Unboxing Plaisir Fountain Pen - ASMR

  • Relax as I unbox yet another inexpensive fountain pen. This pen is the Plaisir made by Platinum. This is not a formal review of the pen but rather just a guy opening up his new toy.
    This is a revised version of the original video which I removed due to the formation of a unexpected, unfortunate, "shape" made from the converging drops of honing oil on the whet stone used for sharpening the knife. Sorry to take away everyone's fun...lol.

    Much of what you see in my videos is just me doing the types of relaxing, quiet activities I've always done. I discovered relaxation and ASMR videos on TH-cam last year and realized that I did much of those same things myself even without a camera recording my every move. After receiving an iPhone as a gift, I created a channel and uploaded a simple video. It was fun, so I uploaded more videos of my quiet pursuits. Thanks for watching.

    I sure recognize that packaging! I'm glad everything inside was okay. This is the first I've come across your videos, and I must say, I love them! I may do an homage to your 'whisper' style in one of my next videos. :) Great stuff.

    I do have one Waterman fountain pen, but it needs a bit of work. As far as the Parler 5th; It may be a nice writing pen but a felt-tip pen with a fake nib to disguise it as a fountain pen does not appeal to me personally, especially at over a hundred dollars. Thanks for watching:)

    That is one beautiful knife. The hand grip grabbed my attention quickly. I love the humor and I know my son would agree and the seemingly paradoxical intentions added to this piece. I love it! BTW I am surprised you did not wear EOD gloves and PPE.

    A well maintained fountain pen with the right kind of ink doesn't generally skip. As far as smudging a line above the line you are writing, I don't understand how you could do that when your hand is below any ink that hasn't dried completely. Personally, I do not have smudging issues. Everyone should have a fountain pen if they enjoy putting ink to paper. They don't know what they're missing:)

    The thing about writing with a fountain pen is that it provides you with feedback as you write. This feedback allows you to feel what is happening so that you are able to control the pen more accurately, thus your writing will look better. Fountain pens write much smoother than a ball-point, but not like a golf ball on ice which is how a typical gel roller ball feels. I routinely use a Parker Jotters with gel roller ball refills and I'm all over the place with those things. Try a fountain pen!

    • @thothheartmaat2833
      @thothheartmaat2833 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Papa Hill the tapping has become so ridiculous.. just nervous fidgeting.. far from relaxing. It's now mostly just teen performance art and nothing to do with asmr. The real asmr is like this guy just doing regular boring stuff. Like when people used to unbox their electronics and it was boring before people starting being loud and obnoxious on here.. the TH-cam personality...

    I think it helps the blade glide on the stone for easier and better sharpening. Some people use water or saliva as well. My dad and brother use wet stones and spit on theirs. Which is disgusting but oh well. Lol.

    Without seeing the pen I couldn't tell you which Parker you have. What you need to do is go to the parkerpens site. It's a dot net site, not dot com. In the left-hand column, scroll down until you see the link "Which model is my pen?". There you can view all the different models of Parkers. Click on the one that resembles yours and it will tell you all about it. Hope this helps:)

    Hello Sir,
    great video, very relaxing!
    helped me fall asleep very fast!
    I have a little question for you (not about this video)
    My dad recently gave me one of his old fountain pens, it's a parker, and it is very beautiful, the nib sort of blends in with the hilt of the pen, so it is very streamlined.
    it is fully metal only the clip is gold-colored.
    i do however not know at all what type or name the pen is or has.. Do you by any chance know what pen i am speaking of?
    thank you in advance! :)

      In my mind the way he does it draws excess metal material away from the sharp of the blade, and bluntens the sharp of the blade on the other side. I prefer DeepFryGoats Method.

    • @ITSBEDTIMESIR

      @MnPfan 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If it was a standard stone, he would be doing it correctly. He's using an Arkansas stone which is a honing stone and not a sharpening stone. sharpening removes metal while honing polishes. Honing should have the edge trailing the spine and sharpening has the edge leading
