I wish I lived in middle Tennessee. I’d come up there and have some fun with you working. I’ve always loved how you are so organized. I’m a sole proprietor here in Ga and I also love being organized and doing an above and beyond job for my customers.
Love to watch you grow man! I’ve been a HVAC technician for 10 years now and you’ve helped me become the Technician I am today over the years. If I end up moving to TN, save a job for me? 😂
You are one of the better systematic persons out there. It makes the control of both smooth working conditions and the parts are easily found. I tried to be in the same position myself, but not at your level. Just one thing that surprises me is that many of you in the field don’t use a box to contain all screws and small parts. So irritating and time consuming to find the items you dropped by an accident. I always used a simple plastic box to secure small parts😬 Wish you luck with your projects😊
Here in Las Vegas, not a lot of reliable HVAC companies. The one I use is a Mitsubishi "Diamond" associated as they do a lot of Mitsubishi systems such as the units in my home, ducted splits, Citi Multi unit outside. Not in the HVAC business myself but what I see coming out of the HVAC equipment makers seems to be the same old, same old thing. Since most homes here are production homes slapped by national building companies, they use the cheapest equipment with questionable instlattion due simply to the speed in which they have to finish one job and move to the next.
Those days to take care of all those things behind the scenes is so valuable. You might not be turning wrenches. But you sure are maintaining your business though behind the scenes.
I just wished ! I’m Texas but will be going to West Fork, Arkansas . I’ll be finishing my HVAC schooling in the end of July and I’m learning a lot. I wished I could work with a person with integrity, like yours . Best of wishes to your new and future endeavors! Cheers . P.S.: I’ll keep following your videos !
such an inspiration man , makes me want to take my time , i can do full system w my eyes closed but this guy makes me want to slow down and put more quality in my work love the contnet
You have humility and even with all your experience you still believe that you have learning to do. With that said, I believe you will continue to be successful
Best of luck on your expansion. I understand your goal of having a customer base that isn’t scattered halfway around the world but don’t forget your original customers that may not be so close . THEY made you what you are today. Again, good luck 👍👍
Big commercial hvac companies usually do jobs the right way. For instance they will have a design engineer(company overhead intensive) size and spec duct sizes and equipment compatibility. Small companies that play in the commercial real typically don't have a design e.gineer on staff and resort to "rule of thumb" guesses for duct sizing and equipment selection. These little guys make lots of profit by not having the designer eng on staff. All the problems associated with this are not immediately understood by the small company or the highering commercial business.
I think what can help you with the HVAC companies work culture being more fun is to also encourage your techs to grab a camera or GoPro, and film themselves work while educating their audience about HVAC. From a business and marketing perspective, that will help your brand and company get the name out as well. “Oh yeah, I remember the service tech Joe, he did a good job repairing my unit and I enjoy watching his videos!” Can go a long way and shows the value of their employee.
Please make a video installing the duct sock! I’ve serviced some commercial systems that had it but never gotten to install it. I think a video of the install would be awesome!
I’m slowly expanding myself, gotta train the guys to always do things the right way especially when no one is watching 😎 I’m guessing $250 for the scrap
$199 for the scrap. Would’ve got way more if you would have cut it up and separated the copper and aluminum but I’m sure you ain’t got time for that this time of year. We save all our old equipment from change outs until it slows down and separate all the copper and aluminum from the sheet metal and steel. We also scrap the fan motors and compressors separately too. They pay the maximum dollar amount if it’s separated and the boss usually gives us a decent bonus when we scrap it all. I work at a small company so it’s a decent bonus because it’s only split between a couple guys.
Thinking that you did not think about extending out that condensate trap. Will get stepped on, kicked and broken in probably just days by almost even by you with showing us that you can cut a 3/4" PVC pipe
if only all bosses think like you man. i hear all the time " i cant find good employees" and now im starting to see it the opposite we are lookking for a good boss lmao ive been doing this for 7 years and ive only had 1 good boss that actually cared which is crazy sad.
Have you ever replaced a factory blower delay control with a 90-340 relay? I do it all the time. Saves a second trip to replace a board that’s going to go bad again Just curious
Would love for you to talk more about this business transition. When your buying this company does it come with anything other then the client list? How does your business absorb them? 469$
I’ve been wanting this start my own shop but I’m honestly intimidated and quite frankly scared of the marketing aspect because I know if the phone ain’t ringing I ain’t making money…
29.68 cents you could’ve gotten a lot more taking it apart and separating the metal so I’m sure they didn’t pay what it was worth. Maybe even less than what I said.
I was with a company that did that……they got burned cause they guy that was selling the company didn’t give the main business number and was able to keep 70percent of the clients illegally along with thousands of dollars. The guy literally stole.
Can you please do a video on that duct sock install, that sounds very interesting. Thanks. Congratulations on the growth of your business.
Airsocks! I was a hater until i tried it!
Works really good

I agree with the container. I love a magnetic tray for car work.

Congrats on growing your company man! Awesome to watch you grow as a business owner. Scrap guess is $110.00
Please take care of yourself. I pushed myself too hard and ended up with 5 heart bypasses.
Please make a video installing the duct sock! I’ve serviced some commercial systems that had it but never gotten to install it. I think a video of the install would be awesome!
20:45 that pull out drawer is nice!!!!

I’m slowly expanding myself, gotta train the guys to always do things the right way especially when no one is watching 😎 I’m guessing $250 for the scrap
It’s really a shame that more HVAC techs aren’t as methodical and efficient as you are. Your new employees will have a lot of learning to do.
I really like your energy and integrity! Thanks for sharing.
Congrats on the expansion of the business! $385 for the scrap
Oh buddy, pumped for you. Congrats!

8:35 Couldn't agree more.
Not a bad idea with the drain. I would be worried about someone kicking it now cutting the grass.
Congrats 🍾 🤙🏼💯💯
Thinking that you did not think about extending out that condensate trap. Will get stepped on, kicked and broken in probably just days by almost even by you with showing us that you can cut a 3/4" PVC pipe
Hvac Boss has a great operation and culture
Congrats
I believe you got around $80 for that scrap. That's if they give you credit for not disassembling it. If they wrote it up as shred it's about $35
If I lived in Tennessee I would definitely apply 👍🏼
*SCRAP GUESS: $20 FOR THE FURNACE, $15 FOR THE COIL*
if only all bosses think like you man. i hear all the time " i cant find good employees" and now im starting to see it the opposite we are lookking for a good boss lmao ive been doing this for 7 years and ive only had 1 good boss that actually cared which is crazy sad.
We have the same vision
HEY! Good morning! Good for you! Congrats !!
Congrats on the next company step105.00 on the scrap metal.
Have you ever replaced a factory blower delay control with a 90-340 relay? I do it all the time. Saves a second trip to replace a board that’s going to go bad again Just curious
On the scrap it, is that the whole unit or are you breaking it down and getting the reefer/coil price or scrap metal price?
Finding employees is the most difficult challenge on any business but trades are the worst people to make them work as a team
Hello buddy, where can I get a cabinet drawer like the one you have by the sliding door?
Congrat's on the new business vwnture.
I'm guessing $123 for the scrap.
29.68 cents you could’ve gotten a lot more taking it apart and separating the metal so I’m sure they didn’t pay what it was worth. Maybe even less than what I said.
Yea that wasn’t scrapping the units

Where did you get the leather multi-tool holder on your belt.

By the way, I’m guessing you got about $200.00 for scraping those units! It is a lot of copper.👍
I'm guess $105 for scrapping the old system!
I was with a company that did that……they got burned cause they guy that was selling the company didn’t give the main business number and was able to keep 70percent of the clients illegally along with thousands of dollars. The guy literally stole.
Might be interested
268 🍻 congratulations 👏

Finding and hiring good techs and installers is the toughest part of this trade and probably all of the others as well.
You probably received about $170 from only package unit and the other 2 pieces of old equipment
I'm from Philippines I want to apply your company
