Do you have any problems with latency while controlling Reachy when it’s outside? Also are you using the Internet over 4g/5g for controlling while Reachy is outside?
Latency depends on the quality of your internet connection, however note that we've run teleoperation tests from very remote countries (e.g. from France to the west coast of Canada) and latency was minimal We used an internal version of the app based on webRTC rather than gRPC to communicate with the robot. Furthermore for this video we were directly connected to the hotspot of the robot!
Hello Angelo! Unfortunately, we can't sell Reachy at a lower price because of the component's price. Our solution is already cheap compared to most of the other robots sold nowadays.
You say you're open source, how are you open source? Can I just print the parts? Or do I have to buy your 30k robot? I fail to see how it's open source.
Would love your take on bipedal locomotion, as my team needs navigation on stairs, but this is a very good compromise!
Reachy is the future~
slightly creepy but amazing dying to see if my company has enough budget to spring for one
Interesting remark, why do you think it is creepy?
