+I am Coast2coastLoud I strapped two of them on five dual 4 ohm subs to a final load of 1.6 ohms total so .8 per amp and its absolutely the cheapest way to get really loud very cost effectively.
just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to make these videos. It really helps us consumers know what's bullshit out there and what's worth our hard earned money! Keep up the good work!
damn bro i had no idea you even did this video already...i missed the notification or something. They sent it to me to test so i would have still had to do it anyway. But at least NOT knowing you already did it makes me feel like i didn't copy you haha....because i really didn't know. Oh well.
+meade916 It's all good. I wasn't sent the amp from the mfg, but from a guy who bought one and was curious about it. My test shows slightly less voltage, so it's cool to have both tests...one with strong electrical (your test) and mine with slightly sagging voltage
+Dereck BigDWiz I was coming to ask this. So this was an amplifier purchased by someone and not a "ringer" from the manufacturer?! I will be buying one of these I think.
+Dereck BigDWiz +meade916 If anything, I would consider more tests a good thing. Don't think of it as competing with each other, think of it as educating the consumer. Thank you both.
thanks for testing this amp Big D! I've been looking at it for a couple of months but then I seen the guy on Facebook that said he was only getting 900 watts rms from it. I think I'm going to purchase it now.
Brent Dunnaway mine are 4 years old 2x strapped @ 1.33 ohms on 3 12’s still beating down. Strapped shouldn’t be no lower than 2 ohms but I figured cheap amps and I’ll just buy more but still with the same amps 4 years later.
wow now that's what I call a lazer fast reply Big D...thank you & I love ur gig here on TH-cam BTW.Not that u need be told such a thing as I'm sure your following speaks for itself.I'm an "early days" audiophile from back in the late 70's til now & cannot believe what we can build now for 8 grand compared to the days when a Pioneer GM 120 was $300(cad)& driver selection was at a less than moderate selection from which to choose & if u hated the radio & would rather listen to your homemade tapes a KP 88G deck was a highlight.Ancient s#*t compared to double Dins of today but hey like everything..it all has a starting point & let us thank all involved who has gotten us to what we can own/listen to today as the sky's the limit now.Anyway my man awesome gig as I say keep r goin.
Kayhub uhh yea i womder wht those fuckers really do there subs are not bad for entry level y ok u just have to watch the rms cuz most rated 800 but only 125rms lol crazy but i wanna see it amp test
Can't like this video enough... you must be a hell of a poker player to not show some excitement. I am an old school guy to the core, I said once upon a time that I'd never by another newfangled amp but for the price...sheesh! $200 USD who cares? This is a super car audio bargain! Pushin' 3 RE 12's currently @ .67 ohm and it doesn't get hot or shut down and I'm in Arizona. Bought it last summer so it has seen the HEAT! Your're correct 1% thd is inaudible anyways and this amp...WOW! Strap 2 of these for a test and see some really crazy numbers, I'm sure ! This video has re-kindled my Car Audio fascination as the price is right. Warning to buyers... it WILL exceed your stock electrical charging and battery capacity. Wow! Once again every time I see this video It appears that you are ready for the big let down, but it doesn't happen. Talk about power, I owned 2 ea 100HC Audio Art before and the CAB's power exceeds them combined easily, the power is that apparent.$200 BUX... hallelujah! Manna from the car audio gods! Not to mean HiFonics!
I really do appreciate you testing amps like you do Derek. That is pretty damn impressive for a 200 dollar amplifier no doubt about that. I wouldn't be so pressed if the ride was stolen then.
Some pretty impressive Guts! 16 mosfets for the power supply with dual transformers "They don't looked double dipped though" and 12 output mosfets! I like the traces, most of that copper would be missing on some boards and those jumpers well something polk wouldn't but should use! Somewhat similar to audiopipe boards, which as you proved can be impressive amps as well! Nice to see some bargain amps that are actually built better than the new Lanzars! Did you see that there will be some new amps built by original people from Orion? I can't wait to see them assembled on FB, they have the extrudes and boards! I bet you'll be dyno testing one before too long!
+Jon Doe Cheap circuitry with big toroids and strong 12volt rails, but I'm pretty sure either the mosfets or the rail capacitors will fail because i bet the heat tolerance is very low. Yeah it has impressive numbers for the price but i want to see how long it last in real time usage.
MazdaBass971 yea, i will wait and see how well they hold up first. The inside looks fairly well built, But there might be one cheap part that fails and nukes the amp.But for 200$ it's not that big of a hit.
That's an awesome amp, I love how it calls itself bargan but nearly makes its written power and in certain situations can far surpass its ratings... It's the oposite of dual XD
Its only a bargain until you have an issue with the amp. Mine blew at a 4ohm load and cab completely ignored all of my attempts to enforce the warranty. They don't answer the phone nor reply to emails.. Fuk cab
thank you for the test . this amp is going to hurt alot of feelings .. a similar sundown audio 1500 watts is around $450 and it also does roughly the same wattage at 1ohm certified.. im sure someone will say the sundown sounds better or that it will last 10 years or so..for double the price it better...lol i own a Rockford prime 500.1 that was only like $80 less than this amp but this cab 1600.1 has 10 times the power capabilities if you can give it enough juice.. I cant believe you and Steve tested it almost the same day ... I hear they might also be making some cab subs id like to see some of those as well when they come out..
I don't know if you heard or not but I've been seeing rumors of a 3200.1 from CAB next year. I just bought 2 1600.1's and they are on 2 sundown audio x-12 V2 D2's @1 ohm. They're not broke in yet but show a lot of promise.
Running a cab 1600.1 on a SD x-8 and its pushing good 1k watts never gets hot and has been running good for the time iv had it deff worth 199 and leaves plenty of room to upgrade woofers
I'm a bit surprised at how good some (not all) of these off brand "inexpensive" amps are getting these days... Does it sound good, dunno. Will it last, again I dunno. I just know it did respectable numbers that are pretty close to what it's rated it at.
+Reggie Reginato good point. The Amp Dyno cannot determine Sound Quality and even with my 12" SQ test sub, I could tell this amp did not provide the control as my Class A/B amps do. Yes, 4 ohms is a light load for this amp (and around 600W), but most who buy these amps are just looking for high SPL anyway....right?
Clean power = Clean power. Maybe damping factor, but if over 50 it's fine. Anyone ever take Richard Clark's amplifier challenge? I dunno how legit that was, didn't he just use headphones?
This video has me wanting 2 of these amps so freaking bad!! Could you do an amp dyno with this amp strapped together?? I bet the wattage would be through the dang roof!! Thanx for your videos man 👍👍
I've had mine for 2 years now pushing 4 12inch Alpine type r's at 0.5 ohm gains set by ear I originally bought 2 to push 6 12's but while waiting for my ho alternator I blew 2 of the 6 12's so I still got one brand new in the box good amp good price
+Steven Pate (The Outlaw) Thanks for watching this and for acknowledging I did this test for you guys. I'd much rather spend my time watching Rafa's mom sunbathe...
CAB makes decent amps for the price. I imagine mine would still be working if I wasn't a big dummy knew what I know now. For the price it's a decent stepping stone to the next level
apparently everyone that watched a video on this amp bought one, because they are sold out and wont be in stock until the end of june. I knew i should have bought one when i seen the first video on this amp.
The power output is impressive for such a cheap amp. Remember the harder you run this amp the shorter its lifespan, plus you have to provide it with enough reserve power.
+King ABS Thanks 5 minute ABS! I see you've moved on to Pilates....Taebo must have been too intense?? Don't mind me, it's Monday morning and I've had too much caffeine already
Yeah! Boy!!! Hell yeah big Dizzle I wattch you all the time and I'm glad you tested the cab you just help me decide on my next purchase so keep it bumbin and keep it ooold schooool!! And I'm out
If there is anyway you could get your hands on a 4k or 5k watt SSL amp that would be awesome! A lot of people out there say its not worth the money but I see them refurbed on Ebay for 150 or less and still getting around 2k rms...how can u beat that for the price...Thanks!
Big D me and a friend disagree on mono block amp. he has two dual voice coil subs and a 1900 watt mono block amp. he thinks both subs are getting 1900 watts each. I said your dual voice coil subs are getting 475 watts per coil or 950 watts per sub. would you cast your vote
Wow... Never heard of them but I believe we may see some these in a build soon. A BARGAIN indeed. I would have like to have seen a picture of the internals though for reference.
+Steven Pate (The Outlaw) Depends on what you expect out of them. My 1989 Alpine 3545 and PPI 2350DM's both sounded better powering my 4 ohm SQ test sub (more controlled, more dynamic), but that's expected. Most people who buy these amps are not the ones who listen to Jazz, Metal, Classical or Rock. I'd stick to Class A/B amps personally...
+Dereck BigDWiz, I'm normally a class D person myself. I own and have owned numerous Rockford Fosgate amps. My current favorite is my prime 750.1, and I'm soon to build a low power system around a pbr300.1.
Big D have you ever tested a Sundown Audio Salt-2000.6 amplifier before? If so, do you have a video on it? I bought this same amp about a month ago and still haven't installed it yet.
smd stopped doing budget amp test after finding out that 2 of them were doing more than rated power. these were all bought at a flea market he had 3 or 4 and only tested 2 but this is a prime example of true rms and some at a great price i get so tired of seeing every body using the same brand of car audio just different setup's now were is the fun in that.i love brands like these that get the job done and is easy on the wallet. now is this still considered a entry level amp
+masterblaster735 I don't think that's why SMD didn't test more of those amps....he doesn't get the views with Amp Tests as he does with his demo/build videos, so for the most part, he leaves the Dyno testing to other folks...and that's cool with me, lol
Dereck BigDWiz Thanks BigD. Its good you show us the current draw. Haven't things changed in 17 years? I saw a '99 JBL BP1200 on your channel do rated+ power at 65% efficiency! Efficiency is important, not all of us have a huge amp electrical..
hey big d me again. I have this amp on 2 15 in nvx dual 4's running at 1 ohms. Sounds good but i want more.Would i benefit if i get another cab and run the subs at 2 ohms on their own amp or is the dynamic numbers better at the 1 ohm load with one amp? right now i have a solid 13.5 volts with my current power setup with my batterys/double 0 g power wire. the rms is better with 2 amps but the dynamic isnt much different.just wondering if its worth buying another amp.or just buy more subs?
I have 4 orion xtr pro 12s dual 2 ohm what amp would be a the best choice this amp or the audiopipe apcl1800, currently i have a autotek m4000.1 but i doubt im getting 1000 watts, i have 0 gauge, h/o alt 190 amps & a spare optima battery also the big 3, but i get huge voltage drop maybe because i have it wired at 1/4 ohms lol but the amp is holding up so far
you dyno a mtx th1200.1D. i just want to know the one i bought clips alot on 500 watts rms subs not turn half way up and bass down turn gains down when a good bass note comes on it still clips
+DERRICK Gordon I've tested both Punch 75HD and Punch 150HD - 75HD - th-cam.com/video/z93o0MKMHNA/w-d-xo.html 150HD vs Orion 275sx - th-cam.com/video/ihY23cliBnw/w-d-xo.html
I got this amp but the speaker outputs are a bit confusing the way it has both negative on one side and both positive on the other then the line that ones from one side to the other. I’ve got dual 2 ohm subs wired to 1 ohm each how should I connect two subs ohmed at 1 ohm each to this amp ??
I was considering on getting one or two of these to run an everyday system on two 12s or 15s..on daily..not and competition..just everyday bumping..would they be legit for this set up..or only for number use..
+lmadden6236 didn't get hot at all. Heatsink has really cool red anodizing, there are also small black end caps that cover the connections. These are good and bad. Good to protect against shorts, bad in that people will probably lose them...
+Will Purchase UPS is notorious for damaging stuff. The assholes even leave expensive car audio on my porch without a signature so it can be stolen... Zero fucks.
I'm looking for a amp to replace the two Rockford fosgate prime r5001 , I'm into bass would this be a decent amp to go with , I'm running with 2 American bass xfl10s which are 1000rms each dual 4 ohm
+Ronnie Anderson Yeah, it does rated if you have the electrical. You might want to look into the FSD 2600 though since each of those subs are 1k and that would give you a little headroom to play with.
Yo Dereck I got two of these strapped at 1ohm nominal. Each amp at 0.5, they take it all day and put out a ton of power! All for $200 each. It will be very hard to beat this amp in dollar to watt ratio. I tell everyone I can about these budget amplifiers.
+James Mayberry many amps these days are just rebadged generic Chinese or Korean clones. This one didn't even have a serial number on the bottom panel or circuit board
+Dereck BigDWiz that is intresting, I never thought of that. all my other amps have serial numbers....I'd like to see what amp looks identical to this if it is a rebage.
Amplifiers have a gain to match output from the source unit. My head unit puts out 4 volts of ultra clean signal, so I set the gains on the amp to match this output. If you have a cheaper head unit with a 2 volt output, you will need to turn up the gain on the amp more. There are a ton of videos explaining amplifier gain and will explain it much better than I can in a comment. Check Sonic Electronix, I seem to recall they have a good video about gain.
So since CABCARAUDIO itself isn't going to have this amp on sale through them until about June 30/16 where did the amp get acquired that had already been in a competition & then sent to the Big D man for a confirmation dyno test??...somebody else has to be offering them already!
This is an early model, I believe they are currently making some changes to enhance reliability. I was sent the amp to test from a friend, not the mfg.
I have been debating buying this amp myself. For Father's Day my children bought me the cab 1000 RMS watt sub with 3 inch voice coil (not the ultra )do you know the difference and should I run two with this amp or just the one
BigDWiz by all means I'm going for the biggest bang LOL I super appreciate you responding to me and really appreciate all the work you do in your videos keep it up brother very much appreciated
Hey big d. What size fuse would you recommend for this amp.I have it and only hooked it up once just to see if it worked. Yea it does and popped my fuses in seconds (as expected) What did this amp draw at 1 ohm dynamic? i see it pulled 184 so would a 200 amp fuse be good? or do i need bigger. I will be giving it plenty o juice as far as wire and batt power. I will be running it at 1 ohm on 2 15's Im outta here!!!!
Dereck BigDWiz hey thanks. I found some 2awg 100% copper welding wire for a decent price. Is that wire good enough for a power wire? Or do i need bigger.
At that price point it is tempting! But moving up to that level, seeing the amperage it is drawing, I'd have to do a full big 3 upgrade. And I'd need more sub! So not in my current ride (no room for more sub), but I'm going to keep my eye on this amp/company and see how they hold up over time. If they remain solid, that's a game changer price point.
+Chris Meirose I personally own two of these and run them strapped at 1 ohm (each amp seeing a 0.5 ohm load) and they take it with no problems. been doing so for 2 months now. never get hot...always hang hard. they may be cheap Chinese amps, but these amps are the real deal, let me he the first to tell you. you won't be dissapointed, believe me!
+adalusjenkinz I'm running two and had a 300 amp breaker to them that kept poping after I turned it up more than half way. I'm now running a 500 amp anl fuse that has done me good. no issues so far.
can you test more of the amps certified on low ohm loads?..push them on a constant note and see if they can handle it?..I have a single dual 1ohm sub so it is running at 2 ohms right now but I would like to see which amps can handle half an ohm.and before guys start talking about box rise..it is a true 2 ohm load at 21 hertz
+Timothy Hinton Amp is rated to handle 1 ohm loads, so prior "inexpensive" amps I've tested at 0.5 certified have not fared well. I didn't want to damage the amp by testing it at a (certified) load less than 1 ohm
Know a guy about 1.5hr away from me that's been running one @ .7ohm on a 12" DC xlm2(D1.4) for at least 7 months now. He says the amp gets slightly warm after 1hr of solid beating on the sub. He has a 270A alt, and will have to upgrade to a 350A if he adds another amp(along with 2nd xlm2 12").
BigD, you realize that it is never even going to see 1 ohm or lower when it is hooked up. The impedance is constantly changing and always above the DC resistance you are testing it on.
Yikes! That is really built to a price. I'm quite shocked at how little filtering there is at the output. You could probably kill FM radio stations at 1000ft!
+bassmansoundking99 mechman makes a 370 amp alti I think that and maby 3 battery should be ok. I've ran a 2000 watt Rockford amp on my stock dodge neon with a big 3 and a power cap. it was running 13.5 volts at idle but of course with the system at full tilt it dropped to a 12.9 on the cap . my lights never dimmed. I had 4 Gage wire to the amp. so if I run a 0 from the alt to the battery then to the amps strapped they should be ok.
Def use 1/0 awg power and ground and more than one run will help with V droop as well on the amp side. As far as matching rms on subs and amp I dont worry too much. I can hear subs stressed and never blow for example a 600 watt sub on 2k amp when you keep an ear and eye on it.
+bassmansoundking99 all I had were 2 bazooka 12,s in a well sealed box I pushed the air out the box until the subs were super tight with the subs facing the trunk. it shook my car so hard you couldn't read what was on the deck and got 3 noise violation tickets. Lotta cab pressure from 2 twelve.
+bassmansoundking99 last reply. I had the pioneer deck that had a moving background with dolphins and indy cars racing. the subs sounded great only downside with the sealed box was it couldn't hit really low but for mid to high bass it was really good. the guys at world of sound in Stuart told me when they handed over the keys said you are gonna love how those 12,s sound. the install guy said he was impressed how well the cheap crap bazooka sounded. another drawback was if the trunk was opened they didn't sound that good at all but trunk closed was a different ball game. so I will never judge a amp or speakers by what forum and people say. in the end I feel like it's proper install acoustic of the box and vehicle and setup of equalizer and cross over.
First to da CAB
+91rickstar All your amplifiers are mine! Send them to the black hole of BigDWiz, never to be returned....lololololol
BigDWiz why wouldn't people just buy 3 or 4 or these and strap them for the price? That's what I am thinking
BigDWiz sweet vids im looking to order sound stream tarantula T6000.1 rated 3000 rms at .5!!!!! also the lights are sexy!!!
+I am Coast2coastLoud I strapped two of them on five dual 4 ohm subs to a final load of 1.6 ohms total so .8 per amp and its absolutely the cheapest way to get really loud very cost effectively.
did you test what the current draw was at 1ohm dynamic?
just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to make these videos. It really helps us consumers know what's bullshit out there and what's worth our hard earned money! Keep up the good work!

I'm pretty sure this amp is sufficient enough for a budget build. Longevity is questionable, time will tell.

+716illtra1200 Exactly my thoughts no way a China made $200 amp can do those numbers for very long.
thanks for testing this amp Big D! I've been looking at it for a couple of months but then I seen the guy on Facebook that said he was only getting 900 watts rms from it. I think I'm going to purchase it now.
+dre day better safe than sorry fam
dre day kuddos for the words
bad box rise?
+Ryan Williams possibly. plus you never know what the electrical is like in the vehicle
Right. It could be a mixture of things. Electrical, box rise, improper tuning, and ect.
I'm still going strong 2 years later at .5 ohm I love this amp.
Great feedback 👌
Still going? Lol I would also like to run one .5 good electrical
How about now? :-)

For giggles you should do a Dual amplifier.
Kayhub uhh yea i womder wht those fuckers really do there subs are not bad for entry level y ok u just have to watch the rms cuz most rated 800 but only 125rms lol crazy but i wanna see it amp test
They've actually tested out pretty decently. Lol
I dont not know if you are aware but he has and the Korean built Dual amps do well

+MacNifty Almost as impressive as Rafa's mom...Right +Doug Bernards ??
Wow! Color me impressed. I actually really like the look of that amp as well. I've never even heard of the brand before...
+hifivega It's a bargain! :-)

Yeah i agree it does have a nice look. lol
thank you so much bigdwiz!!! spied this, and can't wait to pick a pair up. you the man. been looking for a good test bench of this.
Oh yeah I'm definitely going to buy this amp.
That's an awesome amp, I love how it calls itself bargan but nearly makes its written power and in certain situations can far surpass its ratings... It's the oposite of dual XD

But reliability? I’ve heard mixed results, not always best to look for price vs performance

This video has me wanting 2 of these amps so freaking bad!! Could you do an amp dyno with this amp strapped together?? I bet the wattage would be through the dang roof!! Thanx for your videos man 👍👍
They just announced CAB 2000.1, but rumors of an Orion true 2kW made in Korea is more interesting IMO
I've had mine for 2 years now pushing 4 12inch Alpine type r's at 0.5 ohm gains set by ear I originally bought 2 to push 6 12's but while waiting for my ho alternator I blew 2 of the 6 12's so I still got one brand new in the box good amp good price
thanks for doing this test Big D.
I knew i should have bought one when i seen the first video on this amp.
ikr.......{o¿O}
@Mark Seven me 2
@Mark Seven somewhere around that.Few months after the video
@Mark Seven I have a video on it. Big wire, extra battery and stock alt.
The power output is impressive for such a cheap amp. Remember the harder you run this amp the shorter its lifespan, plus you have to provide it with enough reserve power.
wow excellent! thanks for this nice amp dyno test . thumbs up
+King ABS Thanks 5 minute ABS! I see you've moved on to Pilates....Taebo must have been too intense?? Don't mind me, it's Monday morning and I've had too much caffeine already
+Dereck BigDWiz hhhh lol
Yeah!
It's not it's straight ttrraasshh
Yeah he tested one lol it was
What's the name of the beat playing in the background? Not the one you made to do the dyno.
+jolmeaki it's called "Right to Be" and one of the free tracks TH-cam offers to creators
Exactly 950-per-sub
Wow... Never heard of them but I believe we may see some these in a build soon. A BARGAIN indeed. I would have like to have seen a picture of the internals though for reference.
+John “TMONEY” Furious You didn't watch long enough, lol 7:30
what was the current draw for that last few runs?
That's amazing numbers. I've been considering buying one, but was unsure about them.
My current favorite is my prime 750.1, and I'm soon to build a low power system around a pbr300.1.
thanks man... your camera is kickass!!!!
+MrCpsloco Thx bro, just good lighting and my iPhone 6s Plus :-)
For the mere $200 it's well worth it!
can you do a bench test to a massive audio p1500.1, and a audiobahn a1500hct
Audiobahn lol. Performance it's trash, looks is the best thing going for it. The massive audio amp is a keeper tho
Love the testing could you addcost per watt on your final results, thanks
would love to see a soundstream t1.6000dl
Big D have you ever tested a Sundown Audio Salt-2000.6 amplifier before? If so, do you have a video on it? I bought this same amp about a month ago and still haven't installed it yet.
No sir and I don’t plan on testing it. Check with Sundown Unofficial
@@wal yeah, I just wondered if you did Big Dee. Thanks Big Bro.
does it make a difference what positive and negative you use (inside or outside) noticed you used outside, Steve Meade used inside
+Justin Ruhoff no difference. Banks are equal, for less than 8 ohms, banks are paralleled anyway
BigDWiz thank you so much
smd stopped doing budget amp test after finding out that 2 of them were doing more than rated power. these were all bought at a flea market he had 3 or 4 and only tested 2 but this is a prime example of true rms and some at a great price i get so tired of seeing every body using the same brand of car audio just different setup's now were is the fun in that.i love brands like these that get the job done and is easy on the wallet. now is this still considered a entry level amp
+masterblaster735 I don't think that's why SMD didn't test more of those amps....he doesn't get the views with Amp Tests as he does with his demo/build videos, so for the most part, he leaves the Dyno testing to other folks...and that's cool with me, lol
Is this a modded class AB amp? 57% efficiency at 1 ohm certified..
+Mr. Krios nope, Class D
Damnfor $200 bucks!!!!! I need 2 of these. Man what a deal. You can’t beat that with a stick!!!!!!
Lotsa peeps like these
Would you try the lanzar optidrive 900x2 or 700x2 one is my next choice.
+Abel Diaz check your music in audacity. a lot of remix/boosted music has built in clipping
I usually don't like cheap no name amps but that is impressive for 200.00 bargain amp. Might purchase one and put it in my son's car.
+Dj Kamikaze yeah, this seems like a good idea. Not a huge loss if someone breaks in the car. LMK how it works out
Where can you even get a 1600.1 from cab I can’t find one for anything...
I would like to see you do a test on the old school punch series amps! the punch 30,45,75,and the 150!
You can’t. Your options are 2 ohms (series/parallel) or 0.5 ohm (parallel/parallel)
I was considering on getting one or two of these to run an everyday system on two 12s or 15s..on daily..not and competition..just everyday bumping..would they be legit for this set up..or only for number use..
Pretty impressive... Looks nice inside and out but the name is a little goofy. Did it get hot?
+lmadden6236 didn't get hot at all. Heatsink has really cool red anodizing, there are also small black end caps that cover the connections. These are good and bad. Good to protect against shorts, bad in that people will probably lose them...
Doesn't protect from the assholes at usps dropping them either I got one with 2 bent mounting brackets.
+Will Purchase UPS is notorious for damaging stuff. The assholes even leave expensive car audio on my porch without a signature so it can be stolen... Zero fucks.
Love the videos but most of the amps that you test that's not mainstream I can't find on the internet.
Amps like this are discontinued
What amp draw was it pulling 1/2 ohm dynamic big d wizz?
James Mayberry long shot if you are still around how did your two CAB 1600s strapped hold up over time?
When testing amplifiers amplifier on the dyno, do u have the gain at max, half, or min? Thanks big d!
Amp gains are set to match my Alpine head unit. In most cases the gains are around 1/2 or a little less
BigDWiz what do you mean matched to your head unit? Like how do you do that and why does that matter?
Amplifiers have a gain to match output from the source unit. My head unit puts out 4 volts of ultra clean signal, so I set the gains on the amp to match this output. If you have a cheaper head unit with a 2 volt output, you will need to turn up the gain on the amp more. There are a ton of videos explaining amplifier gain and will explain it much better than I can in a comment. Check Sonic Electronix, I seem to recall they have a good video about gain.
BigDWiz So what if you were to turn the gain up past the 4 volt matched output?or even turn the gain all the way up for that matter?
SMD made me buy one. it's on it's way.
big dwiz what do you personally think is better bd1500 or this?
+chevy rider BD1500, built much better, will last longer
do you hav a charger on the batteries when doing this amp test
I just saw Steve Meade do the same test on same equipment and the numbers don't mesh on the certified runs. his were higher. what u think?
+Scott Miller Difference in voltage. SMD has a stronger electrical for his test bench and kept high 14's for his test, mine were low 14's
Thanks,
What is the sound quality and reliability like in these?
+Donvey Broussard probably 2 unless you just don't need the extra bass. You could always start with one and add another if needed
250A should suffice
Dereck BigDWiz
hey thanks. I found some 2awg 100% copper welding wire for a decent price. Is that wire good enough for a power wire? Or do i need bigger.
I'm running mine at .5 ohm on 200a fusing and I haven't had an issue.
Steven Watson
nice. What size power wire are u using?
0/1 welding cable
What web suite, can i find this amp?ebay, amazon dont have them?
What current did it pull at 1 ohm? If you don't mind I didn't see in the video
Don’t believe I measured it. I’ll check the Dyno sheet
you have any videos of amps blowing up on the dyno
+valdarmort yes! - th-cam.com/video/865jrg8hMUo/w-d-xo.html
Greetings! BigDWiz how much rms wattage would you recommend for a subwoofer to match this amp?
You need to match the rms wattage at the given ohms of the voicecoil of the speaker(or speakers)
So would that cab 1600.1 be good on my 2 sundown x12 at .5ohm load or would I need bigger
I would not run this amp at .5 ohm, too many failing that low, it's not rated or recommended at that load, though many do run it.
Get you a Skar SKV2 4500.1 on each. They're monsters.
Have you ever done a DD m3b/c?
Big D how about strapping two Cab1600.1's @ 1 ohm .5 each i would like to see that done, any ideas
Just need the $400 to buy 2 amps 😂
I have one i would loan and send in to test if another member will loan one?
I've heard nothing but good things about those amps ..... I'd love to see some A/B class also
Straight up - that's crazy. Wow. Any idea on how they stand up over time?
+Chris Meirose I can't say for sure, just tested it on a sub for 30 minutes, then did the Amp Dyno test. It's going back to it's owner tomorrow
+James Mayberry what fuse rating you recommend on this amp?
Nice one how about the cab 2000.1d
Waiting for it to arrive...
Ok I'll wait on the video because i love to get one and thanks for these videos it helps out allot
So would the 1600 rating be the RMS and not max, don't some amps advertise the RMS
What's the numbers when strapped with other CAB 1600.1 ???
double, I would assume....
does these amps come full range not really getting any feedback on it tanks
+Marlon Husain I believe they only make monoblock bass amps currently
quick question, what's the Idle Current draw on this amp?
+Jah Son approx. 2.5A
Thanks so much 👌👍 I over your videos, keep up the good work!
Thats a hell of a deal if they are reliable
Know a guy about 1.5hr away from me that's been running one @ .7ohm on a 12" DC xlm2(D1.4) for at least 7 months now. He says the amp gets slightly warm after 1hr of solid beating on the sub. He has a 270A alt, and will have to upgrade to a 350A if he adds another amp(along with 2nd xlm2 12").
I think a 270A is enough for 2 as long as a few runs 1/0 and batteries
i have been running one on 2 15's (1 ohm) for about 6 months with no problems at all.
If you run the amp below 1ohm, it will pull some amps.
184 amps at 1 ohm is not to bad at all! the prices on these things isent bad either
BigD, you realize that it is never even going to see 1 ohm or lower when it is hooked up. The impedance is constantly changing and always above the DC resistance you are testing it on.
Yes, I realize this 😬
where I can buy that amp???
What was the amp draw @1ohm
Geezus Krists. If only they made a Car Audio Bargain 3200 for $400
+Trapperjohn1000 they do! It's called (2) 1600's strapped
Very impressive!👍👍👏
Are you testing a single channel, bridged ect?
+MrJarednator monoblock amp. It only has one channel. 2 terminals are only to assist when connecting 2 subs 🔊🔊
one question
is it really bargain?
Not bad - Not bad at all!
What's the difference in certified and uncertified?
Certified stops test at 1% THD, uncertified stops test at amplifier clipping. Both RMS power measured (not peak)
BigDWiz ok, cool👍🏾
Yikes! That is really built to a price. I'm quite shocked at how little filtering there is at the output. You could probably kill FM radio stations at 1000ft!
+Aaron Hammett There you go...serves double duty!
I noticed "yo momma" wasn't in the ending credits this time lol. Great video though as usual!
+FLINTmitten810 she stopped supporting, so I removed her :-P
so would you say with 2 of these amps on 2 2,000 watt subs would be okay with no issues?
Depends on the beefiness of your electrical? 2 of these will be pulling 400+ amps if pushed depending on the Voltage in your car.
