For my none Shona speaking friends: I will try to summarize. In this part 2 Brian is describing how he murdered his second victim. They do not explain how he got hold of a policeman uniform but this is what he wore to lure or trick his second victim. Unfortunately, the second victim was too trusting to a stranger who promised him work in Johannesburg that obviously was not there. He got him to even say farewell to his own family before they left for the murderers hometown where again in the dark night he murdered him by punching him strongly under the chin and then finishing him off but cutting off his body parts... with the same people he had in the first part. The victim's family say theu were notified of his murder about 3 months after he was already dead.. that is where the story ends...** this is obviously a summary but basically thats what transpired...,
Just to add some additional context for non Zimbabweans... It's not at all uncommon for people to jump at an opportunity to go to South Africa for work. This happens just about all the time given the current conditions in the country. The victim's family say here that people that end up going there could end up being dumped there and/or end up doing crime, which is true a lot of the time. Unfortunately for the victim, just the prospect of leaving led to his untimely and gruesome demise.
Can you release part 2 again with subtitles. Some of us like the story but don't understand the language. I came here for part 2 after seeing part 1 but was disappointed that there are no subtitles.
Heartbreaking story. Why the masterminds behind these murders aren't convicted too tells the story behind our failing criminal justice system. The incriminating evidence was so much that it was easy to also get those behind it. At law they deserve longer sentences than this guy because judging by the facts of the case they could have carried out these murders even if this guy (Brian) had refused to do it. Great documentary though!!
true the production can't be faulted and the criminal's storytelling and recollection of events is sound but is that the main thing we can see in this heart wrenching story. Have we become so insensitive that we applaud the aesthetics and miss the harrowing details.
