Cognizant there are many versions of this old tyme favorite. Those Teacakes looked like something from hell. A horrible recipe and process. Thus far...all the teacake on this site are wannabeees. Someone told her...and others that this is a Teacake recipe. Those are more like hoecakes, not Teacakes.

I didn't realize that the Crisco sticks are larger(8 ounces) than sticks of butter. The measurement I quoted to you is for a stick of butter which is 4 oz or 1/2 cup. So sorry and sorry if I confused anybody.
