly did any floorwork..... And remember that the winner of this battle had to face Hong 10. I don't think either Do Knock or Kaku had any potential to be BC1 champions....But heck, I respect their work towards becoming better.

  • @petervsays
    @petervsays 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    the reason why kaku won is because of his attitude and vibe, he maybe be headspinning but hes giving his hardest, like he wants to win. Do knock is good but i suppose judges would expect more out of him. Just know that you cant walk into a jam "just for fun" if youre there you better bring your A game with you. Dont make yourself look like an Ass.

  • @bboynezz
    @bboynezz 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Exactly you can COPY a style in five minutes but you need years to make it, damm i mean kaku is just like any other bboy exactly the same, i´ve been bboy for 3 years and i know actually what´s hard and what you can get just training, you need to know more about our culture to make a comend, Think then be

  • @ANDJedi
    @ANDJedi 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    you obviously know nothing of bboying. Going from a headspin into a 2000 is NOT something every bboy can do. Kaku has his skills based on headspins thats why he does them and they judge him on that.
    Both bboys are dope as hell and the judging was fair.
    Stop trying to impress by thinking you know what you're talking about.

  • @dadwolv
    @dadwolv 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do-knocks style was awesome.... but GOD he was boring. Kaku had fast rock and his spins were really exciting. There's no 1 way to win a dance battle so you gotta sell your performance whether it's rocking or head spins. His last set was great and I know he couldv'e performed better in the other sets. I would like to see him come back in 09 but this year was not it.

  • @DanielKeithMorrison
    @DanielKeithMorrison 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    i think thats the problem..his footwork are headspins. He has no footwork, no foundation my dude. Predictable moves, u see kaku and u know the man is gonna do a head spin. Knock had much more style...a BBOY component that is Key! He did stunts that accomadated to his moveset. He shouldn't have lost to that guy, just like lilou to the brasil dude.

    Why the fuck are people making bboying like a math problem? Why the fuck do people say style - power. Why do people think a six step to a chair can beat an airtrack to headspin combo. Please tell me. Kaku won cause he was energetic and clean. Do Knock crashes and WTF is what that 10 second set.

  • @2ill1313
    @2ill1313 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    storm really needs to stop judging redbull bc one. i mean he did the samething when he voted against omar when he gave it to lilou when all the while he wasnt even clean. but anyway, this was years ago and now its pointless and even then was to debate when do knock got robbed.

  • @remzrider107
    @remzrider107 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do Knock has more style and versatility. He has some nasty footwork, but he didn't use any of it. This was essentially a battle of power vs. tricks. But if do-knock used his footwork, it would become a battle of power vs. style, and we all know that good style beats good power any day

  • @OrangeQuestionMark
    @OrangeQuestionMark 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Every powermover has a base power. If you wanna complain about kaku's repetition look at the end, or cico. AIRFLARE every set, that's their base. Do-knock was full of himself, cut his sets short 'cause he "knew" he was gonna win. judges were right on this one.

  • @randomality
    @randomality 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @lupinyonsei all kaku did was headspins into a freeze. his second and third set were almost identical. do knock had WAAAY more style and musicality. if powermoves are all that's necessary, then gymnasts and martial arts trickers should compete as that's all they do.

  • @OzzieSean

    Woulda been interesting to see a Hong 10 vs. Do Knock battle. I do feel as though Do Knock shoulda taken this... Kaku's headspins, windmills, and 2000s are dope anyone can agree, but what caused him the loss with Hong 10 was his lack of variation and footwork. Good battle though...

    yeah yeah do knock's good but he lost that battle... he underestimated his opponent flavor doesn't always win against power.. people always tryin to hate on power.. but what ya may lack in flavor make up for it with power or vice verse...unless your names machine,hong 10, you know the rest

    not saying tht powerheads shouldnt have footwork but i am saying its not necessary. besided the end got 4th place. but yea i do believe that all around bboys are better but i just don like it when ppl complain about how someone doesnt do footwork so they dont deserve to win.

    tht makes no sense. thats like taking a superpower away from a superhero and expecting the same results. Kaku is good at headspins so of corse hes gonna use them. its not like he ONLY does headspins like aichi or lazer. hes just a powerhead who incorporates headspins in his sets.

    I think the strategy for this compitition when it comes to early rounds you should show more power moves and how pro you are as a bboy then by the finals you should show more style this only my opinion though do knock should have shown more power he would have won

    so if doing only styles in battles. is 100% win? What about a power head? don't they have chance? and wth? almost everything is about the American way. I know it's simple to stay on beat. be creative. have originality. but is that all? I know bboying isn't showmanship but to "Express" one's self.

    do knock has really strange style. he only focused mainly on toprock and flips with some footwork. pretty cool actually. respect for kaku's endless headspins though. i would literally vomit out of my broken neck from all of those headspins.

    If only Do Knock had like a few more power moves instead of stunts like flips. I mean, yes Do Knock should've won but he should've had some flares, windmills, munchmills, etc. Cuz like it's not all flips. But yeah he definitely should have won

    not really he should have won still kaku did the same shit everytime i mean its a shame when someone loses to only head spins and a few 2000s dont get me wrong they were awsome but a few moves shouldnt win a battle either way this is a old one lol

    And do-knock isn't a "noob" (by the way, saying that word makes you look uneducated about bboying). I'm not dogging on Kaku's skills, but what can be said about him is that he went away from the foundation of bboying throughout his life.

    I expect to see this on a episode of first 48, cause someone got murdered!!!!! Seriously though I thought it was supposed to be a competition. One guy I didnt want to stop and the other guy stopped before i saw what he did.

    @shatda dude.. Kaku only does head spins, thats kinda lame for a bboy, Do Knock is a more complete dancer, he pulls acrobatics, popping, old school moves, great footwork, Do Knock won the battle from the first round

    @lupinyonsei Really??? I am a big Kaku fan but man..he was out classed. Do knock had MAD style and funk. Kaku had....headspins... barely any style at all... there gots to be a fine line that divides dance and gymnastics....

    do knock also has a limited number of moves... he does the same ones every battle, but he does have a good hiphop background... he can really dance to the beat. still.... do knock should bring it some more moves.

    What's the name of the song? it's tight.
    I think do knock has hell of style, but kaku just had more tricks than he did.
    do knock isn't really worried about it though, he's doing wonders on abdc. much props to doknock and kaku.
