We can’t do it all. I read less in 2024 than in 2023. My vegetable garden did poorly with the drought. Hence I had less homegrown produce to put up than the year before. Oh well. Maybe this year will be better all around but I am keeping expectations low.
I am glad you still had another video for 2024. You seem to have some of your spunkiness/sassiness back, so, good for you. Maybe you are feeling better today. I look forward to your 2025 year. I had a similar year, reading less than the two previous years. I am going to quantify my owned TBR this year, which will be an undertaking. I love spreadsheets, so I don't know why I haven't captured this info before.
I was trying to read down a specific stack of books in my living room (yeah…I’m well and truly out of shelf space) and managed to reduce it by almost 1/3! 🎉 However! I also bought more books and made the stack just as big again by the end of the year. 😢 🤦🏻♀️
Honestly, 2024 was not an easy year and so I ended up rereading a lot of things that are comfort reads for me. I reread Murderbot Diaries and Kate Daniels (pretty sure it was twice each), Pride & Prejudice, Salt Hendon (yeah, I don't get it either, but here we are), and Wraith Kings. Also discovered Robin McKinley; Chalice (so far my fave), Deerskin, Spindle's End, and Beauty. How I missed this author is beyond me. Read Bartleby the Scrivner which I had remember being profoundly touched by when I read it in high school (probably my junior year, so 1987) and was not wrong. It was poignant. Finally read Uprooted by Naomi Novik, another book I can't understand why I hadn't read it before. I enjoyed Temeraire immensely and she delivered well for Uprooted. The Doomsday Book caught me by surprise and now I'm going to have to read the next in the series. And I can't remember what else I read, if I did at all.
I love the graphic you made of countries read. I know you don’t owe us this, but I’d love to know both how you tracked it and transferred the data to the map. I you explained in another video I would love the link❤
My first book of the year, this year 2025, was Alperton. It is everything. I haven’t gotten to it yet, but I did talk one of my Bookclubs into reading Spellshop for our January book. I gave Steve’s Pub trivia team, the award to the characters I most wanted to hang with. Nobody, and I mean nobody, talks about my favorite book of the year, Rainbow Rowell’s, Slow Dance.
My biggest goal in 2024 was to reduce my physical tbr, and I did! I went from 100 to 50 by Christmas, and then back up to 60 after receiving books for Xmas (:
Lovely to have a new video with spreadsheets! A clever way to track reading each year. I know you won't but don't think that Greenland can become part of the US. Denmark will have something to say about that!
Your spreadsheets having me green with envy... the data... the tracking.... magnificent
Same. It is a thing of beauty.
I only read 33 out of my 40 2024 Goodreads goal but I’ve been making more art. 🖼️

That is lovely! 🥰
33 is still good! Sounds like a great balance!
That Greenland suggestion is genius! I'm using that for my 2025 spreadsheet. Love seeing your stats, it makes my nerdy, stat-loving heart so happy. 😊
It’s Miss SpreadsheetsLikeWhoa! Happy Sunday!

Garlic being your favourite character is so real!
I read The Spellshop off of your recommendation and it’s one of my top reads of the year.
Love to hear it!!
I love hearing all of your stats. Great job reading so much from your owned TBR!

I feel you- That's the bookworm life 😂

I love the superlatives idea, I will have to remember that for end of year 2025.
I read 50 of my 50 Goodreads goal. After your favorites video I immediately ordered The Alperton Angels and the Beekeeper book. So excited for those!
Yay I hope you enjoy!!
Thank you for the video🎉

It is a chart in Google sheets so nothing fancy! It’s one of the default ones so no need for a plug in or anything 😉

Spellshop, Alperton Angels and Leech are on the horizon!
Yay I hope you enjoy!! 👏👏
I want to know all the information of your spreadsheet! What is this new spreadsheet? 👀
It’s a homebrewed one but Hardback Hoarder sells ones that are relatively similar
@bookslikewhoa thanks!
Wow I love that sweater! Did you knit it? If so what pattern did you use?

As it should be!!!
