I use vinegar eels as a food for very very small fry that I'm transitioning from infusoria/paramecium to BBS. I used to use microworms for this, but I cannot keep those cultures from molding. Vinegar eels are super easy, but the amount of bottles you need takes up way more space than microworm cultures.
Perfect timing for this video as I’ve been looking into this very question! I’ve got some Corydoras sterbai, super red bn pleco, and guppy fry I’m raising at the moment.
I recently have raised Platy frys by using Brine Shrimp eggs, or to be more precise "cysts". I haven't even hatched them, just feed them straight, and they have worked pretty well.
I like to use the baby fry powder stuff...kind of looks like egg yoke after putting it in water. I use it for a week or so before going to vinegar eels. In the mean time, i try to do brine shrimp (if they even hatch). I don't have a lot of fry, so i limit how much shrimp i hatch. Once big enough, i go to crushed flakes.
Talking infusoria I bred some bettas and used almond leaf for the first time. I bred in a white tub 1 almond leaf and some frogbit by the time the fry hatched the water was full of infusoria. Usually I culture the infusoria separately but wow not any more 👍
I remember you doing an infusoria culture in a tub with moss. did I work ?. copapods is a good food especially If you've got some green water sitting about. another great video though 👌
Awesome video Nick,! one of my favorites from all the fish TH-cam vids I have watched. I only run the two brine hatcheries and I do get gaps between hatches.
I use copepods for as a better sources than brine shrimp. The adults are about same size as Brine shrimp nauplii and they are very easy to culture. The copepod nauplii are much smaller and could be used instead of paramecia. I raise them in large glass container with small amount of powdered spirulina. Then I just pour out in container through a micro sieve., 75 for adults the 10 for nauplii.
Just found your channel. Great videos. Looking at making my own auto fry feeder for my koi fries. Was feeding them decapsulated brine shrimp eggs. Trying daphnia culture this season as well. Along with BBS. Bit of variety for them.
I made this mixture for my baby fry and it has clouded my water so bad they are in a birthing net on the inside of a 10 gallon tank they are three days old I'm crushing flake into a very fine and also the micro pellets I'm crushing those as well cleaning out their net twice a day but the culture I started really clouds up the whole tank is it safe for my mollies my Guppies and also my dwarf African frog

Hello, I just want to say, our baby fry we’re living perfectly, but a week later, they all started dying, do you know what happened?
How do I tell if my baby common pleco is a girl or a boy
Chicken yokes are yellow, Duck yokes are orange. Only saying because you said you couldn't see the colours.
Sorry, when boiled. They are orange raw.
Why is Dafnia not on the list?
There’s so many things you can feed baby fish too!….wait 🤪
👍🏻👍🏻
I just feed freeze dried shredded pure krill from Northfin, or fry starter from New Life Spectrum. Works great. Never have die offs or stunting.
I find that nearly all fish love hard boiled egg yolk.

Not orange, yellow.
Can you redo this video without all the background noise? Was a real distraction.
@Infinity361 It is polite. I want to hear what he has to say. Otherwise, I wouldn't have even given feedback.
