Really excited to go skate in New York for the first time ever in a few weeks. 49 yrs old, been skating since I was 10. "Skateboarding is the fountain of youth" - BK
Visited this spot from Toronto, Canada during my NYC trip in May. Thought I’d be able to cop a couple tricks at least but it’s gnarlier in person than it looks in videos/photos. Much taller, and the edge is so rounded and the gaps in the marble are chunky as hell.
how am i just now finding this channel?! great work man, 27 and still skating hard, love anything on the topic of the history of skating, keep it up bro
Man I remember when me and my friends had a skate trip to NYC and we stumbled upon this spot on our way to Brooklyn banks. Front side nose slide felt so awesome there. Brooklyn banks just smelt like piss lol still iconic but it smelt haha.
People still skate in nyc? Right on! Thought it was all longboards and shit now. Every time someone says they skateboard or have a skateboard and I ask to ride it... they pull out some strange longboard/pennyboard
@@ThatSB hey longboarding is badass too, I used to be into downhill stuff. Different crafts that deserve respect, but yeah, I hate it when people call skateboards longboards and vice versa
Hit that on my bmx 14 years ago its deff a weird ledge to grind. But one of my favorite spots to this day is the Chinatown banks. I could ride those all day. No one likes them for some reason but I had so much fun riding there.
Hubbas in general are such a weird architectural phenomenon. They serve no purpose other than being something to hold onto while using stairs, which handrails do much better and have got to be way cheaper. It's almost like they were put on earth just for street skating.
This is legit. Took 3 NY trips in 04/05 was actually at flushing for New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day. Saw Brian Brown at the Brooklyn banks when Reda was taking a picture of him doing a backside 180 fakie 50 180 out on the box that was on the banks. My friends and I were just out of the photo in Transworld. Good times man.
So sad when spots get buried. A few local spots of mine got that treatment a nice 2 step courthouse by me they put metal fence in front so can't skate it. And round the corner was a sketchy 3 stair they put metal pole in the middle of landing and those bobbly surface at the top for blind people. And a 6 stair got the bobbly surface on top n bottom rip my spots
broke my foot skating too hard, cant skate, its fucking July, i should be out there, but I'm crippeld as FUCK. Lemme just tell ya, you guys are making all this waitin around a lil less miserable. Keep doin what you're doin bud..❤
As someone who’s always been outside the culture, I just wanna say skate culture is blessed. I have yet to meet a skater I didn’t like. Seems like there is general positivity and support, a real rebellious counterculture worth investing in. Cheers
This series is epic and will be a solid part of skateboarding history for sure. You should do major spots in other states as well!! LA courthouse, SF China banks, etc.. anyways🙏🏼 thank you! Btw just found out what jenkem was.. lol fuck
Give the person who thought up this series a raise
Ya and oral
please do more evolution of segments, they're great!
This is badass. Thanks jenkem
Hey guys Cruxal, here is the no bullsh*t guide to fs 360 the blubba
Cruxal wait can you skate?
Zered Bassett is criminally underrated. If you haven’t already, check out his “Vicious Cycle” and “State of Mind” parts. They are insane.

**He didn’t use the clip because he didn’t have enough speed rolling away** We need this philosophy in bmx
Jarad Taylor fuck yes we do
180 feeble fakie bar out. Lands with no speed and freecoaster. *yeah let’s use that clip! 🤦🏻♂️

I remember my 1st time lip sliding Black Hubba about 10 years ago, brings back great memories.

Where’s Nick Boserios nose grind tho???
My uncle installed that, he wasnt too happy at first but then didn't mind after a while because it wasn't his problem lol
Hit that on my bmx 14 years ago its deff a weird ledge to grind. But one of my favorite spots to this day is the Chinatown banks. I could ride those all day. No one likes them for some reason but I had so much fun riding there.

Damn thx for bringing up Billy Rohan. Probably the first ever skateboarder interview I've read was from him in Titus 00 or 01 edition. Awesome guy!

These segments are amazing. Thank you
Super interesting concept for series :) Thanks! Keep up the good work.
Whenever they ask RB what his favorite is he always shouts out Zered being the switch GOAT, that's fucking awesome. He's the homie for sure.

And where's the nose manual up it?
1:49 dollars to donuts it was the Animal crew. They've done decades of work in improving NYC spots.
Little Andy! Wow haven't seen him since like 94
Love stuff like this keep them coming

DOPE that casper at the end very nice!

I'd rather have a spot buried than I'd have a blind person falling of a six stair...
Heavy shit! I like seeing all the crazy tricks down these heavy spots! More videos like these please!
Such sick videos , keep up the good work guys!
Willie Wilson did heelflip back noseslide... deserves to be on here
That back noseblitz must be one of the most gnarliest thing this ledge has taken
did you know JENKEM is a drug made from fermented poo
sniff sniff
"Sammy, you do not want to try this drug. It's really strong and not for everybody."
Butt hash!
Its good "shit"
Freestyle Skateboarder Pete Betti Ollied up & did a 180 Truckstand on it
Siiick, dude. So cool to hear about freestylers skating street spots
Dude this is really interesting and well.dine.. I dont even skate but it's dope
When he said "I've seen people get served on that ledge, it's too rounded" I imagine he easy thinking of one specific person who shall not be named 😂
bruh the casper off it to is the last clip damn nice way to end it but my god give us time to take that in holy shit
s/o tyshawn jones 🙏🏽
That was sick
Good upload
Don't forget that fs noseslide pop in by Daan!

back noseblunt way before Suciu?
So good!
this took me back !
these are great
In another video they said is hard to get any tricks in here
more of these
Really informative, really dope 🙏
Investment in intellectual art meets freedom of self expression. Hard and soft. A balance. You determine the difference.
This video is soo sick
@ :18 he was like yo put me by the rainbow shit cause I might not ride boards anymore but I most definitely ride dhick now adays
I wish I was more of a skate nerd. I can never remember exact tricks done in videos.
The front side 360 😲😲😲😲🥳🥳🥳😍
As someone who’s always been outside the culture, I just wanna say skate culture is blessed. I have yet to meet a skater I didn’t like. Seems like there is general positivity and support, a real rebellious counterculture worth investing in. Cheers
it wasnt the BMX guys who took off the rail , it was definitely the rollerbladers
This series is epic and will be a solid part of skateboarding history for sure. You should do major spots in other states as well!! LA courthouse, SF China banks, etc.. anyways🙏🏼 thank you! Btw just found out what jenkem was.. lol fuck
wade d do nollie heel nose down it?
Tiago Lemos- Nollie Flip Frontside Noseslide
You just want more!!
Maybe an unpopular opinion but the nose bluntslide was so much gnarlier that he came of the normal pinch
If you’re looking for a dope spot to film a part and a videographer hmu
In nyc i mean
has anyone kickflip back tailed it?
Dont forget the push 5050 in the fountain
Pls do brooklyn banks
y'all done Chris millic dirty, he went off the fountain itself
Clean ass tre to lip. Some videogame shit right there
Umali looking like a long long Penn brother.
Freestyle Skater Pete Betti Ollied up & did a Truckstand
I'm surprised he didn't slip
Nose wheeling up was the best trick for me
The person behind the camera: ye, ye, ye
Do one on bubble banks. RIP bubble banks.
Yall Forgot Jon Pine's Noseblunt Bigspin From Wasted Youth smh
