  • Last week I received a big box of Benzak Denim Developers Denim. It's full of good things, but just what are we going to look at first?
    I think we'll kick this series off with the brand new natural indigo eco denim. This incredibly sustainable denim has been used in the very well established B-01 slim fit, the W-01 womens fit and the BDJ-01 denim jacket. Let's dive into the details of the jeans and jacket while talking a little about the denim itself, after al, its something a bit different. It's non-selvedge!
    Check out the pieces here!

    Surprisingly Wrangler's "original cowboy cut" is a great raw non selvedge jean for the price, usually 30 USD. It has a unique broken twill construction and one of the best waist tapers I've seen on a pair of pants. The only downside is that if you happen to accidentally wash it. It will become a very eye wrenching light blue with very little room for fade progression.

    All of these denim videos I get recommended on YT are really making me want a Tellason coverall jacket. Whether the stock, non-selvedge 14 oz version or the 16 oz selvedge one. I can't recall, have you talked about that brand before? Seems to be quality, never had anything from Tellason myself. Wouldn't mind something from Benzak too, that clean foldover on the inside is honestly amazing. More companies should do that.

      Mate, that is a classic style! So super good. And the fade so so well.
      I am a big fan of Tellason and I know they guys well. I just don't have any of their jeans as yet. So thats why I've not mentioned them so far.
      To be honest, I might just go with the Stock: shop.heddels.com/products/tellason-stock-coverall-jacket?ktk=UEdKczZRLWViMWVkNTVhMjNh&tap_a=10641-64f549&tap_s=788040-80a7f5
      At that price it is a total steal... Ooft, but just looking... the Standard selvedge one is super nice! And that heavier denim will just fae down so nicely around the pocket details.

      Hey Duke, I was always wondering about the IH non-selvedge. I think that their bootcuts are non selvedge but someone told me they were cut from selvedge denim but the selvedge edge was removed to accommodate the shape.... couldn't confirm so I was not that sure. Benzak is really an incredible denim brand (and i'm not just saying that cause Lenn is a mate ;) they just really make fantastic jeans.
      In N. America, Division Rd. has a good range of their products: divisionroadinc.com/collections/benzak-denim-developers?ktk=UEdKczZRLWZiMTFmNDJkODc0&tap_a=12702-3352c3&tap_s=788040-80a7f5

      Cee Are Dee I was surprised to hear that Benzak sources their denim from Berto mills. I thought they only offered Candiani denim. Now I'm even more curious. I'll have to see if they offer more traditional cut jeans with a roomier top. I like a higher rise with five buttons. That jacket is fantastic! I'm not sure about the lighter weight fabric but the details are perfect. Great review and thanks for the link. I'll check it out. Take care.

    • @CeeAreDee
      @CeeAreDee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha. Love getting into the details. I can’t say it makes a big difference one way or the other for me. 7 belt loops are more commonly known in chinos and tailored pants. Jeans on the other hand were workwear and therefore I guess it was a cost cutting thing, dropping 2 belt loops. The Levi’s 606s from the 70s had 7 belt loops. The 606 Was this Stange missing linke Form workwear to fashion. That’s the only one I can think of off the top of my head.
