Street performers are amazing. I’m originally from New Orleans and there are a ton of street preformerà from musicians of all types, singers and other street performers... it’s amazing to watch in the touristy area of New Orleans.
I learned to play spoons decades ago by my grandpa. But never continued it. But I have sung with tons of local performers. Street and big names.

I just ab-so-toota-lutely adore you. You have lived the kinda life I feel I was born to live. I only traveled with a bike gang and slept in my car for quite a few years but those were the best years ever.
You are much more than a percussionist.
We are much more than the job we do.
I'm a luthier, I love my job so much, but I know I'm more than that, and I am using the same patient and care on details that I apply to my job, to build a better version of myself.
I used to think that I would like to leave to the world the best musical instrument. I know now that that thought was incomplete.
The world need more loving and empathetic people, that should be the main target.
I'm working on it, and you are a good guide for my in that process

I come from a family of gypsies(travelers) and very proud to be. You remind me of my kinfolk, my grandmother would sing mountain songs to me when I was a kid. I love folk music and anything mountain. My favorite song she would sing up until a stroke took her from this earth was.... I wish I was a single girl again. Merry Christmas lady, you rock~

I will never be a musician, something in me sounds bad, but I am fascinated by the variety of techniques and styles of spoons players (of wood, steel, plastic or even ceramic), all over the world. I’ve never heard anyone else say “root hog or die.” My grandmother would say it after
we had enjoyed a big family meal, meaning leftovers or else. Glad to hear you say “percussionist”. Just watched the Run Rabbit performance in Nash and that was the thought I had, “she’s a percussionist”. Sorry that Nashville turned as I am a Tennessean and remember how different it was, but very happy to hear that Asheville became a good spot. As a teenager I wanted to jump a train, never did. So you travelled to find yourself and discovered you are a musician, performer and activist? 🙂
