We have a 5 month old and a 3 year old, husband and I are 29 🥰 I would say focus on making your 3 year old as independent in your home as possible. We keep her snacks down low where she can reach them, she can open the fridge and get yogurt tubes, she can get out of bed any time at night and get a sip of water or use the potty. We had lots of talks about how little brother can only have breastmilk from mommy so he needs me often, but I am always here to talk and be with big sister. And put lots of stuff on the calendar that is big sis focused but little brother can come along in the baby carrier or stroller. Play dates, park, museum, even sleepovers with the grandparents that are just for her. And OF COURSE, the coming home present "from little brother" was a huge hit. 😂❤

My husband & I are 37 & 34. We have a newly 1 year old & a 3.5 year old. Amazing age gap! Never blame the baby to not be able to do something for the toddler. “I’ll get a snack in 5 minutes” vs “I need to feed the baby first and then I’ll get you a snack”
Do individual little dates with the toddler!! Spend that time with the toddler. Never force the toddler to hold the baby, etc. honestly our toddler & 1 year old are best of friends, they play together a lot! You’ll love it!! Congrats again!

I sell a lot of paint at Walmart, I’ve been with the company for 20 years. We have regular and name brand paint. I sell more of the off brand paint, than I do name brand paint. I personally think it’s a matter of preference, if you have the right person mixing the paint.
The color you’re covering determines if you need a paint with primer or not. If you’re covering a light color with a darker color, it shouldn’t matter. I will say that if you’re a perfectionist, I would kilts the walls and then it doesn’t matter what brand you go with as long as, the color is right. When I mix paint, I put a dot on top of the can and a dot on the color sample to make sure it matches. It’s only off due to if the sample card is in glossy and you are getting satin, egg shell or flat. I also live in a small town. I hope this helps.

We've been doing a lot of home improvements this year, too, and have hired out the stuff that requires licensed contractors. I don't even want to share what we spent. We saved up and could afford it but it's still shocking and we are not finished yet. I keep a separate itemized spreadsheet to keep it all straight.

Better paint is worth it, but expensive. But it will go on easier, smoother, and last longer. I’m partial to Benjamin Moore

I LOVE Christmas cards! My husband and I do them every year and we don't even have kids. After ordering the card (we usually do a Shutterfly card with a photo) plus stamps it usually costs us around $200. We also print off a little paragraph with what has been going on during the year and include it in the card. We keep a card from each year and put them in a little photograph binder along with our little paragraph so we can look back at all of our past Christmases together and read our recap of what happened that year. Merry Christmas and good luck with the new baby ❤

I can’t remember how old your daughter is but the double stroller was a God send. Also just trying to stick with a routine as much as possible helped me feel like I had a taste of control lol it’s is def a lot harder with multiple kids but I made it through! 😊

Newborn advice (We had a 4-year-old and a newborn)
    1) Let the older help as often as possible to the best of their capabilities. "Can you hold this diaper until I need it? Would you like to help me give baby a bath?"
    2) Set them up to be independent with snacks and life, BUT when you have the time/energy, engage with them in the activity. "Can you make me a snack too? I'd love to eat lunch with you today. Could you put your plate into the dishwasher for me?"
    3) Pick 3 top routine items that are non negotiable to do with your older. My 4 yr old and I ALWAYS brushed our teeth together every night. Once baby came I made it a point to continue this routine to help him see we were ADDING TO our family NOT TAKING AWAY from him.
    4) To the best of your ability, do not set expectations. For yourself or your partner. Take each moment at face value understanding that (typically) everyone is doing the best they can.

**Our kids are now 17 & 13. They are best friends and will tell anyone that they have always been.** Siblings can be amazing.

As a Target employee who gets a nice discount, I shop at Target a lot and for everything. I have a category just called “Target shopping” that can contain anything from food, household, fun, etc. But to compensate for this my specific food and shopping budgets are probs waaay smaller than what the average persons is because most of my stuff will fall into the “Target shopping” budget/category.

Just had my second baby, honestly the newborn stage has been SO much easier this time. The lack of sleep is definitely not as jarring as it was the first time around. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

My advice is pray for a good temperament baby and put the kids on the same schedule (eventually of course). Is Quinn is daycare full time? If so, that helped a ton!

40 weeks is actually 9.3 months as each months has 4 weeks plus 2-3 days :) Im also 23 weeks with my second and the calculations took a while to wrap my brain around as well😊 looking for those recommendations as well on newborn phase with a 4 yr old at home.

$220 on Christmas cards … bruh. We have never done that thing where you print off cards with family photos on them and send them out to everyone (we do have a child). Or even send generic Christmas cards. We spend probably nothing on Christmas cards tbh. Though we do spend a fortune on presents 😂

Which car insurance do you have?? I need to reevaluate ours. It’s insane that they keep raising it even though we’ve never had any accidents.

@ thank you!! Also. Mama of 3 (7, 5 and 2). My biggest tip is to try and prep food to make sure YOURE fed & hydrated. And not just eating from toddler leftovers. A non-hangry mama is a happy(er) mama. Congratulations!!!

Definitely hard to do it right. And handyman definitely don’t do it right either. So you either practice it yourself or shell out $$$$$$ to a dry waller/mudder professional. Texturing only covered so much of the imperfections. Also getting popcorn ceiling removed before my move in was $thousands for a 1k sq foot house.

Take 30 minutes each day for yourself. Even if it’s to take a walk, a shower or watch your favorite show. You’ll need a break.
