    So then... which brands ARE full-contact duel worthy? Any recommendations?

      Ultrasabers blades do not hold up with full contact very well the ultraedge heavy grade blade I've broke 3 dueling with my friends it's not worth it kyber lights blades have never broke on me I have 3 and I've had one for 3 years it's my main blade zero issues so far and a lifetime warranty so if it breaks they replace it for free next would be saberforge they have the both brightest and sturdiest blades kyber doesn't have diffusion film so it's not as bright but saberforge works really well all around blade I recommend anything kyber or saberforge ultrasabers have cool hilts amazing hilts but the blade section lacks quality for anything more than light dueling anything even remotely hard tends to snap blades pretty quick if you're like trying to make the duels fun just be careful my friend cut his hand pretty bad with a broken blade we swung at each other jumped back and lunged forward and just he went to block as I went overhead and came down and like halfway through the blade just cracked and snapped and flew back and he tried to block it with his hand and it punctured skin

    We used to beat the hell outta my MR force fx sabers. I mean that! Of course they were converted to ultrasabers with heavier dualing blades. This was 2007 mind you, but they took a beating!

    I really just want to use it for working out purposes you know, to help me lose weight swinging it around. I see the potential of this being a somewhat decent workout

      Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but if pick up a broom and swing it around for 3 or 4 minutes you will begin perspiration and breathing hard for sure.

    I have noticed a lot of fuzzy definitions when people refer to 'Duel worthy'. To a lot of people 'Duel Worthy = running around in the backyard with friends or kids smacking blades together like we did when we were young... and a lot of blades seem to fall in that category and many of the cheap dollar store extending blade things can NOT...
    To others... 'Duel worthy' means full contact, Heavy grade padding and armor and fencing helmets needed or else you risk a concussion and bleeding while you hope for the durability of baseball bats...
    I'm hoping for a blade that could stand up to #2.... but reality is I doubt I'll ever get past #1 ;)

    I would love to start, but unfortunately, there are not any saber leagues in my area. Not at least that I could find. But I do have several sabers that are duel worthy, and have several heavy grade blades. So I'm ready.

    I tryed making some spins ( which shouldn’t be really difficult) with my Kylo Ren Force FX Lightsaber ( the one in this video ) , but the hilt is REALLY Heavy and it makes moving it very hard.

    I am so happy I just bought the kylo ren force fx. I really would love to duel but i remember before buying asking myself if I really wanna duel with my first saber, and I thought how.much I like the force fx just for the novelty. I plan on grabbing a tiny giant origin eventually for dueling .

    • @bobtimster62
      @bobtimster62 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      FYI: The Tiny Giant made by The Pach Store is only for light dueling. Keep that in mind when you are trying to decide what type of saber you want to buy for dueling, and the kind of dueling you want to do. (That is, read the fine print.)

      @@bobtimster62 I would eventually upgrade to a heavy grade blade. In still unsure but trust me I WONT be dueling with my kylo ren force fx. I'm keeping it only for cosplay. Bob what's a good saber you would recommend for dueling?

    • @bobtimster62
      @bobtimster62 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@walkingnote1090 I would recommend either a Sabertrio or an Electrum Sabercrafts. The default blade you get with a Sabertrio is not a heavy grade blade, but you can order one of those. (I think I ordered mine from a separate company, but I don't remember.) The hilt, according to Sabertrio, is fine for heavy dueling. When you order an Electrum Sabercrafts, you can request a heavy grade blade in your order. Both offer hilts that are solidly constructed. (However, unlike Sabertrio, Electrum Sabercrafts does not produce stunt sabers.) The customer service at both companies is extremely good, and these two companies, although relatively new, are extremely well-rated. However, keep in mind that these are higher end sabers, $300-400 (for a saber that offers, e.g., sound effects). Kyberlights are also rated for heavy dueling and are much cheaper but, in my personal opinion, they are junk. (I learned this the hard way.) Why I think that would take a whole other comment section. My feeling is to go with something a little more expensive, and get a quality saber. I wish I had done that the first time around. Get more information about Sabertrio and Electrum Sabercrafts by checking out their websites. I hope at least some of this info is useful to you.
