    Rob - care to comment on if you ever drop your 300 on your mono to move to the end zone with that 70-200, or you take it with you?

      Sometimes if I need to move quick, like for a penalty or something maybe then yes I sometimes do

    Great video...as always. Hey Rob...have you done a video on your computer workflow at the stadium, as far as loading cards and using whichever software you do to cull and upload...ie photo mechanic, etc... If not would love to see your workflow on field...as I've been trying different methods recently. Cheers!

      Thanks Ron, yes have a browse through my vids there's stuff in there. I'll do an updated one soon though.

    Have you ever shot some football tethered to the laptop.... Not sure this is practical though, also when you insert a card into your reader does that make the camera you removed it from redundant until you re insert it...? Or do you use multiple cards as you shoot....? Sorry that's a few questions together Rob, by the way got some great shots from behind the goal yesterday of one of our players converting a penalty using my remote like you suggested.

      @RobSambles  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't yet, mainly because I developed my workflow whilst using only 7ds. It's easier on the 1dx. I use multiple cards yes but that said the ingest into photomechanic is so quick the card is probably only out of the camera for 20 seconds max.

    • @RobSambles

      Great job with the remote!

      @@RobSambles Hi, Just saw this video . If i'm in a fixed position i like to use the ethernet cable from camera to laptop. Start a live ingest in photomechanic and just send off the ones I like . Then a quick edit in camera raw and then send off via photomechanic in ftp or dropbox etc . should work with you 1dx too . I use a nikon d4 and it works beautiful . cheers!

    Hi Rob, Do you recommend getting a 300,400 or 600 mm for Football? Can you get a lot of action with your 300mm from one end of the pitch to the other?

    • @RobSambles
      @RobSambles  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a 300mm. 400 is decent, 600 probably too long. My 300 gets me what I need at the other end with a bit of cropping no problem

    Rob, Great video. I am about to make the jump from desktop editing to laptop for Sports. Any ideas would be appreciated. Also, do you have an opinion on the new PocketWizard firmware upgrade?

    • @RobSambles
      @RobSambles  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only advice on laptops is just to make sure you get something fast enough to run Lightroom etc. I haven't actually got on to upgrading the firmware on my pocket wizards just yet to be honest.

    Hi Rob, Have you ever used a WiFi sd card to transfer you images direct to the laptop without the need to take your card out of the camera? Thoughts on this option.

    • @RobSambles
      @RobSambles  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly no I've never tried it - you could I suppose. It would depend on reliability of the signal

    Nice video Rob, my question...I take photos for the u10 rugby team my son plays for, I typically shoot around 700 photos for a game. Selection and editing usually takes me around two hours on LR, any tips to speed up my workflow? ( Don't say take less photos 😂)

    • @RobSambles
      @RobSambles  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take less photos 😎

    • @RobSambles
      @RobSambles  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jokes aside I would say consider developing some presets for LR and start by going through them all beginning to and tagging the images you like first (a colour or a star rating etc). Video on this soon.

      Matthew Walters 1. Get Photo Mechanic to cull photos. 2. Make your first shot “THE” shot, then take a few more. Also, who are you shooting for? Yourself, the parents?

      @@RobSambles Try a camp stool or 3-legged trail/travel stool. About the same height as the plastic one, but a bit more comfortable.
