These pieces really are superb. They sound like some Alban Berg, blended with the luminescent piano music of Georges Enesco, all with foundation of Schulhoff's jazz "style" (for want of a more precise word)(if one can discern a "style" across his oeuvre (not certain)). Thanks for posting this. 👌
Agree. Sounds like a fusion of jazz rhythm with impressionistic harmonies (especially the second sounds like some of Debussy's preludes from 2nd book), sometimes polytonality. Excellent stuff!
Wow, he predicts Kapustin with this! Especially at the measures at 1:46. Or let's say, he inspired him. 9:29 is similar to the beginning of Kapustin's Sonata No. 2, and 11:30 to the last measures of the finale!
Well WOW! YEAH ! This is so HOT it actually is COOL!!! So enjoyable. A Man with style. Curse the Nazis for what they did to him snd millions of others. A head of his time.
Brilliant composition. When you keep in mind this is from 1926 it's even more impressive. It still sounds so modern today
These preludes are quite marvelous. Enjoyed listening. Thks.

It's no surprise Berg and Schulhoff were friends!
The first Etude anticipates the sonorities of some of Ligeti's Etudes! Really remarkable.
This is futuristic
