I have a 20 in terrible shape, that has a horse shoe printed on the back. Looks like the same ink used on the rest. Has little yellow 20s over the top of the horse shoe. Never seen this before, course I never really looked for it either. 🙂

I think people at the mint make eras and then keep the bills and sell them later somehow because you never see the super rare finds but somehow they exist
They give them to Congressmen and women as presents. The Treasury also gives them out to people as recognition. So that’s who has the majority of the rare ones…already rich people

I worked at the Washington, DC facility as an occupational health RN and had to frequently leave the unit on emergency calls to the printing room. It wouldn't surprise me if someone did this on purpose.
I Have several $20 bills that were printed correctly...shouldn't they be more valuable than one that wasn't printed correctly? 😃
That's how it works for everything else....like someone's going to pay more for a broken television, than one that actually works 🤔

Well its collectors who set that price and they want somwthing rare. Most prints are correct so that is common and no collector wpuld want Something everyone has but misprints making it to circulation are incredibly rare so every collector wants Something no one else has

I just Google every single bill and coin.

2022 d dime errors, or
2013 dollar bill,
Or something like that. I always start with the date and what it is and Google always has tons of info.

I have a hard time believing that stuff like this makes it circulation. The person that laid this sticker on this note probably snagged it b4 leaving work that day and they probably sold it and made a ton of money on it.

I found a $20 bill with a long black angled line beginning under the end of “ United” all the way through the arm to his chin. I don’t know if it’s a smear but I believe it could be from the president or director of a bank. But you experts will know and let me know as I’m not a collector and would like to sell it. It’s dated 2013. I searched on eBay for $20 items sold going back 5 years and found NONE. I can furnish photos upon request.

Question : do you know what they do if they mess up a sheet of paper twice? So they mess it up once and have to print star notes but what if they mess it up again? Do they have to add 2 stars? (Lol I know this isn’t how it works but) it seems unlikely that there is any distinguishability between them as I’ve never heard about it. Thanks!
During the printing process, the sheets are scanned. If an error is found, the whole batch is destroyed and replaced with a Star Note. They do not interrupt the printing process, they keep the Printing Machines running. That is why the amount of Star Notes are almost always in the millions, and not just 1,000, 10,000, or even 100,000 notes. The BEP has to keep a record of all Star Notes produced, and that information is made public, so you can find that information out...
If the Replacement Star Notes are scanned & found to have an error, they are replaced, just as if they were part of the first run of Star Notes. As of today, I can't remember ever reading, or hearing about that even happening...
I have a package of 100 $1.00 & $2.00 Star Notes. Both are from the 2013 Series. These Notes came directly from the BEP, and still have their Banding on them, so they never made it past a Federal Reserve bank, to one of the Local Banks...
Since I collect American Silver Eagle coins, I have a subscription for them at the US Mint, so I automatically get them on the first day of issue every year.
Because of an internal screw-up at the San Fransisco Mint, I had to call the 1-800 number and talk to a live person because my coins were never processed. During our conversation, we got on the subject of error coins. I asked the woman I was speaking with if an employee ever caused any errors, and she said yes, she remembered that there were two employees that were creating error coins. They didn't get fired but they never got to keep any of the error coins they played a part in making...

I have a 1950 $5 bill that has an E just below the date on it and the numbers on it is a B 106 72332 G and just below the bee there's a two on it it's got two on four corners it's still in fairly good shape for it to be that old of a $5 bill it's a 1950
