I think I am going to stick to the kit supplied LED lights, not sure if I will add any extras.

Thanks bud, seems they should be making their way everywhere, maybe put a call in to your local shops to see if they can snag one.

I bought this a year ago,... a bit longer even.
The amount and quality of detail on this kit practically demands the bulder to learn airbrushing if they don't already, or else you will lose a lot of that detail.
So I set out to do just that, and of course I wasn't about to go "practice on this kit.
One year (and a bit) of buying practice kits later I am fully immersed into the model kit hobby again, I built more Star Wars kits, ranging from the "under 10 bucks Level 3" kits to the Bandai Y-Wing, AT-AT, AT-ST and X-Wing, than I did over the course of my life before.
I spent days, weeks on TH-cam watching tutorials, build and paint videos on the PGMF, collected folders and folders of reference pictures,... I should be ready for this... so I plan on starting on it soon, still with some trepidation tbh.
On my jourmey of preperation I came into the knowledge that Bandai kits do not respond well to many kinds of solvents, like White Spirit. I experienced it first hand on the AT-ST too, luckily nothing too dramatic but the plastic can crumble under your finger at the slightest pressure when having come in contact with solvents.
Thanks to Modelmaking Guru's video series on this kit, I know the procedure to minimize those risks. Water based primerand gloss coating the hell out of it before applying any kind of filter/was/oil weathering.
I am fully prepared to be spending a good part of this year on this model, this won't be a "two week" build I think.... ;)
I am planningon keeping an eye on your channel, hoping to see some build videos on this one.

I learned the hard way a couple years back about not applying harsh treatments to Bandai plastic after putting some panel liner on a Gundam without first sealing it with clear. This will get painted in my normal fashion of Tamiya XF-69 as a primer and then well sealed before any decals or weathering. Good luck with your build I am sure it will be fantastic.

This kit looks insane! The detail and quality is astounding. Check out Mask Design for a good set of masks for painting it.
