@@MrGtubedude It wouldn't pass the new emissions / TUV and that's a big deal in most EU countries. Best case scenario you'd just get a huge fine, worst case scenario you'd get your car impounded or license revoked.

For something as beautiful as the F8, and something that drives better than almost anything, it deserves a better sound.

@@vika0194 You never drove one, right? Although I would agree with you that it's not about speed. The really exciting thing is the acceleration. And it's quite brutal, even if controllable at any time, purely from the point of view of the feeling
I actually think it's cool when there isn't a big theater every time you arrive somewhere. Chic but rather inconspicuous when it comes to the soundscape. The car is relatively quiet, almost good if you are only on the move in the city. If you press the gas pedal all the way, it sounds nice. It really starts from 6000 revolutions. I mean, we're talking about 700+ horsepower here.
@@Standgedicht I have been in an F430 Scuderia at 200 km/h. Much better than a 488. And I own an F-type R.
At least the exhaust sound is louder than a Tesla

@yo lo The Ferrari FF and California had stop/start like 10 years ago. It's not new.
The start up is so quiet and depressing sounding 🙁 like the 488 wasn't good sounding but revs, and startups were good and exhaust note wasn't horrible but now this is just worse
The sound inside is much more noticable than outside.

Very sad that something that looks that good can sound so uninspiring. It has no soul - tragic really. For me the last true Ferrari Spider is the 812 GTS.
812 GTS will be fitted with PPF aswell, sadly.
@@xFaLLeNy0 812 Doesnt have turbo's. The 812 is most likly the last naturally aspirated V12 from Ferrari, so if def a collectors car
Ferrari has those stupid valves in their exhaust for those older gents that have nagging wives with sensitive ears. So they mute their exhausts. Funny thing is that ever since they now have turbos, the sound has dropped even MORE. Which is unacceptable. These cars need to come with an F1 type exhaust from the factory with a valve controller button to switch on and off instead of the current setup where it opens up at high RPMs.
I think the 812 sounds amazing but looks absolutely terrible , ferrari to me personally have lost the designs that made them ferrari , they should bring back pininfarina. Been a life long ferrari fan but there isnt one single car in the current line up that I actually like let alone want .

Custom exhaust manufacturers can’t do much because it is illegal to take the filter out of the exhaust which is the main reason why the sound is muted

I have the California T same engine but online in higher RPMS the V8 comes to life. I can't believe Ferrari chose this setup. I'd rather have less horsepower without a turbo...

What is amazing about it? That's not a turbo sound, it's the sound of a petrol particulate filter muffling the sound entirely.
Only good sounding turbo from ferrari was the f40 and gto , turbo sounded shouldn't be associated with ferrari , its sacrilege

MuabYT not at all, 458 was a naturally aspirated 4.5 V8, this is a twin turbo 3.9L even if straight piped this would still not sound like a 458

This is just the typical housewife Ferarri, with enough masculinity in her genes.
Enough horsepower for every situation, but quite tame and manageable for everyone. No comparison to the death machines from the early days. That has its advantages.
Their sound was really phenomenal, but not everyone needs the theater and attention when you get somewhere. Especially since it makes a lot of noise from 6000 rpm. In the city, the car is exciting enough just because of its appearance. I realy like the F8.

That’s what I have for the past year and a half now. The new is wearing off so I’ve been checking these out because the looks are amazing but I change my mind due to the sound now. It’s quieter than my girlfriends new 2020 civic hatch back....and no, I’m not actually kidding. I’m very disappointed to hear that it sounds even worse. I thought the 488 was quiet but this is a whole other level of quiet.

It’s not the turbos. It’s the exhaust regulations that have been out in place in the Europe. Other turbo engines sound good just the regulations are stupid.
