Stefan, are the ports (plugged) on each leg of the header for ECT sensors? I know you said you're off turbos for a while, but I see FM has announced an NC turbo kit... Was wondering if it is now possible for a 2.5 turbo swap...
Hey! Nice swap out there! I wonder what you did to your front lights. They look quiet different and nice than the originals. Did you paint the inside of them?
i’m not to clued up on the 2.5 litre motors. are all the 2.5 motors for miatas ford fusion motors or are they other stuff. can someone explain it to me please😂😂
beautiful new engine. I prefer the 2.0 personally. RPM :) The bone stock 2.0l is good for 8k RPM redline. It's only when you add cams is when you'd need to upgrade the valve springs to handle higher revs. But stock head and block is good for 8k rpm track use :)
I have a 2002 focus spi motor,.. how hard would it be to swap it to a dohc motor... the spi doesn't have any upgrades that I know of other than a turbo kit.
Do you have a video on the aluminum valve cover that you offer? Showing off the mods you do to them? Considering buying one prior to installing a turbo kit.
Hey buddy, thanks for this video, I am in Australia and I am thinking about doing the 2.5 swap on my NC, but I am struggling a bit finding that duratec engine, I think there are some Mazda 6 that have this one but do you know how can I distinguish them? is there any marks or something?
Thank you for documenting this! Looking forward to more NC content, especially that 2.4L build! Exactly what I want to do.
Gotta get you to do more content on yours too!
@@NappMotorsports it’s coming… Nothing as big as an engine swap just yet but finally getting some power mods.
Excellent. I want a whole video on the ITBs, tuning them, dialing them in, etc
You’ll get one!
Should’ve put a 1.6 in it for real power options
I need to step towards the power level of a 1.6, so baby steps with the 2.5
Not everyone is capable of handle that level of raw power.
Really good video. Excited to see your NC content.
Thanks Mark. This is all your fault anyway lol
@@NappMotorsports You’re welcome. I’d love a ride when you get it going.
I’ll be doing this as soon as I get an engine just picked up my NC this past weekend
Cant wait to hear it 😮
Me either. Having built the exhaust already, I’m afraid of how loud it’ll be.
Looking forward to seeing this again on the dragon! Already know it rides amazing!
Need to finish it lol
Bruh! Haha. Love it. That is a great swap. Can't wait to see what ya put down and how fat the torque curve will be.
I don't expect to be shocked by a high number haha. I just want it to be responsive.
@@NappMotorsports that's fair.
Looking forward to that de-stroked 2.4. I've been wondering if it would be a good budget option to a k24 swap.
I’m hoping so haha

Yeah I put plugs in the ports for the time being.
Keep up the good
Thanks!
Hey! Nice swap out there! I wonder what you did to your front lights. They look quiet different and nice than the originals. Did you paint the inside of them?
They’re custom units that I had made by Circuit Demon
@@NappMotorsports Thank you for the reply. That may be a nice content if you could do a video about that!
I liked the video. Tired of turbos?
I love turbos, and I'll boost one again one day, I just don't really want a super fast miata again.

The 2.5s come in all kinds of Fords and Mazdas from this era.
They came in Mazdas as well, they’re just more expensive if you get one from a Mazda for whatever reason?
Its an ac compressor and the wire is the clutch power to activate the compressor.
👌

that's not how this works
Final answer is a 2.5 destroked to a 2.4. More power and higher rev ceiling.
Are those the regular Jenvey NC Miata ITBs or are they specifically for the 2.5?
cool video !
Thanks!

No idea

I don’t currently, but feel free to email me with any questions you may have and I’m happy to answer them. Nappmotorsports @ gmail
This is how I pulled the engine out of the NA every single time. lol. Could have the whole thing out in
I've never tried it on the NA's. I do want to try to drop the entire subframe/ppf combo one day.
What is the biggest reasonable swap that there is?
You’re looking at it

I don't know the distinguishing markings, sorry.
Pontiac solstice LS Swap next!
Negative
Quick question, fitted a custom axle back muffler last week and swear it’s lost some go.. especially lower down, how’s this poss?
Doesn’t really sound right. Axle back should have no effect.
@@NappMotorsports maybe placebo.. odd tho
Unless I missed it, why no cams?
Has Brian Crower Stage 2.5's.
Nice quonset hut.
lol it’s an old hay barn
did you just say you'd lift the car with an engine hoist? Did you mean to say that?
You can lift the nose of the car from the cross member with an engine hoist to get the engine out of the bottom.
