    Love this!! My youngest has also sat through his older sibling’s lessons. I also love the Classical/Charlotte Mason inspired style. 💗💗 I haven’t used the notebook organization method yet, but I plan to this year! Thanks for sharing!

    Listening to you say "Clean out your house before you start homeschooling" made me chuckle because I'm literally cleaning out my house to get ready as I watch this. 😂 Had my mother take the kids for the day and everything.

    Oh, also you can get a new Usborne book at half price if you have a damaged one, even if it's damaged due to use. I would check with a rep for details.

    The Usborne Farmyard Tales are co-readers too and they have a CD included. My toddler isn't there yet but when he's older I'll have him read while listening to the CD.

    Also what would you say to do if my girl is having trouble blending any letter sounds.. she can memorize the sounds but as soon as I try to get her to blend then she can’t figure them out fast enough.. just keep practicing individually??

    • @functioningmommy
      @functioningmommy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Life in Yellowknife My daughter was the same. We used Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons and it really helped for her to visually see the sounds getting put together with the arrows/dots system that the book uses. I also played around with times of day to practice her reading skills and found that she really only would read with me at bedtime instead of during typical school hours.

    • @BurtonFamily
      @BurtonFamily  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Time. All kids are different. I will often times cover up part of a word to kinda highlight the blend if they aren’t noticing it.

      Yes 💯agree with Our Burt Nest. BOTH my children we stepped away from practicing reading for like a month or so and one day each of them were ready and/or wanted to read for fun on their own. That’s when we jumped into the 100 Easy Lessons - she was just ready.
