  • First, I want to thank Everett's family for inviting me, a stranger, into their home to help others. Thank you so much. Everett has Down syndrome. He was born almost 2 months premature. He had corrective heart surgery and has a G-tube. He is also absolutely adorable. Join me as I follow Everett over time, providing pediatric physical therapy treatment recommendations to help him get stronger, faster, and more mobile. I first met him when he was 11.5 months old. I am so excited to see him grow and change over time.
These videos are not to replace in-person physical therapy. Individualized therapy is critical for a child's success. Please do not try these with your child if your child has other risk factors or has skills, strengths, or weaknesses significantly different from Everett's. My email address is amysturkey@gmail.com. My website is www.pediatricPTexercises.com. Please remember I cannot provide treatment recommendations for a child I have not personally evaluated. You will need to find a local therapist for recommendations specific to your child.
These videos may be more helpful seen in order as I perform easier treatment techniques first. Here is the link to his playlist:

I now also have 3 professional books, "Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises for the Hips," "Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises for the Knees, and "Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises for the Ankles." I am so honored to have people from all over the world watch my videos. I have reviewed and corrected the closed captions for this video so that you might understand what I am saying, even if you don't speak English. I hope the directions below are helpful to you.
To turn on Captions, click CC in the bottom or top right corner of the video
To choose a different caption language:
At the bottom right, click Settings. It looks like a wheel.
    Click Subtitles/CC.
    Select a language.
If the language isn't listed when you click Subtitles/CC:
    Click Auto-translate.
    Select a language.
Of course, if the captions are in the way of viewing the details in the video, you can always turn them off in the bottom or top right-hand corner of your video screen.

It’s hard to stop. If simply giving her a firm no and redirecting her with encouragement to go the correct direction doesn’t work then I recommend consulting with a local therapist for assistance
