Your commentaries presents one with such mind provoking and challenging insights that it takes a minute to absorb it all. I for one find myself having to watch more than one time so that I can make sure I understand the concepts. But that's a good thing since for too many years we have not had this kind of teaching -overall -to help us go beyond the everyday understanding.

All sin but we must be thankful for the mercy and sacrifice of Gods son.

Most people would quote the verse so their sins will not be called out. Sins that they keep doing without repentance. But the verse is very clear, Jesus did NOT condemn the woman but HE told her, GO AND SIN NO MORE. There will be no condemnation after forgiveness and total repentance from sin/ turning away from sins back to GOD.
We should always remind ( NOT JUDGE) each other of the dangers of sin, tell people of GOD'S forgiveness if we are ready to repent and submit to HIM. If we don't and keep doing sins, GOD has set judgement in HIS time.

What was written in the dust of the temple floor? Something to remind them if an old story - something that would stop the men dead in their tracks, and leave the Pharisees on their own with zero crowd support."
A warning to them….. not to take the same violent action as Jacobs sons.
He may have wrote something to remind them of that story but certainly something to point to their own adultery towards God and man or perhaps something to point to the possible fact they raped her … but certainly it was not the law this woman supposedly broke that they cared about … it was a ploy to trap Jesus by using the woman

Jesus could neither read or write, like the great majority of people in that time. He was a carpenter, which actually means “day laborer” in a land with very little wood. Like a construction worker. If he was “writing” on the ground, he was probably drawing pictures.

      Luke 4 : 16-30
He literally reads from the scrolls of Isaiah in the synagogue. So he most definitely could read.

@@jacobwalz7544 Maybe. But Luke 4 is based on a story in Mark where Jesus is not said to read. It was written 25 to 60 years after Jesus' crucification by an author, maybe Luke, who never met Jesus.

Multiple times throughout the New Testament Jesus is cited as quoting the scripture. For example “it is written that man should not live by bread alone but every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Another example would be when he’s teaching about divorce. He talks about Moses law and what is written about divorce. It’s not concrete evidence that he can read just that he knew the law. But if one understands what’s written down in the scrolls that well, id wager that he could read. What it boils down to is. Is the Bible just a collection of stories written down by men that are not actually true? Or is the Bible an inspired text written by men who were guided by God himself through his spirit? If the latter is true then every word in the text is true. If Jesus was who he said he was and came back to life after 3 days of being dead. Then I’d say he’s the most important person who’s ever lived or ever will. “As for me and my house, we will serve the lord”

@@jacobwalz7544There is nothing wrong with believing in something so good. More power to you. I’ll find out for sure, or I won’t, when I get there. Until then, I’ll try my best to be selfless and follow the Golden Rule. Peace to you.
