Fishing Planet - How to catch Unique Brown Trout at Saint-Croix Lake, Michigan.

  • I am after Unique Brown Trout at Saint Croix Lake, Michigan. I can catch it fairly easy using two different setups. Bottom and lure fishing work well and there are plenty of fish too. For lure fishing I personally prefer heavier spoon with bigger hook. It sinks faster, doesn’t lift up too much when doing “stop & go” and I can cast 60 meters out. But the bottom fishing is way better for this fish. Generally, I get bigger fish and I can use multiple rods too. The downside with bottom fishing is the bait cost.

    Got mine on partial cloudy at 15:30 with the spoon

    caught mine on the yellow tiger spoon 42gr #4/0 hook near the boat on the left.

    It seems that it does work but you will get only one unique a day. A lot of bass are biting also …

    I wonder if shiners would work. That bait is way to expensive for relative small fish like that.
