    (SPOILER) The part that sucks at the realization that Nell is the Bent Neck Lady is that Arthur just simply died from an aneurysm and not from any supernatural force, and Nell was just not able to accept that.

      But then why would Nell kill her own husband?

    This scene alone brought so much fear to me. Victoria Pedretti (Eleanor; Nell) is so good in this series. Her acting is phenomenal and very realistic and here, I can almost feel her terror of watching her husband die in front of her eyes while having sleep paralysis! Great scene and great acting.

    the first half of this is actually pretty accurate to what sleep paralysis feels like. You can only blink and the only sounds you can make is small moaning whines at the back of your throat. Even Nell being as loud as she is, is pretty loud. I've had sleep paralysis a couple of times never really tried talking cause I always knew what it was and that it would go away eventually. So I just laid back and tried to go back to sleep thinking "next time you wake up, it'll be normal and you'll be able to move again" Really helped keep me calm.
    After watching this I thought you should be able to make louder sounds than what Nell was making. Like a high pitch squeal or something to alert other people. so I tested it out next sleep paralysis hit me. I couldn't even get anywhere near as loud as Nell was in this scene, then I started to freak out a bit before going to my old tried and tested method of just attempting to go back to sleep.

    • @lance694
      @lance694 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's literally the worst. Mine's never when I'm waking up, its always when I'm lounging around and start nodding off in the middle of the afternoon. It feels hard to breathe but that's more annoying than scary tbh. I can cope with the shallow breathing, my thing I that I start getting freaked out and paranoid that someone's going to come in and be like "yo, you fell asleep, get up and go to bed" and I'll be there semi-awake and unable to move and then they'll start freaking out and calling 911 and shit, and then that stress seems like it makes it even harder to get control of it and snap myself out of it. Like the thought of the potential embarrassment that being found in a round of it just amps everything up so much more than it should. It's illogical because I've discussed it with my family so they know not to freak out but I forget that every time it happens. Once I can get a finger or toe to wiggle it's almost instantly over but it's stressful AF in the moment.

    • @nairda38
      @nairda38 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I completely agree that the first half is accurately portrayed, although like you, I’ve never been able to make any sounds.
      My tried and true method once I realize what’s happening is to immediately close my eyes (or else the shadows will start appearing) and then just in my head keep saying “Move your fingers. Move your toes. Move your fingers. Move your toes.” If I start hearing voices or sounds that shouldn’t be there, I double my efforts to move something and keep my eyes closed and usually say a prayer (something that will focus your mind around one singular thought works). Once I can feel one finger or toe move, then I tell myself to keep working until I can move multiple, and then I’ll tell myself to lift my hand or leg. By that time, I’m usually able to move more of my body and wake myself up, at which point, unless I was super scared, I just fall back asleep.

    • @onlytruth2065
      @onlytruth2065 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once I was really loud cause my parents heard me trying to scream in another room.. So sometimes you can be loud (kind of).. My special method to fake up is to trying scream and pray lol maybe that's the case (I shocked how brave you are to trying continue sleep, cause at that moments my only wish to make my body move and not to sleep ever again :D)

    • @GoofysBandit
      @GoofysBandit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I experience sleep paralysis pretty often, maybe once a week, and it's been that way for the last 4 or 5 years. The only thing I am ever able to do, is control my breathing. If I exhale hard enough through my nose and mouth, I can make a quick grunting-like noise kind of like a horse makes, or a dog when it smells something it doesn't like. It's loud enough to wake my partner, who knows to push my legs off the edge of the bed (because she isn't strong enough to lift me up) and the moment my bottom half touches the ground I come out if it pretty quick.
      Lol when we first started dating I explained to her this condition, and that if she hears me making that noise, to try and shake my body or just to straight up push me out of the bed onto the floor. The first few times it happened with her, I would make that noise and she would wake up and just start rubbing my back as if I were having a bad dream. God I can't tell you how frustrating that was!! It's like, oh God finally she's awake- wait what's she doing? She's just rubbing my back?!
      I just wanted to scream "push me out of the bed already!"

      It's a good twist, but after a while I thought it was dumb because now you're getting into time travel and paradoxes and whatnot. In a haunted house show.
      Also the Red Room thing - that was another good twist. But then it's like, are you telling me a father would not notice his kids are playing a treehouse that doesn't exist? Like, "Oh how was your day kids?"
      "Dad we spend the whole day playing in the treehouse!"
      "Treehouse? Say what?!" 0_o
