If you remember, animals always were drawn to Fern like she is some sort of Disney princess. It's likely because she naturally hides her mana all the time. My guess it's that's why her team was able to catch the bird so easy.
Fern controls her mana so well that even Frieren can't detect it back in Ep 2(?). She probably hides her mana like Frieren did to catch the bird. Because she's better at controlling her mana maybe she can move without leaking any mana and manage to get close to the bird to catch it.
i really love the fact how diverse actually the staffs can be in this universe! like, Wirbels staff isnt even technically a "staff" but more like a sceptre (actually it reminds me a lot of the magical girl wands but pointy xD)
I had my apprehension when I heard there was going to be exams and it just reminded me a lot of other shows doing it, but this arc was quite surprising. Maybe because were not dealing with students but people that already know what they're doing. Denkkin is da shit.
I think it’s also because of the new characters introduced are pretty cool, this show respects it’s characters, it doesn’t treat them like they are just there to make the main characters shine
for the first few episodes i was definetly put off by the "slower" pace it got by not passing time as quickly but once adjusted it was just as amazing as Frieren has been throughout.
I love Wirbel, in any other anime, he could be the protagonist. But in Frieren, hes like a tertiary character. It just goes to show how interesting every character in this show is.

Just gonna warn you now: the blonde glasses guy on Fern's team is called Land, and he is objectively the mage with the absolute coolest (and funniest) magic specialty in this entire exam. Forget Denken or Wirbel or even Fern. None of them can ever match the sheer chadness that Land will show during this season's finale.
Here a small funfact: Ehre is the Granddaughter of Lernen, the very first Mage Class 1. Thats the reason why she mentioned it thats feels like fighting a old/experienced mage.
@@azeezoyefeso7731 I am actually not certain that it's revealed as I can't remember her ever mentioning the name of her grandfather. The rset of the information on the other hand are definitly mentioned later on.
Anime Spoiler: All of the facts about Lernen is explicitly stated at some point in this arc. In fact, I don't think they even know Lernen by name quite yet. It is subtly revealed that Lernen is Ehre's grandfather. Ehre mentioned that she'd introduce Wirbel to her grandfather. At the end of the arc, after Wirbel and Frieren spoke, I believe we see Wirbel walk off to talk to Ehre and she's there with Lernen. It's either then or there's a rather brief montage that definitely shows Lernen, Ehre and Wirbel talking. There's no other reason for Lernen to be interacting with those two unless you realise that he's the grandfather. I can try to dig up the exact scene, if you really want. Edit: Found it! Thought I was going crazy for a minute there. Watch the ED for the last episode. It's about 35 odd seconds into it. Very easily missed especially since it's in the ED and only a static frame for a couple of seconds.

Fern the subtle Tsundere, i get what you mean but pls dont call her Disney Princess xDD This is disrespecting this awesome Anime in a whole
@@fjoergyn why? whats wrong with disney princesses?

Fern the type of player to get an iron dagger in the tutorial and keep upgrading it all the way to the final boss.

this arc is just so good. all the characters we got introduced to are so colorful and cool in their own way

Fern, casually calling new generation mages "wack".
While being the newest of them all!
