    After my 2017 CR-V was totaled, I did a lot of research, drove many cars, hybrid and all electric. I ended up getting this vehicle a week ago. I am very happy with it so far. Interior fit and finish is excellent. Cabin is very quiet, no wind noise at all; It was 82 db at 70 mph which is the same as my 2017 but the frequency is different somehow and conversation was easier and our perception was that it is quieter. I have never had the highest trim level in a car before and am enjoying the bells and whistles plus the safety features. So far, 37.5 mpg with almost all highway driving (some in the mountains).

    +1 for Lane Watch. I'm not so sure it works on both mirrors, though. When signaling right, I can get a quick glance at the screen, as I'm checking my right mirror. I wouldn't look at the screen if I'm turning left.
    But how many drivers even used their turn signal to take advantage of the feature in the first place? 😂

    I bought a ‘23 sport touring & I’m very happy with the purchase. The ride is smooth, the sound system is great. As for gas mileage I’ve gotten as low as 36 highway and as high as 40. Around town I’m getting anywhere from 42 to 57 mpg! I love this vehicle.

      @@fetus4601 My husband has a lexus with ventilated seats and honestly we hardly use it. It's a nice perk, but not the end of the world. I had the Lanewatch camera on my 2018 Honda Fit Ex before it got totaled last month. It was a useful feature as a Mobile DJ especially with gigs that required me to use all my cargo space which gave a me a huge blind spot. Although the camera was only on the right side, it was perfect for merging out of the highway. Although I do miss the lane watch camera; what I like about the blinding spot monitoring on my new 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport is its on both the passenger and the driver's side view mirror.

    • @s.patterson5698
      @s.patterson5698 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      I have no idea why Hoda did away with the lanewatch. I have it on my 2015 Accord and that has saved me so many times from hitting cyclists trying to sneak through on my right side. I literally refuse to replace my Accord with any new Accord because of that. I am keeping it till it doesn't run anymore.

    • @cloudysky9395
      @cloudysky9395 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I agree with you 100%. I had a 2017 honda pilot with that camera. That's a life saver. I often drive in dark and narrow rural streets. I had recently deposited $1000 for the 2023 crv hybrid sport touring because I loved this car but I canceled it because it doesn't have a spare tire, fog lights and they even got rid of the lane change camera too.blind spot monitors can't replace the lane change camera. Very disappointed with crv.Honda should not do this just to save a little bit money. I have impaired vision and these features are really lifesavers for me. Instead I bought the 2023 toyota rav4 hybrid xle premium.

    About the front armrest: I'm 6'2" and I'm happy the armrest is not taller or it would be in the way of my right elbow. This is actually one of the things that ruled out some cars for me this year and in the past, most notably the Kia Sportage and a few Hyundais. It seems like they should start making these adjustable, since it's a common problem for me (I cant 'even imagine for people taller than me).
    Great video, thanks!

    Nice review. We are on our 4th CRV now, a 2021 EXL 1.5t. We had a 2004 EX, a 2007 EXL, a 2017 EXL and our current one. There are things I liked about each but our 21 is overall my favorite. I set the B trip every time I change the oil, 5000 miles, to get a long range look at fuel mileage. I just changed the oil recently with an average of 36.1 for the 5000 miles. Our weekly drives are mostly rural roads, to and from work, day trips, but seldom any highway miles. Still, I do like the sport hybrid. In a couple years when we are ready this may well be our 5th CRV.

    I bought 2024 crv sport L and I love the car with two exceptions. First on the front grille it has three areas top and lower corners that are blocked out which no air can pass and can be prone to dirt and it might be difficult to get out. I also can not get the temp of on the gauge for the radiator, so there is not cold or hot on the gauge. There is a temp for the outside air , but nothing for the car radiator, and I tried to play around with the gauge settings and it is not there.Overall love the chiseled look of the back end.

    Thanks for a terrific review on this car. We just bought one (won't be delivered for a couple of endless weeks) and it's nice to see some of the features in use. There are a lot of new features that I'm slightly concerned about, but perhaps I'll get used to them and learn to appreciate them. You said a "conventional style shifter - no push button shifter here". Now the one that we looked at was a '23, and to shift, you had to first pull back on a safety trigger located on the front. I was very not thrilled by this. Has this been removed on the '24 model? I hope so.

    OH, I forgot to mention. The one thing that I asked the dealer about is if Honda has done anything to stop thieves from detecting the fob code and stealing this vehicle. Like so easily happens with previous years.
    Sadly, he said that there wasn't too much done, but recommended that to avoid that, don't use the fob to unlock the doors (or lock) at a distance. WELL THAT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE.
    The government needs to step in and demand that all manufacturers have anti-theft systems built in and not as an option, but as a base feature.

      They all have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so you can still have navigation assistance via your phone. Wired in the LX, EX & Sport Hybrid. Wireless in the EX-L, Sport-L Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid. I would much rather use Google over any car maker's own navigation system.

    • @amesasw

      They don't offer one. It has a tire temporary repair kit. Looks like it sprays some temporary sealer into the tire and inflates it enough to drive to get it serviced. This is pretty similar to an undersized spare as you can really drive much on those either.
      If its a super bad puncture though sounds like it might not inflate it enough. So then you need roadside assistance.

    • @matthewmcgee

    I looked at one of these just yesterday. Fortunately, the dealer had a red one. I personally HATE gray cars and don't understand how anyone could buy any vehicle with that depressing gray color. LOL But I dgress.
    I quite liked it. The ride is so smooth and I love the instrument panel and 9" screen.
    I love the way you can configure the dash to display what we want and not just locked into what a designer wants.
    But before buying this thing, I think I'll wait for this dealer to get the plug-in version.
    However, I'd have to confirm that it will still function like this one does, with the gas engine only coming on when needed and that when it does, it can still put some charge into the batteries.
    I'm not sure, but I THINK that most plug-in hybrids have to be plugged in to charge the batteries and the engine doesn't do so on the run.
    We'll see.

    Few sticking points. Just bought two 2023's in the last month. There is absolutely no storage space. Under the deck in the rear cargo area is the hybrid battery. Can't store anything with it, even though every salesperson at the dealer took the trim off to show the space. NOT ONE SALESPERSON KNEW! And every one damaged the trim putting it back. (I did the same myself but made the dealer replace it since they showed the space and I removed the trim before finding out online it's no go for storage.) Other misc things (there's maybe a half dozen but I'll just mention one more). The TPMS does not tell you which tire needs air. You have to check them all. (I've seen other cars ex. Nissan Rogue that specify which tire needs air.) Be aware: no spare...but I reluctantly knew that going in. All in all good cars but I would be hesitant to say great cars.

      I agree about not having the spare. But who stores items with the spare? There’s like no extra room there. I was able to fit a full drum set in the back cargo without putting any seats down. Obviously, the drum set was broken down. But that is pretty good for a small SUV.

    • @emilygerow5034
      @emilygerow5034 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree it would be better to have which tire needs air indicated. But I think it’s interesting who people would find these small details to be deal breakers. I’d much rather focus on the engine, handling, safety, and reliability. Those bells and whistles are nice, but these are cars. Remember when we had to manually unlock doors and roll down windows? I’m happy to focus on the big picture.
