The dark Damascus is really a nice looking blade. I believe Civivi has stated the base metal for it is 9Cr as you mentioned. Really nice looking knife. Thanks KC for the review.

I snagged this exact variety of Sokoke on sale recently. I like the sort of 'ashen python' look the damascus & linen micarta have going. Agreed about the roughness of the liner lock jimping. If they made a version of this without the front flipper and with a button lock, I'd be all over it so fast.

Not a fan of front flippers either, the Damascus and micarta look great. Thanks for the overview, and critique of the liner-lock (some others have mentioned the sharpen-ability over time might be an issue), KC.

Civivi has said in the past 9cr18 mov but 10cr15comov which is basically VG10.

Nothing can be worse then the Gayle Bradley spydie, it's liner lock is like rubbing your thumb on gravel, this is one heck of a nice knife, definitely gonna be my next purchase
Yeah this one is definitely not like the Bradley. I love that knife but the lock is pretty terrible. This one is definitely much better. Thanks
Right ! Lose the darn saw blade and scallop it out that lockbar access . Dbl scallops is best because you can just push in . Not many knives have it but in titanium it’s a beautiful thing . Now I like titanium with a steel liner piece screwed to the scale . They’re so nice imo .

I think their damascus is 9cr and 10cr. Which test similarly to vg10. Atleast that's what I heard/read somewhere
