Sitting here drinking my coffee watching a build. It does matter!! I usually watch these at night, imbibing in some bourbon!! ThInk I'll not watch these In the morning anymore, LOL!😂
I for one absolutely love watching any video you put on Kyle, it’s far more entertaining then any tv programme, you and Gregg have such a great work ethic, attitude and talent. Although I’m not the biggest fan of timber construction it’s very satisfying to watch great people doing what they do best, and your work screams quality. 👍🏻
as a diy guy. i love seeing everything. there was something in every aspect of this video that i will use in various projects in either my renovations or my new home build. So thank you!!!!
Yes Kyle, Each stage is like watching a series on the TV, If you miss 1 part, and go onto the next part, and we see it in the background a part you didnt film it might be upsetting, so Yes!! treat this as a series with many episodes, If you miss one you get upset!!. Seeing you & Greggs banter makes me miss the time when I was working on a building site before I retired. Thanks for the video.
Also, those little details are what make or break the job. Seeing and hearing a pro solve those details on the fly definitely helps DIYers and beginning tradesmen get it right the first time. Seeing mistakes made and corrected is also really valuable. I’m remembering your ceiling insulation mess earlier in this project. You learned something and, for sure, viewers learned where not to cut a corner. I’m glad you left that in the series.
As a carpenter nearing retirement, and getting ready to build the retirement home, it is great to see the new products and building techniques that make homes safer, stronger, and more comfortable. Keep the content rolling!
absolutely love these kinds of videos. Please do more. Not all of us will be roofing a valley with metal roofing. LOL Great stuff. If I were to ever move to your area you are the only builder I would let build my house.
... OG + RR. The cross-over we never knew we wanted, but now we know we needed it all along. That's awesome, because I think both you/your team and Matt/his team really care and actually put in an effort on what you're working on to make it right and not just get it done as fast as possible to make a quick buck and move on to the next project. I'm a little salty after our house build we just moved into... Without firsthand experience, it's impossible to know if any builder in one's local area will have the care and attention to detail to, you know, keep your water pipes from freezing up when you're not going to be able to heat your shop the first winter you're in the house... /rant Anyway, looking forward to this cross-over.
Firstly, I am no carpenter/finish guy, not on any level. I bought a 41YO house in 2023. It was still only 90% finished. 1 1/2 years later, It's about 95%. It's the litte stuff that takes time. Time to identify, time to complete. I gotta learn as I go. But my family likes what I have done. This channel helps me out, greatly. 👍 I still need to trim exterior windows... they were never trimmed out, lol.
This building must be on the verge of breaking a world record for R-value! I don't think I've ever seen an interior wall with R30+ (if I did the math right). I'm not criticizing at all, I love it! I do things overkill as well. Keep it up, guys!
If you put the mini split Ac over or near the stairwell. The cold air will end up down the stairwell. As cold air drops ,hot air rises . besides mini splits are nice . But the are in my opinion high maintenance . And yes I have five in my house. The filters on mini splits leave a lot to be desired . And cleaning the units requires a pressure wash of sorts . And while your building >Will most likely be more dust free than my house. >The unit will still need to be serviced . Love your videos by the way. Been watching you for several years now .
I am not a builder. I helped build NY family home in the 1960s. Boy have things changed! Not sawing by hand or using a screwdriver. I love seeing the tools and techniques used and I love the mental effort required to find the best approach.
Kyle, my concrete is done, my sturdiwall brackets are installed and my trusses are coming tomorrow morning for a simple post frame that I will live in for the foreseeable future. I'm building this way because you showed me the benefits of the framing style and opened my eyes to modern building science. I have been thinking about this building for years and your videos have influenced every design aspect, so please share any/all details because while I don't DO anything "because" you said... I THINK about things "because" you said it and that's worth hearing.
I like these kinds of videos along with the others you put out. It shows the parts of the process that most people skip over. Yes I know how to do it but you can always learn different ways of doing things.
I’ve always liked watching construction being done. The banter between you and Greg is priceless. It looks like you have a need to overbuild and think that’s great. Had a run in with a builder that was a custom home for us. Built a 3000 sq. ft. two story cape code house but liked to go by daily to check on progress. Since this was a custom build I wanted to have it done well so when the contractor let me know his was building it to code. I let him know that just building to code was not what I expected or wanted .
Quick Tip for temporary attachment of your wafer lights, you can use cardboard stapled to rafters or joist with a hole cut for the light as a surface or even strips just to hold the flip clips on the sides until you actually finish the surface. Suggestion based on the light hanging in the stairway at 5:01 time stamp as well as in the RR RecRoom.
Long time viewer here. Enjoy the content greatly. Knowing that rockwool can be compressed and retain R value will make me reevaluate other areas that might benefit from it's use. Love learning new methods and technics. See you on the next video Kyle.
I like the vids like this, just 2 guys messing around in the shop, getting the details done. I'm not sure what makes it satisfying to watch, but it is.
Please keep the videos coming. There is always something someone will need to know/learn. I enjoy watching your content. It’s always a great day when RR post a video ❤
Hey Kyle, I’m 26years old from sweden, and love watching your videos! And how you build and explain the way you build things in the US! Especially full projects where you make the interior and stuff! Its inspires me to renovate my own Home in similar american spirit, which is a farm me and my partner inherited from my father. Keep up the content! Great work!
Show all that you can and let people see start to finish. Watching any video you do is educational and just fun to watch. Your shop is looking great and shows the excellent work you and Greg and others have performed to complete every step of construction. I doubt you could put out a boring video. Sometime you should show your video person and let them explain their great work to everyone.
Love the videos I worked on a framing crew years ago and enjoyed the guys as much as the work we had fun and worked hard. I see that in you two. Keep up the good work. Plus I'm learning new tricks
was watching along here and just realized your at over 1.75 mill subscribers doesn't seem like that long ago when you broke the mill mark. Congratulations. that's impressive and awesome
Kyle and Greg Show always enjoy the tomfoolery and japes. Being from Australia we don't see insulation to this level. I guess that's the difference between your bespoke building style and the mass production of person dwellings.
It occurs to me a built in Hide-a-Hose vacuum system would be very handy for keeping the shop clean. You have room in the mechanical room and you still have time to put in hose runs to connection boxes.
These are the fun bits that will never be seen again once you put up the finishes/drywall. It's all good content, and will remind you of all those last 10% things you did to dial it in.
I watch every single video because ive learned things that i would have never tried before. Except when i see you two just make it happen it gives me the confidence to do the things ive done
Best part of my day is getting to see the build of any of your projects. I grew up with stick builds in the fifties through the seventies. A lot has changed since then.
Talk about the last jobs, we stayed out house in 1977. Put in a temporary staircase, ( plywood and 2X10 treads) I just hired a guy to build me oak staircase with a railing, he hopes to start in next month! ( my hubby kept promising he would build it, he didn’t, he could but didn’t)
The small finish work on a project ain't always technical but it's a massive part of the process to reach a good end result. Keep doing these types of videos! And as we usually get to enjoy Abit more of the banter and shittalk that's one of the reasons we all love working in construction and watching you to go at it Keep up the good work
I just really like seeing every part of the project bringing it that much closer to being finished…can’t wait to see RR HQ2.0 final tour! Love all your content!
Good vid Kyle. All of your content is useful. Adding the insulation to the girder wall will provide a lot of sound buffer from all the shop noise. Thanks for the vid!
I work in a call center in Québec and I love doing construction and renovation. I watch your channel between calls, and I learn a lot of things. I think it's cool that you're perfectionists.
Wow we learn something today never knew that the Rockwell would be like a sound definer so it holds sound in and hold sound out pretty cool can't wait to see the next video this is just our opinion
Another excellent video……its part of every job. It has to get done. And like you said….there might be something that someone might find useful. Thanks guys !
Have you seen some of the other channels where if you do not pay for them you cannot watch them so you miss certain steps it's the greed The greed of money that you must pay to watch your video we've never even knew this was happening but we really enjoy these videos from Kyle and how he keeps up on just about everyone of the steps we really enjoy the videos this is just our opinion
I had some squeaky and spongy spots in my house's 2x12 floor joint system. I originally put in the X style bracing but several had been removed due to mechanical systems. I cut 2x6 blocks and set them on edge up in the bays and screwed in through the sides of the joints. No more speaks and bounce. You could have set your blocks on edge too and offset in zigzag pattern for easy nailing.
I did a job one time where I doubled up the I joist and ripped down some 3/4 CDX and glued then on the inside of each side and then glued them together with screws as well. I also staggered the 3/4 CDX joints.
I really like that insulation for a post frame. I'll be building my post frame the same way except for the roof. I'll be making some type of timber frame look for the ceiling because I like vaulted ceilings. I'll probably make them out of glue lambs with CNC cut metal brackets to hold them together for the wide span that I want and then covering the roof with SIP's for that R value. I'm not a fan of blown in insulation. Other than that, I love what your doing. I do however like the living space to be on a raised foundation and not on a slab on grade.
Sitting here drinking my coffee watching a build. Doesn’t matter. You keep making the video, I’ll keep watching. Thanks for posting 👍🏻
Sitting here drinking my coffee watching a build. It does matter!! I usually watch these at night, imbibing in some bourbon!! ThInk I'll not watch these In the morning anymore, LOL!😂
God bless you, Sir.
Post it all Kyle. There is something in everything that will help someone. I enjoyed it just because I have a passion for construction. Thanks.
I am beyond invested in watching this project. Arguably better than any streaming service and I will watch any video that shows the progress. Thx!
I for one absolutely love watching any video you put on Kyle, it’s far more entertaining then any tv programme, you and Gregg have such a great work ethic, attitude and talent. Some of your best content is in the little details. My wife and I watch every build, start to finish.
Thanks for the video.
i love these kinds of videos. those little tedious tasks are a big part of any job. plus you guys make me laugh. keep posting!
As always watching two professionals work on different projects all the time.
As a carpenter nearing retirement, and getting ready to build the retirement home, it is great to see the new products and building techniques that make homes safer, stronger, and more comfortable. Keep the content rolling!

Anyway, looking forward to this cross-over.
"Joist bracing." I learned it as "bridging". Another great video!
Firstly, I am no carpenter/finish guy, not on any level. I bought a 41YO house in 2023. It was still only 90% finished. 1 1/2 years later, It's about 95%.

Looks amazing as always. You should put in a wood stove. Can throw in a few logs while working at your desk or chill on the couch watching TV.
Absolutely film all the little things! We enjoy watching all of it
I enjoy the content regardless if it's useful or not. I just like watching stuff get built.
love the videos even the finish up vids that catch the little things many could forget or miss, keep them coming I'll keep watching
I had my own building company in the UK and like seeing the whole process from foundation to final finishes
Love the, listen Linda! 😂 We use that line all the time. I’ve even taught it to my employees and we use it when we get in passionate conversations.
I like these kinds of videos along with the others you put out. It shows the parts of the process that most people skip over. Yes I know how to do it but you can always learn different ways of doing things.
Always film, I am sure there are people like me who are preparing to build their dream-final house and seeing the little things help.

I’m always looking forward to every video you post so keep them coming! The bromance is real
All steps are a learning experience and entertaining.
Kyle, for those comfort Rockwool batts, rob the orange plastic caps off plastic cap nails and put them on an appropriate sized drywall screws.
Those duct hole cutters are awesome. I use it all the time as a HVAC technician
Your videos are educational and entertaining regardless of the job that day.
I enjoy whatever you guys are working on. I feel like I learn something new every time.
Please keep the videos coming. There is always something someone will need to know/learn. I enjoy watching your content. It’s always a great day when RR post a video ❤
I’m a builder and i enjoy watching your videos!! I enjoy your guys banter its fun to watch keep up the good work you too

Keep them coming, a lot of times the best tips are the non-verbal and least highlighted. 👍🏼
I love watching every building video. Please keep them coming.
Love the videos
I worked on a framing crew years ago and enjoyed the guys as much as the work we had fun and worked hard. I see that in you two. Keep up the good work. Plus I'm learning new tricks
Cant wait to see the collab with Obsessed Garage. i watched them for a while separately and always enjoy the content they put out.

It occurs to me a built in Hide-a-Hose vacuum system would be very handy for keeping the shop clean. You have room in the mechanical room and you still have time to put in hose runs to connection boxes.
You know we all love any video you put out, as always, keep them coming bud!!
I enjoyed this video. I am an engineer. I am not a structural engineer. I get the logic when you explain stuff. I watch all of your videos. Thanks.
I love the content doesn’t always have to be technical. I like watching things progress so this is fun to watch.

A little of both is a good balance. This one had the feel of a vacation. Nice easy going. 👍 either way it’s motivating and educational 😊
I just really like seeing every part of the project bringing it that much closer to being finished…can’t wait to see RR HQ2.0 final tour! Love all your content!
I appreciate the videos as a finish carpenter I enjoy all aspects of building ! Keep’em coming !
Good vid Kyle. All of your content is useful. Adding the insulation to the girder wall will provide a lot of sound buffer from all the shop noise. Thanks for the vid!
Yes, worth every second. appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge
Grate video lads . nice to see you do all the smaller jobs.more please
Love seeing how things are built or put together. Waiting for it all is finished. Have a great day
I work in a call center in Québec and I love doing construction and renovation. I watch your channel between calls, and I learn a lot of things. I think it's cool that you're perfectionists.
I just enjoy all off your video's Kyle. Thanks for filming. 😁👍🏼😁👍🏼
We love your content and you guys are great! The variety of videos is terrific!
It's good to see progress on your build and the banter between you and Greg... so yes for me keep up with the videos like this .
Wow we learn something today never knew that the Rockwell would be like a sound definer so it holds sound in and hold sound out pretty cool can't wait to see the next video this is just our opinion
Love all content, even these type videos. Keep up the great work Kyle and Greg 😊
Another excellent video……its part of every job. It has to get done. And like you said….there might be something that someone might find useful. Thanks guys !
Even if it just answers curiosity, always learn something from your videos. Thank you.
Yes Kyle please keep making the random videos. My two year old love construction videos, and he comes running as soon as he hears Mr. Kyles voice.
Better to put content on here than to leave the screen blank. Those who want to watch can and those who dont can skip it. Thanks for sharing this!
Can't wait for the OG collab as a long time viewer of both channels!
Although it wasn’t too technical, like you said, it’s got good tips and insight… it shows more detail of your overall build.
I love watching content like this the comradery between you and Greg is great keep it coming
I love watching your content, even the simplest mundane stuff.
All the small parts of the construction make for the complete project. Keep it coming.
The video was great! What do you mean it wasn't the most insane awesome video? Dude, we come here cause everything you do is pretty interesting.
Every little bit is very useful and informative.
I enjoy watching your content you do things differently than some people would do, but it’s interesting
I love everything you do on the video. I always learn something!
Hai Kyle and Greg. Show it all. We love your channel for years now. Greatings from the Netherlands. Louk ( you say Look ) . 😂
I did a job one time where I doubled up the I joist and ripped down some 3/4 CDX and glued then on the inside of each side and then glued them together with screws as well. I also staggered the 3/4 CDX joints.
Love watching your vids Kyle. Southern Ohio here!
Attention to detail is impressive-much to learn here
I always love the content, Kyle. Film everything man!
Kyle you and Greg are having way to much fun 😁
safety squint and top of ladder, you rock bro. Love your videos and the way you are such a perfectionist, Hi to Greg he is a very hard worker.
I loved it.. you were right to film this kind of stuff ......great
It’s winter and a lot of trades are laid off. So longer content & esp with the personal headquarters build. Dig your action
I really like that insulation for a post frame. I'll be building my post frame the same way except for the roof. I'll be making some type of timber frame look for the ceiling because I like vaulted ceilings. Keep em coming ✌🏼DIY’s like me find this basics valuable
It’s good content. I always learn something from every video. Nice work.
Keep releasing these!! So awesome to see every step!
I watch any video with RRHQ on it, I've been here since the beginning
Let’s go!! Thank you brother
I was just commenting last night about CHICK FLICKS.. This is the DUDES FLICK channel! Little issues but it all turns out well in the end!!! :)
