Owen, the S-Curve is the idealized general form of all learning curves. Your slowing performance will be followed by significant improvements. Just do it. Merry Christmas!
5:05 the move Bd6 is a really beautiful move because if queen takes you play Bxh7 and you win the queen but that is a really tough move to find and I wouldn’t have seen it if it wasn’t for the engine suggestion
I spotted it in the game actually, I was surprised that my lichess engine prefered Re1 slightly, I was guessing because c5 is so weak we dont have to take it now and allow unnecessary counterplay. I didnt calculate far enough, the engine shows Bd6 Re8 Bxc5 Qa5 Be3 e5 which is a bit unpleasant for sure.
@@traderduke2 I think people will hate me if I say I really didn't like the Queens gambit, but I thought it was really poorly written, so much so that I couldn't finish it, but I am happy that it brought about a chess revival.
@Blunder_Man God, agree 100% on Queen's Gambit. I thought it was pure trash. Another ridiculous attempt to push that narrative, like they tried with the Star Wars films. Searching For Bobby Fischer, on the other hand, was perfectly done. The only other chess movie I've seen, worth watching, is "Pawn Sacrifice." Not great, but had some fine performances in it. Michael Stuhlbarg from that movie, was also excellent in "Boardwalk Empire." That was a great series on HBO in case you have yet to see it.
@@traderduke2 I am glad to know that I am not the only one... I was really really shocked at how well the show was received... similarly to how well Rings of Power has been received. It's complete and utter trash and yet apparently people love it. I am glad to know there are some sane people in my TH-cam comments hahaha I haven't seen those, I'll check them out for sure! Thanks!
