Ironically, at almost 63 yrs of age, I just learned my dad’s first job on his ship in the Navy was sounding tanks! I’d never heard of it. You can watch his pinning ceremony by Hospice on my TH-cam channel when he tells story. I know he was also a shopkeeper. But thanks for the video I can share with those who didn’t understand what this was.
Thank you for making this video. I had countless of sleepless nights thinking how do they sound tanks onboard. Good thing I found your channel. Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Hahahahah yessss my friend, I also did not know about sounding until I joined a ship.. Unfortunately my acadamy did not show us this even though it's so basic.. I know how you feel bro!
Thanks mate. I am soon to be 2nd officer and I had done this only a few times as cadet on the same ship, so these kinds of vids help me preparing the real deal.
Heya dude no problema and it's a simple but necessary job to be done every day.. And be sure to double check it someone else does it.. Bad readings can cause big problems
Natürlich, Ich kann auch ein bißchen Deutsch weil ich hab am BSM gearbeitet haha. Yeah German is also important but not so much as English, if I could trade my knowledge of languages for engineering and mechanical skills I would haha.
Amigo, I'm very happy to read your words of support, even though the maritime engineering community is small they are amazing! I'll keep making these small videos as a fun hobby and hopefully inspire new cadets to share as well.
Its not easy my friend, look on linked in, connect with companys online, and if all else fails try national companys just to get some experience..with good experience jobs will come easier.
