    This helped me understand my 12 xp much better! I really couldn't figure out how to rewind and how to use the timer. Thanks a lot. :)

    Hi!
    I have one of these cameras, and I love it, but even when I´ve seen this video and taken a look to your great review, still have a problem you may kindly solve by this way: may you tell me if there´s a way to turn the lightmeter off? I don´t know wich is this way, and the only thing I can do to avoid wasting my batteries in a few hours, is retire them from the camera.
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Regards.

      Just take the batteries out. The only thing that needs them is the lightmeter

    Hello i have some questions.

    -Batteryes are requiered to work in the timer mode?
    Thanks.

      Pedro Gabriel Mejia Well its a plus if thay fitt.It uses two SR43 which is smaller then the much more common SR44.But I had no problems finding this smaller typ.The name of the battary my differ in your country.Battary is also only needed for the light meter, everything ells is mechanical.

      @@pedrogabrielmejia6093 hey, don't know if you're still interested in this, but just in case: you have to press the shutter down half and move it to "V". Then activate the timer and it'll work. He's showing it beginning at 2:42. That's working with my camera at least. :)

    Would this make a good beginner camera as I an taking an intro to film course soon?

    • @BlogBKSpicture

      Would go with something a little newer for that use, unless you really like older Russian cameras with M42.
      I like the hand cranked cameras from the 80s for practical use.
      Im really happy with my Chinon CG-5 for example and could be great for this.
      Has more or less all feture you might ever need, plastic exterior but metal body.
      Usually qute cheap, has a good viewfinder, option for auto shutter with a easy to use luck shutter button.
      Also a flash sync if you are going to take pictures in a studio.
      There is also Chinon CE-5 which is more or less the same camera but with one stop faster maximum shutter speed (1/2000s).
      Also a CE-4 which I would expect are just as nice but have never tryed it.
      If you are okey with spending a little more money then I would go with Nikon.
      Like any of the Nikon FE or FM.

      Sorry don't have any experience with that.
      People at forum.mflenses.com/ are usually very helpfull and knowledgeable when it comes to old cameras.
      Hopefully someone there might be able to help you.

      +Pedro H. Well even a banged up one can still work just fine mechanically.

    Well wheres my light meter and how i use it?

    • @BlogBKSpicture
      @BlogBKSpicture  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You press the shutter button half way which should light up led light in the viewfinder.
      There are two of them, one for over and the other for under exposed while both blinks when it's spot on.
      But you need a battery for this to work.

    • @cia9315
      @cia9315 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BlogBKSpicture thank you for the instructions but the battery is in there and no leds are lighting up.....the thing that confused me is that i saw once the red light lighting up but only one time...

    • @BlogBKSpicture
      @BlogBKSpicture  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be defective or you have a dead battary.
      Have had old cameras like this where there was dirt on the little metal pins that connects to the battery and the light meter diden't work becouse of this.
      But scraped the metal pins with a flat screwdriver which did the trick and that might be worth a try on yours.

    next time talk! - use your words - watching someone play with a camera is rather dull and does little to help others understand

      These videos are complements to written reviews and are not intended to be entertaining or teach basics.
      More to show where things are found, how things sounds etc.
      But appreciate the feedback and keep snapping!
