That's actually a really good way to decide, you throw the dice and when they land and you are not happy with the outcome, you know what you've decided on. If that still doesn't help, just let the randomness decide, which can be another person.

Well sometimes it's GOOD to say "that would never happen". For example, you're with 10 friends and they ask something like "if we were all in a house on fire and if you could only save one of us who would you save?" First of all why even ask that?? So I don't want to answer the question because I don't want to piss 9 of my friends off, so I say something like "that would never happen"

If i told someone "you're an idiot" then they can assume that it is an insult, not to inform them they are not intelligent, while if i said "no offense, but you're an idiot" then that differentiates that from an insult in that context.
Although, to be fair, i actually agree with you, i just like to explore the otherside of the argument. You can tell if it is an insult of not usually anyway, based on tone of voice and context, what words they say etc.

If the question is jarring enough, it makes perfect sense that they wouldn't be able to make a decision. "Would you rather kill your Son or your Daughter?" No reasonable person will come to a decision for that, even if it's just a joke.
