    Yo, from an engineering perspective, the "There are graphics on the boxes, the boxes have holes" those two things are HUGE!! Please don't write off the genius of these robots and these engineering teams!!

    Boston dynamics is a very exceptional and reliable company the robotics are awesome you have atlas,spot,and a lot more that I actually do not know I have been looking forward to when I grow up as getting and engineering degree which would be awesome keep it up Boston dynamics!

      you can replicate just about everything they've shown publicly in your own private workshop if you have resources and are motivated / smart enough. plenty of individuals are already doing these things. you'll probably be limited by budget but you can 3d print parts to save costs, etc.

    Boston Dynamics has come a long way since the birth of Atlas, and Big Dog! I am happy to see you all have fun tweaking with their programming to have fun in showcasing their skills, and fine motor functions! I believe it is all real as technology has come a long way! Excellent job to the Boston Dynamic team and their robotic counterparts!

      a dream job will usually give you creative freedom. corporations have lots of red tape and usually don't let you stray too far outside of the higher ups vision. thankfully individuals are gaining access to technologies that will allow them to build these types of robots at home with minimal investment. once laser sintering technologies become more affordable it will be a real game changer.

      @@kreuinos6333 That depends on what you want to do. At a company like this you're going to be told what to do for a long while before you actually get real creative freedom. Nothing really wrong with that and it probably would be fun for a lot of people. But if you have your own ideas then maybe it's not the place to settle for long.

    I remember in an old sci-fi book (Asimov, probably) a pair of humanoid robots tossing bits of gear to each other. Thing was that they threw so fast humans could not see it. The robots arms moved so fast, and their reactions were so good it was beyond our senses. Not sure if I want to see that, but would be interesting to see how fast Spot et al could throw and reliably catch. Maybe.
