    Hey man, just wanted to say i'm really enjoying your Sri Lanka videos. Just found your channel while doing some research before coming myself in January. The vids are really well put together, super good quality footage and most of all man you're a super chilled dude which is really appreciated compared to lots of these over-the-top travel vlogs I see everywhere these days. Thanks for your videos dude!

    Sri padha holi foot print.
    Budhist has been climbing up to worship for 1000s of years. After British arrived in Srilanka they started to call it Adams Peak. And Hindus were brought in to work in the tea plantation s from South India. Those people started to call it sivas foot print, very reasonably Muslims also started to climb .because Adams has to do something with their faith.
    So now everyone climb s but ancient budhist temple and worship places still exists. And budhist are very tolerant and they don't mind if more religions claim of something of theirs and climb up.
    Have a wonderful journey
    Thanks for visiting Srilanka

    You mentioned you ascended using a local people / monks used route to the summit and returned back by the common route.
    Is there any direction/pointer to this route?

      @jagathvidyarathne7530 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes possible but you have to get permission from the area police since the travel alone may be risky due to difficult terrain and weather conditions. Also in off season usually no shops and only very occasional ttravellers and may be wild animals in the area.

      @@miniminikelebek i was there at 01. dezember 2023 and it was a really good decision. There were no people and no traffic jam. (as we arrived at the top at 06:30, there were about 20 ppl) the only bad thing was, that the temple was closed ´cause its off season. i would recommend to start arount 01:00 - 02:00 AM and climb it by night (hatton side). dont forget a jacket cause its really cold up there when you´ll arrive at 06:00-07:00 morning. to climb the adams peak at night and go down when the sun came out is so beautiful beacause you can discover both faces of the adams peak.
      if you are looking for a hotel, i can recommend the Harrington Heritage. It was really beatiful, kind people an really really good food for a very low price. but you´ll need a driver to get there and you have to drive 1h by car to get to start point of adams peak.
      if you need a driver, let me now, i can also recommend a really nice and good driver. we went 8 days with him and it was a really good decision.

    • @princebuster93
      @princebuster93 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ fad, they say it’s where Adam first stepped foot on earth, but I don’t think that’s a fact, if you read the Bible.

      The original name of Adam's peak is 'Sri Pada'. That is the Sinhala (Main language of Sri Lanka) name. Because there is a left side foot print of load buddha. The realtime written history of Sri Lanka named Mahawamsa gives evidence for that. And Sri Lanka is a Buddhist country from 2500 years ago.
      But in the British colonial period English people used the word Adam's peak. Because they thought Sri Lanka is the paradise mentioned in the Bible. And that foot print belongs to Adam. I'm not a Christian. therefore I don't know that much deep on teachings in the bible.
      I'm from Sri Lanka and I invite you to visit our country. 😊
