I have to assume many of these replies are from kiwi's so I don't want to condescending but their "stiffness" is deliberate and played up for comedy, Jeremy Wells in particular is known for the straight man/smart arse humour. This is very australasian/anzac sort of awkward comedy.

Man, if the New Zealand version of communist is Jacinda, once more, it seems like heaven to me.
Jacinda is probably the only leader in the world who hasn’t gotten into some huge stupid scandal. I do my research on international leaders. Justin Trudeau, who is supposed to be the Mr. All Nice and Smiles of Canada, secretly funded a Quebec construction company who previously had deals with Gaddafi, Donald Trump of America is not the brightest bulb in the world, and Russia and a China have gotten into so many controversies I can no longer count them. So... From what i am getting from your comment is that Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of New fucking Zealand, is trying to seize the means of production and orchestrate a communist takeover through the UN?
The Prime Minister of New Zealand is taking over the world through communism!? Oh my god!!! Where have I heard this before? Oh right. Liberals. Yup.
Hey everyone! We better watch out! All the liberals of the world are plotting to take over earth!! Their leader is the Prime Minister of New Fucking Zealand!!!!!
Do you not see how stupid you sound? The PM of the Hobbits is taking over earth? With the puniest army ever? My ass.
She will either win or lose this election, then thats it. She may try to run again, win or lose. She isnt taking over the world. If she was, Fox News wouldve complained about it already.

What you say is a problem there, once more to me, a canadian, doesnt seem that bad if i look past this globalist nonsense. Canada is a literal shithole compared to New Zealand. It has been, and will be. Nobody wants to fix the many problems we have. Not the government, not the people. There is acts of racism, religious phobias, starving natives, gun violence, drugs, flat earthers, tin foil hat conspiracy theorists, people who think Trudeau is going to take over the world, climate deniers, nonsense provincial rivalries, unrepresentive voting, our political parties have gotten out of touch with the normal people and are feeding the far left and right, covid19 deniers, poverty, police brutality, huge hospital line ups and depending where you live your doctors just dont care, and the list goes on.
I dont even care about Jacinda. She has nothing on Canada and Trudeau. New Zealand would be an escape from the nonsense in North America.
She is normal, compared to the rest of the liberal leaders in the world. Hillary Clintons entire campaign was based on the fact she was a woman, Trudeau has worn blackface and secretly funded government money SNC-Lavalin, Jeremy Corbyn has a scandal about anti-semetic statements, Joe Biden has a sexual assault accusation, etc.
Then what has Jacinda done compared to them? Nothing. She is normal. New Zealand politics is normal, how things are supposed to be. They dont have some massive conservative-liberal war going on.
I hear your exact same argument for every liberal leader. Talking about socialist and globalist nonsense. Socialism isnt social healthcare.
Also, just to throw this out there, isnt globalisms definition *the idea of giving equal rights and freedoms to everyone around the world regardless of borders?*
I certainly believe everyone should have equal rights and freedoms.
Not only that, didnt you form a part of an argument based on Jacinda saying comrade?
New Zealand seems like heaven compared to canada. But I can always be proved wrong.

As you can see from the experienced people using sign language (the random woman and the interpreter) they also use their mouths to show which word they are saying. So if you practice sign language you can silently move your mouth to the words you sign to make it a bit better. Some words have the same hand signs so you the mouth helps.

As a Brit on the other side of the world this strikes me as typical NZ - utterly brilliant !!! Your leader seems to have her head and heart in the right place and clearly adores her country and its people. I hope NZ appreciates and supports her , many countries around the world would love a leader like that.

@Kapt'n Pee Well her leadership has allowed New Zealand to beat covids ass while the US and the UK don't even know where their ass is while also being buttfucked by covid, so... Yea she's doing a lot better then most other country leaders. But you already knew that didn't you? Just looking for an excuse to be an ass again i see.

The reason a lot of people like Jacinda is not because of ideology. Many people probably think Labour is conservative for all we know. I swore Jacinda was a conservative at first.
The true reason a lot of people like her is because she has never gotten into a stupid controversy. Look at the other world leaders.
Trudeau of Canada, Mr All Nice n Smiles secretly funded a Quebec construction company who had made deals with Gaddafi, Trump isn’t the brightest bulb, Putin and Xi Jinping have both gotten into so many controversies at home and abroad I can no longer count. Then look at Jacinda. What the fuck has Jacinda done? Ban guns? I mean, it sucks right? But having a gun ban is much better than being slaughtered and subdued by the Chinese military.

The person doing voice over is interpreting the lady from the deaf community so it is a wee bit slower, given she is comprehending the signs and verbalising them.

You'd think clarity of speech is something they'd look for in a news announcer.

wait, let me get this straight: so people's names in sign language are a reference to an aspect of them? But doesn't the subjectivity of that create problems? The first that comes to my mind is that every interpreter after the very first one would have to know what "name" the person has first been assigned. Otherwise, she'd have multiple sign names.

    • @sito3446
      @sito3446 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It's more like a nickname for that specific group of people. When you are accepted into a signing / deaf community, they assign you a name sign so that they do not have to repeatedly fingerspell your name. You would normally introduce yourself with both your name and name sign and its up to the community to adopt the name sign (they most often do), but theoretically you could have different name signs for different communities.
