Mage was my first ever run and I won. Following run I got a card that said "pyroblast randomly until a hero dies" and I was like "FUCK YAH THAT'S GONNA BE FUCKING COOL" literally cast 2 pyros in my face in a row with 10 minions on board and I lost.
I finally beat Mage when I got double Spell Damage passives with an Embers of Ragnaros and 2 Rhonins, with enough board clears to make sure every missile hit face. No boss can survive 96 damage to face.
Only clear I've gotten so far (I don't play too often) was with an Ele-mage since I was offered Frost Lich in a hero power bucket which allowed me to easily make use of the stealth passive and the wax rager (which is one of the best treasures anyway)
Overload minions are extremely good in dungeon runs, especially 4 mana 7/7. Won the dungeon run with 1 hp left, holy crap blizz did well with the dungeons for singlepalyer experience
Strangely enough, I went all in on hero powers and completely crushed every single boss. I had 3 Coldara Drakes and 2 Fallen Hero. My first pick was obviously Justicar's ring. Dealing 20-40 damage per turn with your hero power is pretty good.
Hey Krio, love your videos. so one thing that frustrates me is I completed the dungeon run the other day, which I admit was somewhat satisfying, but the disappointment of the card back which honestly was so plain I overlooked it looking through my card pages until I realize that was my reward card back. there's got to be a simple system they could put in were you at least get some kind of reward when you beat the dungeon with all nine classes like maybe once a month you can beat it with all classes and earn five packs of cards or something. it seems a little ridiculous for the amount of effort and time I put into these dungeon runs for what the reward was considering you can pretty much get a better free card back from doing random silly stuff. My concern is I really enjoyed the solo dungeon system but now I feel zero incentive to play them any longer after beating it with the nine classes. They are fun to play, but it's not as fun with no goal left to achieve, which is disappointing.
The whole point of them is to play them because you like playing them, that's why the reward is almost nothing. They didn't want people to play just for a carrot on a stick.
I would normally agree but considering that their main game mode of constructed is using the carrot on a stick model it seems a little odd. I think a good way that they could implement rewards into the dungeon run is by providing unique options for people who have completed certain achievements or milestones in the game mode. This is commonly used in rogue-like games to give the player a sense of progression and make the game interesting for longer. I think that blizzard wanted to see if this was something that interested the player base before putting the effort into fleshing out the game mode more than it is (which it is good right now don't get me wrong).
I would want the reward to be something like every time you clear a dungeon run get 15 gold with a cap of 5 a day or something it's pretty small but at least it's something would make it feel much more rewarding playing the dungeon run and it's not that big to where you need a pay wall behind just reward for playing the game like you get for winning 3 games
so far my favorite run was my spellpower warlock with captured flag. using an impolsion to deal 7 damage and fill your board with 2/2's is a pretty great feeling (which is something that happened more than once in that run.).
I had a Coldara Drake mage deck w/ Justicar's ring and lots of inspire minions and stealth!, there were a couple games where it worked beautifully almost like a DK Raza deck, turn 6 drop Colderra Drake, turn 7 ping for 14 to whatever I want, turn 8 ping for 16, etc... then boss 7 was that guy who gives his minions charge and he just overran me so quickly before anything developed. Next Mage run, had 4 Molten Giants, 3 Arcane Giants, double HP and minions that cost more than 5 cost 5, and that was GG vs everyone.
my mage tips: Inspire minions with permanent stealth ( heroic power loot and cloak of invisibility treasure) is really good, especially if you have a kval'dir raider and a lot of Mukla's champions. You can take Khadgar's scrying orb to make your spells cost 1 less, and that works with Nexus Champion Saraad as well. Other good cards are: fallen hero, coldara drake and frost lich Jaina. I beat darkness by trying to kill all his minions, and when my health value was going down, I played frost lich Jaina, and from that point on, I built an army of water elementals. The Darkness already entered fatigue, and he had already used his twisting nethers, and, as my minions were stealthed, he couldn't entomb or mind control. The only thing he could do is spawn darkspawns, but I kept healing with my water elementals, constantly hitting face. And that's how you win with mage.
Chaos Mage did the trick for me on the first run. Crushed Azari with lots of spells, the +1 Mana Crystal and the -1 Mana Cost for spells along with double Wish.
I havent played Hearthstone for 6 months and dungeon run has made me come back. I figured it was pretty hard to beat since everyone keeps making tutorial videos, but ive pretty much won every attempt for every class on the first try just yoloing it.
I just logged into the expansion for the first time and mage was my first dungeon run. I killed all bosses with the battlecry passive, which was almost useless. Just went for a bunch of control cards and boardclears and won against the darkness with fatigue :D
At first I was trying to beat mage in the same way I beat Priest: By trying to get a constructed-level Reno Mage. But that just requires way too much luck. The way I actually beat was with a mage deck with a lot of burn spells and cloak of the magi (the one passive that gives your spells +3 spell damage) and a few random minions including a few inspire related ones with the passive +1/+1 buff (I also had Wax Rager). I honestly thought it was a pretty mediocre deck and that I wasn't gonna complete the run, but it turns out that when both your spells and your minions do way much more for their mana cost, you can just out-tempo even the final bosses fairly easily. Even if the AI managed to get board control, I just used a cheap clear (typically Volcanic Potion) to clear his entire board and then play more of my over-statted minions in the same turn. It's a viable strategy that doesn't require you to get anything really specific apart from the two aforementioned buffs.
Here’s a crazy dungeon fact. If both players die you don’t lose the dungeon run, but you don’t get to pick a treasure! Has this happened to anyone else? Just played the trap room and hit it with scaled nightmare and it had eye for an eye. Crazy!
Kripp, you forgot to add the "Chaos + Spell Discount x2" Mage deck. I completely obliterated every single boss, by having infinite amounts of card generation & spells (which all costed 2 less).
2x Khadgar's scrying orb and Portable forge! Get Aluneth and cycle through your deck to find 3 card and one turn exodia combo (Antonidas, Apprentice, Molten reflection)
I beat dungeon run with hero power mage. 2 Coldarras, 5 fallen heroes, Kvaldir raider, Auctionmaster Beardo, Justicar's ring, and a bag of coins made it so I could just machine gun down everything.
AF Kay is easy, all you gotta do is rush the bitch and if she is still alive turn 6 and you have the 3 Mana Frost Board, you can use your doomsayer and clear her board.
its getting to the point where the list of classes that should not pick stealth minions is shorter than the list that should... i wonder if warlock is good with stealth on the lifesteal packages he gets
I managed to win with mage by getting two potion of vitalities, wish, reno in a unique deck with echo of medivh and against togglewaggle i healed for 600 to fatigue him to death
I beat Xol with quest/chaos mage on my first mage run. I had to go full chaos though, and I almost lost to lots of bosses along the way. Still, tt was one of the most fun decks to play.
Mage was my second last class. Definitely tricky, but I pulled through with an overload of flamewakers in the end. Still haven't done warrior. I must have done a dozen or so tries, and I'm starting to hate life for it...
Tleilaxu0 I must have gotten super lucky, but I've been rather successful with it. I suggest going for a heavy warrior. Go for scepter and draft big minions.
i only had terrible end boss encounters with mage so far. like five I got to end quite easily. And then lost to RNG at the end boss. two times I was near 10 health of the boss and saw my 30-40 health dissappear. Unlucky.
You should try a quest mage which you get from the chaos package I had it on my first mage run and cleared all 8 bosses relatively easily and I even had the full exodia combo with antonidas and 4 sorcerers
I have somewhere in the realm of 90 victories with mage in the dungeon, I've gotten to the final boss all but one time and I've never beaten it. I had a Giants Mage with 4 moltens, 2 dupes, 2 ice blocks archmage staff and just a ton of great cards plus I'd gotten nearly ideal perks for the build with vitality pot, robes, and warding but then I got the dragon hoard final boss, drew none of my win conditions within the top 22 cards of my deck and lost. Had one with the darkness as well where I had Aluneth on a robes, scrying, warding burn mage but I died when he had 2 hp to exactly lethal via fatigue.
Warding is one of the weakest upgrades. HP potion is only good if your deck is ultra heavy & high value. Robe of +3 spelldamage or -1 spell costs are the best mage upgrades. Also card generation & archmage staff is insane.
I had a full giants package before I took vital potion and did so explicitly because 0 mana giants when it is nearly impossible to die on board are insane. Warding was the best choice for my first pick. My choices were the 3 weakest. Warding is okay when you have a really control heavy deck.
btw 4 times i was able to get a candle rager with doubled deathrattles: IT IS AMAZING. it is almost unbeatable board which is countered only by "silence and destroy all enemy minions" card
Mage was by far the easiest. Won on my first try with him lol. Now I'm noticing that the game WILL cripple your deck if its too one sided so Mage was very easy to spread out the synergy. *NOTE TO EVERYONE DO NOT CHOOSE STEALTH AS A PASSIVE* If you don't have a lot of removal you will die to Ix and her hero one shot killers
You need to get the blade + the hilt and be extremely lucky for it. It would be 6/6 weapon for one mana + 6 damage to all enemies. I've read somewhere that some streamer had done it but I don't remember who.
I think I've done like 400 something runs on mage, and I have won twice lol. It's sad seeing somebody say a game of random chance is based on skill and choices. But at the end of the day, you can choose the best cards and simply never draw them.
I beat my mage run with stealth inspire deck with justicar's ring 5 coldara Drake's, 3 muklas champions, 2 kodo riders and like 4 of the +1 damage to ping dudes. Deck was disgusting.
Edit: I hadn't gotten to the part where he said aluneth was suicide...yeah it is...had it in this>Best experience I had: quest mage with double spell cost reduction. Got fucked by the "remove top two cards of opponents deck" guy at the end. Just didn't get enough burn...still super fun
mage took me 114 ''bosses beaten'' compared to all the other classes which besides warlock and priest i cleared in the first 2 runs... had some pretty crazy rng bullshit happen to the strong mage decks and got shafted on most drafts due to the very random choices you get (5 mana without giants, spelldamage without spells, etc). also a big problem is that battlecry and deathrattle are basicially the worst in mage out of all the classes, so you got really dead options.
Mage was my first ever run and I won. Following run I got a card that said "pyroblast randomly until a hero dies" and I was like "FUCK YAH THAT'S GONNA BE FUCKING COOL" literally cast 2 pyros in my face in a row with 10 minions on board and I lost.
and now we know, in a fist fight Millhouse Manastorm would win against a yeti. 13:35
He didn't even mention Justicar's Ring + deck full of Coldarra Drakes. EZ game!
i lost on the final stage with that, but the deck was good
That magma chamber game, quality Hearthstone gameplay right there
I finally beat Mage when I got double Spell Damage passives with an Embers of Ragnaros and 2 Rhonins, with enough board clears to make sure every missile hit face.
No boss can survive 96 damage to face.
I took the "inspire" package and it worked super well actually
Only clear I've gotten so far (I don't play too often) was with an Ele-mage since I was offered Frost Lich in a hero power bucket which allowed me to easily make use of the stealth passive and the wax rager (which is one of the best treasures anyway)
Overload minions are extremely good in dungeon runs, especially 4 mana 7/7. Won the dungeon run with 1 hp left, holy crap blizz did well with the dungeons for singlepalyer experience
Assemble the Sword of Quel'delar!
Stealth passive and animated armor. Last two bosses you can just sit there and run your deck out for kicks if you want.
Strangely enough, I went all in on hero powers and completely crushed every single boss. I had 3 Coldara Drakes and 2 Fallen Hero. My first pick was obviously Justicar's ring. Dealing 20-40 damage per turn with your hero power is pretty good.
ScarFearz who would have thought :)
5:13
He's back
It's alive !
The hero we don’t deserve
Where have you been tf
HAHAHA he's back everyone
Sorry for grammar on phone, Krip***
TheApeinaSuite I always thought it would be pay to enter at first but it turned out free. Making it pay to enter now would be terrible
The whole point of them is to play them because you like playing them, that's why the reward is almost nothing. They didn't want people to play just for a carrot on a stick.

Hey kripp! Do a review of all the treasures and what they do!
I havent played Hearthstone for 6 months and dungeon run has made me come back. I figured it was pretty hard to beat since everyone keeps making tutorial videos, but ive pretty much won every attempt for every class on the first try just yoloing it.

Thanks Kripp, this was really helpful.
I beat the mage dungeon run night 1 of the expansion because I had Wand, Justicar's Ring, and 5 Rags in my deck. Went pretty smoothly.
I did mage, got the "cast pyroblasts until a player dies" and I beat all 8. After I got the card, every kill was a pyroblast.
Too bad you didn't record it.
ass ?
Hm? No, I was interested in actually seeing a run where someone used Pyroblast Wand and didn't get destroyed every game.
I beat the last boss on priest with that lul
I won my mage run by being at 8 hp and rod of roasting hitting the darkness 7 times in a row
I guess that's because of the class bonus😂
I lost to the lazier monster because I didn’t use rod of roaring
Assume u get more lucky the lower u are
Yeah hearthstone is a fair game without RNG
JarJar McJar absolutely no RNG at all it’s all skill no topdecks
I really had it hard with mage, almost as hard as with priest.
Most other classes were pretty easy in comparison.
Spell damage with mage is op. That buff varies me against xol, arcane 1 damage card worked like a flamestrike.
At first I was trying to beat mage in the same way I beat Priest: By trying to get a constructed-level Reno Mage. But that just requires way too much luck.

I've got an almost perfect big spell mage with spell power and alanna and it was the most fun i've had in a long time :p
I was INSPIRED to pick Coldara Drake...
I'll see myself out
beat it with stealth and the armor that reduces face damage you take to 1. Pretty cheese, even against candlebeard
Here we go
Kripp, you forgot to add the "Chaos + Spell Discount x2" Mage deck.
The "giants" bucket is one of the best regardless of your passive treasure.
lol mage was so funny, i ran 3 ice blocks and alexstraza, and i just had to draw my fireballs.
I beat dungeon run with hero power mage.
2 Coldarras, 5 fallen heroes, Kvaldir raider, Auctionmaster Beardo, Justicar's ring, and a bag of coins made it so I could just machine gun down everything.
Hi Kripp! Thank you for another awesome guide! :)
Crane here
Or like any class where you goal is to get 'Tad's Pole'
I think the lava-filled chamber might be broken.
If I walked into a lava filled chamber I’d just turn around
He picked the Secrets treasure so the AI didn't want to develop anything at all. Like, absolutely nothing
You did these class guides in the reverse order of how I finished my dungeon runs. Guess that makes sense though
Why did the chamber play nothing?
He had no minions in his hand. This dude got !#%!#% lucky with the whole run.. Getting perfect RND spells and freakin awesome ez build..
Wow throwback Thursday with that meme "All your darkness are belong to me"
Love you krip with your guides isi pizi
"All your're darkness are belong to me." xD
..base
I ended up with two +3 spell damage robes on my Mage run and completely facerolled the whole dungeon.
AF Kay recks me every time I get play mage.
she's easy if you keep doomsayer and an aoe freeze in your hand for turn 6
I just spam spells and pray for mana wyrm in opening hand
AF Kay is easy, all you gotta do is rush the bitch and if she is still alive turn 6 and you have the 3 Mana Frost Board, you can use your doomsayer and clear her board.
Get Animated Armor, get Perma Invis talent. You can never take more than 1 damage for the rest of the game.
I won mage with enhanced hero power and coldara drake, it was neat.
its getting to the point where the list of classes that should not pick stealth minions is shorter than the list that should...
i wonder if warlock is good with stealth on the lifesteal packages he gets
MrAlienform13 malganis stealth, gg
I managed to win with mage by getting two potion of vitalities, wish, reno in a unique deck with echo of medivh and against togglewaggle i healed for 600 to fatigue him to death
I beat my first mage run with 3 frost lich jainas, justicars ring, and a bunch of hero power synergy.
I beat Xol with quest/chaos mage on my first mage run. I had to go full chaos though, and I almost lost to lots of bosses along the way. Still, tt was one of the most fun decks to play.
Picked Mage for my first dungeon run. Made aggro deck and won making bad deck choices, last boss was Darkness.
You made this seem so easy. In reality I think mage might be the hardest one. Well played - but you surely had good luck as well!
First of all,I'm retarded. Now,back to my comment Is getting Gutmook on Boss 4 with robe and like only 3 minions considered lucky?
hey guys how’s it goin crane here
I've had stealth as mage with animated armor (can only take 1 damage)
Before you do the guide for paladin: Justicar's Ring + Captured Flag is really good, you can spam 2 silverhand recruits with 2/2 right from turn 1 on
TheWarkilla I got the extra mana crystal and the 3 secrets at the start and double health. My first and only one shot dungeon run.
Little tip: taunt warrior is amazing unless the final boss is darkness
i only had terrible end boss encounters with mage so far. like five I got to end quite easily.
I completed my dungeon run with mage by taking 3 turns in a row before I killed the final boss
I have somewhere in the realm of 90 victories with mage in the dungeon, I've gotten to the final boss all but one time and I've never beaten it. I had a Giants Mage with 4 moltens, 2 dupes, 2 ice blocks archmage staff and just a ton of great cards plus I'd gotten nearly ideal perks for the build with vitality pot, robes, and warding but then I got the dragon hoard final boss, drew none of my win conditions within the top 22 cards of my deck and lost.

needed this, cant seem to figure out how to win with mage and paladin
I got a version of exodia mage to work, but it died to like boss 5 or something. Ended up beating the final boss with reno mage + wish.
btw 4 times i was able to get a candle rager with doubled deathrattles: IT IS AMAZING. it is almost unbeatable board which is countered only by "silence and destroy all enemy minions" card
Алексей Гладких And "FLUMMOX"!
I beat mage with double health twice with a reno kazakus ink master solia deck
gee, I wonder why that worked :P
lost on the final boss, cuz i had wish too and got majordomo :P
LOL.... oh, hearthstone....
heal 145, damage 152, thanks wish
Mage was by far the easiest. Won on my first try with him lol.
Now I'm noticing that the game WILL cripple your deck if its too one sided so Mage was very easy to spread out the synergy.
*NOTE TO EVERYONE DO NOT CHOOSE STEALTH AS A PASSIVE*
If you don't have a lot of removal you will die to Ix and her hero one shot killers
Yup, I experienced that same event. Picked Mage, won. Mage is by far just the OP hero, anytime within the years of HS.
Heartstone AI need a ton of love
I always go with Chaos, it always ends in chaos...
KRIPP,BIG QUESTION. Did anyone make a blade of quel de ras or wtf its called and is there a video on it?
You need to get the blade + the hilt and be extremely lucky for it. It would be 6/6 weapon for one mana + 6 damage to all enemies. I've read somewhere that some streamer had done it but I don't remember who.
I did 6 Dungeon Runs with mage and lost 5 times against Candlebeard, feels good
I think I've done like 400 something runs on mage, and I have won twice lol. It's sad seeing somebody say a game of random chance is based on skill and choices. But at the end of the day, you can choose the best cards and simply never draw them.
If you get Xol as final boss of a spell-only mage deck, you basically auto-win.
actually your goal with rouge is either jade or fatigue won the dungeon with a fatigue deck
Or C'thun. C'thun Rogue is a seriously nasty deck in this, especially with cost reduction on big dudes.
first try i got reduce your spells by 1 twice and antonidos. Easy game haha.
I one shot mage, but took me a ton of tries on the other classes lol
Got chaos quest elemental Mage wit the treasure that fills your hand with coins and beat it first try
Druid didnt work with jades with me. 4 Avianas and 4 ya'Saraash did the trick.
Really massive deck
Bruh
Go giants mage all the time, it’s nuts
only go giants if you get the 5 mana minion passive, otherwise you'll just die.
Just get Cloak of invisibility, Antonidas and animated armor. Easy win.
I was playing a Deck of Wonders Aluneth mage with Magi Robe and ended up killing myself with Pyroblast. Feelsbadman
Elementals would be good if you get the hero
Jade shaman never worked for me, i tried it many times and finally won with a murloc quest deck =\
I got 2 robes and lots of direct damage. Was op as fuck.
stealth is op in mage stealth doomsayers and antonidius is great
I've beaten mage with stealth + arcane armor, so I didn't even care about board control
three words.... frost lich jaina.
14:50 no wonder you're winning
mage took me 114 ''bosses beaten'' compared to all the other classes which besides warlock and priest i cleared in the first 2 runs... had some pretty crazy rng bullshit happen to the strong mage decks and got shafted on most drafts due to the very random choices you get (5 mana without giants, spelldamage without spells, etc). also a big problem is that battlecry and deathrattle are basicially the worst in mage out of all the classes, so you got really dead options.
Won with quest, death Knight mage deck easy
Or you can just play tempo with+1/+1 and can't lose
Did mage first try and fatigued the final boss
I only have mage left and I've faced over 100 bosses without winning it :c
5:14 for the Skipp.
