Torch is made with coal, it burns, make some fired coal flakes. So that's why torch has those textures. Redstone dust is Radioactive metallic dust, bonded onto a stick. So torch flakes textures isn't that fitting for redstone torch. The new redstone torch is more accurate than previous
The original red stone torch design is the same thing as a torch, but with its flame, this actually a difference between the red stone torch and the torch, it's just that the red stone torch has a red outline on the top.
I really want this update on bedrock as well. Also the suspended rails despite not connected to a full block rail is something very small but also very useful.
