- Back then when you want a compact hatchback, you have a few choices like the kenari, the kancil, the tiara and this. This car was the answer for those who want a small hatchback but at the same time they don't want to be seated in a car with a national car badge. What you benefit from this Korean product is that you enjoy an interior built quality which is surprisingly solid, and you also get 3 gears and one overdrive gear while other competitors only get 3 speed autos sadly. This car is the long forgotten Inokom/Hyundai Atos. Just like the Hyundai Getz that came out a few years after the Atos, when other fancier alternatives were launched, the Atos immediately lost consumer attention in the spilt of a second. Now that you don't see many of them on the road, you may keep it and one day join a classic car event in future and flaunt this Atos that you have to the newer generation who have little to no idea of this car's existence.
Powered by a 1.1 litre 4 cylinder engine which is being paired to a 4 speed automatic transmission, the Atos does behave in a very sluggish manner when you have to chauffeur 4 overweight occupants. However, sit only the driver and the Atos reaches illegal but ethical highway speeds of 120km/h with arguably fair levels of ease.
Comfort is good for a Korean car of that era. When car manufacturers are still fresh with things, they tend to be unable to provide the best kind of comfort for their customers. But with the Atos, occupants are able to feel a sense of effort that Hyundai has put in to make the Atos as comfortable as they can.

I have one year 2004 1.1 auto. Once before involve in malacca big flood, so far have been to lumut, ipoh, genting, fraser hill, cameron highland, kl, and jb. To date not much issues. Btw man, you presentation quite good. Cheers...

The atos isn't that bad of a car, but parts are hard to find and can be expensive cuz they have to be imported from Korea.

Haha okay. If you're looking forward to pay cash, the myvi 2005 is not bad. U can also look forward to the saga blm but reliability is on the poorer side.

Your friend’s headlamps are dim because they need polishing after exposed to UV rays... I like your review on this often overlooked soon-to-be classic car. I have one as well. :)
Thank you for watching! Few weeks ago I helped my friend to clean his headlamps by using Waxco Plastic Cleaner fluid :) looks cleaner now by at night when there are no street lights he still has to switch on his high beam setting only is he able to see the road well.
By the way glad to know u have an atos too. What year is yours and what transmission does it have?

@@NokiaHumanForm The year is 2007 and runs on auto transmission. My mileage has hit over 200,000km recently, after 12 years of usage. :)

Over drive on that gear for what???
Switching on OVER DRIVE makes it shift all the way up to 4th gear. Switching it off makes it stay in third gear. Meant for climbing or driving down steep roads as engine braking can be applied.

Not too sure. But fuel consumption is quite poor for its engine capacity. My family's iriz does 14km/l but the atos is worst

my car hyundai atoz .. my car problem injector no 1 & 2 does not work.I unplugged one of the wire sockets.I noticed injector no 1 & 2 did not work .but incector no 3 & 4 works..
